Week 8 is hard... to stop running!
So I started week 8 yesterday. As the title says, when the app tells you to stop running after 28minutes it is very hard to stop from running for 2 more minutes to finally reach the 30minute mark! So by the end of the week I should be finished this program, although I will consider myself having finished C2 30mins as I…

Starting in Sept?
Hi! I signed up for a 5K in December, so decided I'd better learn how to run! I'm going to start the C25K in September. I don't care what date, as I have lots of time between now and the race, but I'd love to have some other people as friends that are starting the same time so we can encourage each other along. I've…

humidity, be gone :)
This Georgia girl thinks running in this humidity stinks! I'm on W7D3. My times seem to get worse lately. I am running at night after teaching all day and it is so incredibly humid! That's all. Just a little rant. :)

Time of day
I have been working through the program since mid-June and had reached week 7 when I went back to work teaching. We start our day with students at 7:45 and end at 2:!5........of course I am NEVER out of there before 3:00, most days is around 3:30 or 4:00. My problem is that when I started the program I was consistently…

Planning Return to Running after Injury Need Input
Hello. I just joined this group today although I have not run in a couple of weeks. When I return to running, I will be starting from scratch so I thought joining a couch to 5k group was appropriate. When I developed my bursitis in my knees (what the doc thinks it is), my last schedule was long run 10.8 mi, easy 2.34 mi,…

Hills????
Just wanting others thoughts on hills. My 5K run takes in 4 hills. The first one is really steep (well steep for me) and the other three are more gradual but over a much longer distance. Personally I prefer the steep one. Partly because it is early on in my run and I want to get it over and done with but also because for…

I ran my first 5k!
I did it! I finished the C25K program and I ran an entire 5k! I finished in 35:45 and I'm just so, so happy! I remember struggling though the 60 second interval jogs but I made it! Just know that if I can do this, you can do it to!

Question for Interval Enthusiasts!
So I've graduated from the program and I can run for 30 straight minutes, but, a) I'm trying to increase my distance in that period of time, and b) I'm easily bored and miss my intervals! Does anyone have any recommendations for running-jogging-sprinting intervals (like Fartlek)?

i did it!!
I graduated the c25k program this week and completed my first timed 5k today in 33:25 I feel absolutely amazing. I think I can now call myself a runner :) woohoo

Feeling discouraged :/
Need some advice/encouragement.... I had been cruising right along with C25K - repeating a day here and there, but for the most part staying pretty well on track. As I got into week 7 - was having trouble getting the full time in without walking when working out outside. I think, for me, it is a pacing issue - I'm really…

W1D1 complete
Hubby & I just finished Day 1. I forgot to turn on my gps so I don't have true stats. His was 2.14 miles at 14.2 mph. Mine is probably a touch slower. We did the program out the trail, then walked back home. So a total of 4 1/2 or so miles. I feel good. Looking forward to Day 2.

Nearly done week 2!
Oh my word I can't believe it I have nearly finished week 2-just done week 2 day 2 and it was ok! Yes it was hard but not too hard! I was really pleased with myself and I managed 10 lengths of the pool afterwards! I can't believe that this programme works! My husband keeps saying you should do this you should do that but I…

Where do I start????
I completed c25k a couple of years ago and completed a couple of 5k's since. The problem is that I still can't run 3 miles or 30 minutes without walking. So I started the c25k program again a few months ago and I stopped at week 3. I want to run, but I really don't think I need to start at week 1. I get really bored with…

RunKeeper
I've started using RunKeeper to record my walks and runs. I start week 4 of C25k on Monday. Is anyone else using RunKeeper who needs some more friends on their street team? It's a bit lonely over there on my own! http://runkeeper.com/user/LeonnieH/profile

Road ID
When my husband became a bike commuter he ordered one of these. Now that I am going to be running, he felt I should order one two. I think these are a great idea for any runner, biker, hiker, etc. Gods forbid we ever get hurt while running and either do not have, or become separated from, our wallet, id etc. This bracelet…

Day One
I tried to do "day one" early this Spring and failed miserably. I was so tired and hurt by the time the 20 minutes was up, I didn't try again. Since then, I've really upped my general activity, and I've lost a few pounds. I decided to give it another try, and I have to say, that Day 1 was a BREEZE! I was so amazed at…

Suggested Stretches?
Hi all, I started C25K this week, and one problem I am having is that I'm getting cramps in my feet and calves when I jog/walk. I am stretching before beginning, but I'm wondering if I'm doing the right ones or if there is something else I should be doing? If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful. Thanks in…

A Little C25K NSV
I've started this program twice, maybe three times prior. And though I'm only on week 5 day 2, I've been doing each week twice, just to make sure I move on without injury (and, ok, it's sort of a mind-game too  ). So I'm pretty happy with my progress, particularly in regards to commitment. And while I'd rather be…

Too ambitious??
I have not run since we were forced to run in gym class back in my school days. I have always hated running. My line was the only reason to run is if zombies are chasing me. I do go to the gym 3-4 times a week and would say I am reasonably fit for 42 y/o. My husband and I want to start running so we can do the runDisney…

what exercise to do on off days?
I'm into my second week of training for my first 5k & wonder what exercises I should be doing on my off days? I don't want to over do it on my knees but want a daily work out. Any suggestions?

VA 10 miler / 4 miler all HILLS
So this is a big race in our area. Up to 1000+ runners / walkers come. Some marathoners say it is harder than any race they've done. We have some killer hills. I signed up to walk it, but sure would like to run / jog. It is at end of September and I am due to start week 4, so won't be done with program yet. It sure is…

treadmill?
Texan here. I find it very hard to run outside - too hot. Is c25k + treadmill a ridiculous notion? Do I need to be running outside? I haven't been very successful at this thing yet, but I really want to be!

Anyone at W2D1???
I've started and restarted this process at least 3 times now, and end up falling off the wagon each time. I need accountability partners...would anyone care to join me?? You don't necessarily have to be at the same point.

W3D1
Yay!!! I did it!! I thought I was not going to be able to do the 3 minute runs but I did it!!!! I feel great and accomplished!!!!

Tomorrow = Graduation Day
Yours truly will be running in the Dumont Days 5k in Bergen County NJ. AM registered for a charity 5k for my son's school in the middle of September. Through the changes that this website and these forums have helped me make in my life, I eat better, I sleep better, I am more relaxed and can run 5k without a whole lot of…

Completed Day 1
Last night I completed Week 1 Day 1 of the program and I must say that I was pretty surprised with myself. I have attempted this program a few other times and failed miserably on Day 1. I was able to complete the whole exercise without stopping for a break or feeling like I was going to die. When I checked my log after…

Strength training and C25K
I ran cross country in high school and trained for some difficult 10K courses four years ago, but fell off the healthy living bandwagon after I got married and didn't have to fit in a wedding dress anymore. I gained 35 pounds and finally decided it was time to do something. In high school I could go from running zero miles…

what to do
On Tuesday I started week 6 day 2. It was very hot outside and not sure what happened but I wasnt able to finish the run. My legs were cramping up and felt lightheaded. I have a feeling it was due to the heat because it was about 100 degrees outside. Tonight is supposed to be my week 6 day 3 which is a 22 minute run.…

I'm a Color Runner thanks to C25k!
I finished the C25K program about a month ago and decided that I needed to sign up for a 5k to keep my motivation going. I am so glad that I did! I participated in The Color Run on Saturday and it was AWESOME! It was a ton of fun & I finished with a time of 31.50. <--- Pretty good for my first 5k. Who knew that running…
