Fasting Blood Sugar test
I am wondering how this test works. Wouldn't a fasting blood test give super low numbers? If a type 2 doesn't eat, I'd think that, so is it the 'low' numbers that confirm one is type 2 or would a type 2 still have high numbers after fasting this long?

Feeling Guilty
My current HbA1c is 6.0. I do not have a limit on the amount of carbs I can have a day. I've been reading a lot of posts from people who talk about only consuming so many carbs a day to help keep their blood sugars down. This makes me feel guilty because I don't have a limit for myself on carbs. When I eat, I do take into…

High Blood Sugars and Being Sick
Does anyone else experience high blood sugars when they are sick? I'm T2 and I have bronchitis right now.... I've had FBS in the 200s and before/after meal BS in the 190-235s. I've called my doc and he says to just ride it out until I'm over it. I can't go on steroids for the bronchitis because of the already high numbers.…

Lantus injection question
Hello All, I have a question for those of you who inject Lantus, for some reason when I do the injections in my stomach I have no issues, but when I do them in my thigh they really hurt. Is this normal?? May be because I have so much extra fat in my belly versus my thigh? I still squeeze the skin when I do the thigh. Any…

Did you know?
I gave up drinking regular soda in my twenties. I'm now in my fifties. I figured I'd rather eat my calories than drink them. So I switched to diet soda, and started using artificial sweeteners in my coffee. It seems I shoulda not used the artificials either. Nothing was ever really sweet enough, and I never lost my craving…

Troubling numbers in the lab work

Triglycerides, from 95 to 155. My A1c went from 5.7 to 6. Now, two years ago they were a lot worse -- my triglycerides were over 300,…
