I ran veeeeerrrrrryyyy slow, I finished....but my time sucked!!! Truth be told, I'm so over it, how can I move on if today was…

Anyone else feel disgusting?
Don't get me wrong, I love doing this. I never was a runner, even when I was younger. However, I cringe when I think of people watching me. I've usually got sweat flying. My nose is running like a faucet most of the time. And I know I sound like a crazy woman in labor with my breathing. Am I alone in this?

The couch is callling me!
I started the C25K program after more than a year of inactivity (grad school, 2 jobs, and 20 "new" pounds later). I ran a half marathon before. Not thinking about another one but 5K is the first goal. The week one workout is completely do-able, Should I jump ahead or stay with the program?

Intro - W1D1
Hi gang, I'm a long time sufferer of Crohn's Disease, and was recently hospitalized with Disseminated Histoplasmosis due to the immune suppressants used to fight the Crohn's. The good news: 1) I'm not over weight - it's really hard to get over weight with active Crohn's as most of what you eat isn't absorbed. 2) The Histo…

Run a 5k in week 7?
I just found out about the Santa Monica Christmas 5k and its on Sat (But I can still register). What do you guys think about possibly running that? It would turn out to be my 3rd day of week 7 basically. I don't really see any downside, I might have to walk the last mile (fairly positive that I'm not running a 10 minute…

FAIL
so today was supposed to be my day 3 of my first week and I decided to take my pup Molly out with me for some company.. turns out she is a horrible running partner.. she almost tripped me like 3 times and was trying to stop every 3 minutes to sniff something.. so about half way through I just decided to walk.. I am not…

Recent Graduates...Now What?
So I graduated from the program last Monday. I ran my first 5K on Friday....slowly. Very slowly. I was in terrible shape to start, so I am a slow runner. We're talking 43 minutes to finish the 5K here. I am honestly very proud that I'm doing this, but also highly discouraged that I'm not faster. I don't think I'm ready for…

is a ran is a ran if...
recently, i just signed up in the gym. i been liking it being it is so cold outside. past two training, W6D2 and W6D3, i did it in a treadmill... i found it a lot easier.... i could've run 30mins without stopping but i still followed the training app that i'm using... here's the question: does it matter where you do it?…

One More Time :)
OK... I have been walking, only running when the spirit hits me :) I have not been making any progress toward getting back to really running... which I used to love. So ... I am going to work on the Couch to 5K again. I started once about 6 months ago and was working it steady. However, with my Thyroid still messed up and…

c25k grad going for round 2 after time off...
I finished c25k last summer and did my 5k - I ran way better than I expected to, and was thrilled with my results. The very night of my race, I went to work and sprained my ankle! Ugh! I've been rehabbing it since, and because it was a "resprain", I took lots of extra time to make sure it was okay. I just started back to…

Week 3...
...of doing Week 2. I've been having ridiculous amounts of trouble getting up in the mornings to go to the gym. My alarm goes off, I shuffle out of bed, turn it off...then stand in the middle of my room for about a minute sleepily deliberating just how tired I am before deciding that, no, I need to sleep more than I need…

Dammit!
I went for a run late tonight, around 8:00 PM. Just as I was at the end of first 3 minute run of the W4 workout, I found a chunk of wood on the sidewalk that I didn't see in my headlamp. I found it by stepping on it with my right foot and rolling my ankle WAY over. Ouch. I managed to limp home and immediately started RICE,…

aching knees
I started having trouble with my knees when I run, so I got new running shoes. I went to a place where a professional watched how I ran to gauge what would be the best shoe for me. My trainer showed me how to run.... making sure I wasnt pounding the pavement, so to speak. My knees quit hurting for a while, but now are…

Knee Issues
I know this has been addressed on the boards already but my knee pain/condition doesn't seem to be as severe. On week 2 of c25k and LOVE it, but my left knee...Ouchie. Not horrible pain, not swollen just generally uncomfortable. I haven't taken any kind of otc meds and have to be honest, haven't been stretching properly…

Logging C25K on MFP
I completed Week 4 Day 1 this morning. I just logged my running and walking times individually. (I walk about 0.6 miles to and from the track also.) It totaled about 330 calories burned. Does that sound accurate?

Frustrating
I have been working every other day on week one for 2 weeks. I am frustrated because I can't even do the full 20 mins of off and on running. I have the hardest time doing 60 seconds by the third round. I think I will be on week 1 for months. Am I the only one that is experiencing this?

No strollers allowed? :(
I was planning on running my first 5K on Thanksgiving morning... until i read that the brochure said NO STROLLERS :( I have walked many 5Ks and aI have never done one without my son! Since beginning to run, he has been with me every time, he is 9 months old! So i got a random email the other day from the man in charge of…

calves on FIRE?
So I'm in week 4 and on that first 5 minute run my calves are like LIVING FLAME towards the end. the burn dissipates and I dont' tend to get it on the second 5 minute run (which I do run a LOT slower). There are hills along our route but they're not new to me or anything. Am I doing something wrong?
