Starting June 18th!
*Sorry about the date, can't change the topic lol* :blushing: I'm starting June 19th. I purchased spiffy new running shoes so if nothing else, I need to justify that expense. Anyone wants to join me on this epic adventure is more than welcome to! I'm sure it's going to suck at first, I will probably cuss myself out a few…

lower back pain
Anyone else who's never been a runner before (and not doing C25K to "get back into their running groove") find that they're having lower back pain since they started C25K? I am not sure if it's from the running, but the timing matches up. I have found back strengthening exercises to do and I do stretches after each workout…

Couldn't make it through W1D1 C23K.
On Monday I attempted W1D1 of the C25K, but I barely made it past a quarter of the thing. I was really excited to do this and I wish I could keep doing it. However, I had to stop because I felt like I couldn't catch my breath and my stomach was cramping up. I don't know if it's because I was doing squats and crunches…

registered for my first 5K
So my husband and I registered for our first 5K to be held in December. I'm very nervous now. Today I did Week 3, day 3 but I think I will do this week again as I am still struggling with the 3 minute runs. This makes me nervous for a 5K, if I cant run 3 minutes how will I run 5k ????

TOO SLOW?
Hi everyone! I just finished WK3 D1 last night, I've registered for a 5K on 30th September in aid of Heart Research, but I'm a little worried reading through all the posts on here that I'm super slow! My average speed is 3-3.5mph, I feel like I'm going to be so slow when I do the 5K. My aim is just to finish but ideally…

I completed week 1 today!!
I want to brag!!!!! I completed week 1 today!!! It was rough but I feel so good about it!! If someone would have said to me a few months ago I would have lost 23 lbs and started a weight loss journey I would not have believed it!! I am now training for my first 5k in November!!!! So excited about it!!

How do I get faster?
I finished the C25K program about 2 weeks ago:happy: . I am a slow runner so my new goal is to complete 5K in fewer than 30 min. At the moment I am only doing about 4.3KM in the 30 minutes and no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to gain much more. How do I get faster without needing to vomit in one of my neighbour’s…

week 1 day 1..feeling like an out of shape pig!!!
Hey!!! I completed week 1 day 1 on Thursday. I am so disappointed in myself because it is obvious that I am out of shape. I could barley breath and I was so tired. I could barely do 60 SECONDS at a slow pace...My fit BF made me stretch and do squats before I left. The squats hurt so badly. As a result I was in pain before…

Completed the 20 minute run in Week 5 :)
I have been struggling with shin splints due to old shoes. Got my Asics yesterday and hit the treadmill today. I can't believe I actually made it 20 minutes without stopping, but I did and could have gone longer! Good luck to everyone!!

Leg pain & fatigue - questions
Hi! So I am pretty new to running - never ever thought I'd be able to run for more than 60 seconds without dying. I am really feeling it in my legs when I'm running. I'm on W3D3 and I find my legs are burning and exhausted during the run. What do you all tell yourself when you feel like this in order to push through?…

Excited C25k Newbie!
Hello everyone! I'm on Week 2 Day 3 of C25k and anticipating what can change in 8 weeks. So far I've been running 3-4 days a week for the past 3 weeks and ALREADY I notice a difference in my thighs smoothing out. You know that annoying cellulite bulge in the back inner thighs where you often sit? I was doing an indian…

W5D3!!!
I did it! I ran for 20 minutes straight for the first time in my life!!!

Do you run every day or just run longer?
I have been running three times a week like the program tells you to. I am about to graduate so I was thinking maybe it was time to try running more days. Does anyone run every day? Or is it better to just continue lengthening my runs? Or both?

Get Faster or Increase Distance?
Hey everyone! I just "completed" C25K on Friday. I put it in quotes because while I ran for 30 minutes, just like it said, I only ran 2.25 miles (running on a track outdoors). For those not too good with math, it equates to about a 13.33 minute mile. I am training for a 5K in about 9 weeks, and I need a bit of direction…

My c25k Journey
I recently started a blog about all this running and health and fitness. And I recently wrote a post about my c25k journey, with stats and numbers to see where I started and how far I came in the 7 weeks I trained using c25k. I thought some of you who are new to this might be interested in checking it out.…

How often do you run?
I'm very new to this (will be doing W1D3 today) but I want to know how often you guys run? I dont want to cause myself an injury but I'm loving it and want to run on my rest day (I know I cant before you shout at me lol) I've been running every other day but if I continue this routine then each "week" of the program would…

Why do W6?
What is the point of Week 6....I finished W5D3 and have done one 15 minute run since then. I do NOT want to do week 6, I want to RUN. I don't want to stop and go back to 8 minutes. Ugh! HELP!! Help convince me that I need to do week 6!!!

Running with ankle hardware?
Hey all, 22 years ago, both of my ankles were crushed in a car accident. The doc on call in the ER was amazing, and patched me back together with plates and screws on the outside of both ankles, plus a pin on the inside of my left one. The initial prognosis wasn't good - my ankles would probably never be weight-bearing…

Good news...bad news...good news....
Good news ia that I made it to W8D1round about July 12th. Bad news is I had surgery on July 18th and at about 4wks post -op, I'm still limted in my physical activity (back to work 1/2 days and lifting no more than 15#) which means I'm almost back to square one for C25K :p Good news is that my follow up showed great healing…

I can't wait until ...
Need to vent a minute with a little NSV I'm chasing: I can't wait until my shirt stops creeping up to my boobs while I'm running. Nobody needs to see my doughy middle bouncing around while I'm trying to get fit by 40! I suppose I could tuck it in, but the visual on that is almost equally unnerving. Just sayin' ... that…

Running in the Rain
This past week it has been raining almost every morning so I was only able to go out on Tuesday morning. This morning I was planning on going but I woke up and it was pouring outside, and it hasn't stopped. I ran in the rain once when I didn't expect it to start raining and it was just aggrivating. But at the same time, I…

Shin Splints :(
I will be starting W4D1 but I have been having shin splints since week 2! In highschool I always got shin splints in track and coach made us run through so I did. When I started week3 I could barely walk. I rested and iced my legs for a week while taking ibuprofen then started the program all over again and at a slower…

w1d1 FINALLY woohooo
I have been trying to get to this for the past 2 or 3 months because i actually need to train for a 10k. the 10k is in 2 months. i need to keep an average of a 15 min mile pace. This is the true go...pace and stamina. I thought the C25k would be the best place to start. It helps to need to watch the time on the treadmill.…

Week 6 Day 3... And the race is in 3.5 weeks
No more interval runs left in the training program, and I'm officially registered for my race (Sept 9). I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Will run Week 6 Day 3 after work today. Need to step up my outdoor training over the next 3 weeks - I will admit that I'm nervous about this, I'm lots slower on ground than on…
