I've Gained Yet *Another* Pound! Help!!
(I'd originally posted in the 'Upping Calories...' but with no response, I thought I'd post here.) Logically I understand all the theory and physiology behind EMTWL, and I totally agree and accept it. However, I must be getting lost somewhere in the technical aspect, because though I've been following the strategy for…

Gaining MUSCLE - stupid question
Math, science...never been my strong suit so excuse me if this is like a really dumb question. Ok, so clearly before starting EMTWL I was very concerned about a number on the scale. I always had this idea in my mind that if I could get to 135 (I'm a 5'6 female, 33yr old) that I'd be at my ultimate goal weight and be…

How effective is this??
I have been diagnosed with Cellulitis in my groin have been on a IV Antibiotic for 3 days. So I can't workout. Probably won't be able to go to the gym or do any kind of exercise for a couple of weeks. Just wondering if I should set my calorie goal for sedentary for the next week or so??

Weight and strength training
so I hear conflicting information: first, that 'the last 5-10 pounds' don't come off unless you strength train; second, when you strength train, you don't lose weight because you're building muscle. i'm about 9 pounds from my goal weight, and want to start lifting, but...i want to get to my goal weight. so do i keep…

Woohoo!
Started the cut on Sunday and this morning I weighed in and am down 3lbs! Most of it is probably water weight but still! Before starting cut I was eating low cal (1400ish) and I went straight to cut at 1850. I don't have much weight to lose - I am 130lbs, want to get to 125ish. I just wanted t tell you that it works and to…

Do i need to eat if I'm not hungry??
I am on an eating plan of approx. 1700 - 1800 cals and consists of 5 meals a day ... 6 if I’m up for 3hrs past my dinner. Now each meal consists of 100g of Protein, topped up with veg / salad and both morning tea and lunch have 100g of carbs (I use sweet potato). Of late I have not been hungry at all and I know the eating…

Opinions re: bf% and calculators
Okay, admittedly, July wasn't great. I didn't exercise much due to some health issues, but we also moved (lots of packing, cleaning, moving, cleaning, unpacking), so I didn't change my cal goal and stuck at 2200/ day (I am basically maintaining, looking to lose more bf). Anyhow, I take measurements the first of every…

No Scale August
I did not participate in the No Scale July effort like many of you, but I have put my scale away for August! I'm tired of worrying about what I weigh and want to learn to enjoy how I look and how I feel. While I have increased calories to my cut and been working on meeting macros for at least a month now, need to fine tune…

Any advice?
Hi I am curious if anyone has any ideas. I started EM2WL may 29....I initially ate at TDEE for 2 weeks (never really did VLCD and gained about 3 pounds then plateaud) Since mid june for the majority of that time i have eaten at TDEE - 15% (altho I did do one week at TDEE - 20% and i do realise consistency is the key) I am…

My progress, 2 months of EM2WL
So, in two months of doing EM2WL, I have lost 9.8 pounds (for a total of 12.8 pounds since starting MFP)! I've also lost several inches, but I measure on the first of the month, so I don't know yet what the updated stats are. But it is DEFINITELY time to start wearing some smaller clothes, especially pants, as these ones…

NSV - today I felt proud to state my weight!
This morning I was asked my weight in front of my colleagues (for the purposes of an iPad app which matches you up to an Olympic athlete - apparently my stats fit with a hockey player...). Rather than being embarrassed to mention my 10.5 stone mass (147 lbs) I was able to state it loudly and proudly because no one believes…

Maintain definition / I don't want to OVER define
Hi all. I'm not one of those girls who believe in the whole "women get bulky" idea, but I do have a few concerns with my exercise. Workout schedule: Mon-Fri 60min total workout • Mon-Thur: 30 min stair master (while wearing ankle weights) 30 min upper body strength (still wearing ankle weights) * strength usually consists…

No Scale July
When I first started I tossed out the scale but for this past month I have been weighing daily. I liked seeing the fluctuations, is what I kept telling myself, but I was lying to myself. It started to effect me these last few days. So I just read in a post were someone is going to do the no scale for a month thing and…

NROLFW vs ChaLEAN Extreme vs TurboFire
I am all cardio, all the time, and want to stop that and start strength training. Which one should I do? For those of you that do these programs, what activity level do you set yourself at and what do your weekly workouts look like? (ex. 3x week lifting ___ min, __x week cardio...etc)

Please Help, Plateau'd!
Thanks for having time to read this. I'm so discouraged. I am 36, 5'6, and have plateau'd. Today I weigh 139lbs. I have extra fat around my midsection, which is why I know I have to lose more body fat. I am working on strength and core training because I would like to build muscle, be stronger, and have a flatter stomach.…

A little confirmation please
Ok so ive been trying to get my head round all these numbers my bmr is around 1700 and my cut 20% comes out close to 1900. But in mfp if I put in to lose half a pound a week it gives me 1850 per day which means I can use the net feature with exersise? Although im confused.because I think my cut is based on lightly active.…

Is this OK? I binge again....
Today I ate a lot and I'm not quite sure how many calories it is. Probably around 1000 cal or so. Is it OK to eat a lot of calories before start upping cal officially with lower calories intake (900kcal)-I plan to slowly upping my cal around 50kcal per week from now. I plan to start eating 900 kcal for a week, started from…

Blood Type Diet
I read the Cathe newsletter yesterday and saw something about eating for your blood type, so I took a closer notice. Does anyone else cater their eating to this plan?

How quickly did you gain the weight?
Hey, everyone. Having a bit of a rough time this last week, and finally weighed myself today at the doctor's, when getting my thyroid tested. I bumped my calories up from 750 to 1650 and in 4~ weeks, I have gained 10 lbs. I'm so scared right now. I don't know what to do. I feel really gross and discouraged. I knew I had…

I'm joining the movement!!
After 2 years (and a baby) on MFP, I'm at my heaviest weight with the exception of delivery day! My 5'5 body is not meant to be 191lbs. 140 looks good on me, but being fit and toned looks best. I miss being that girl. I miss being active. A lot has changed since my fit days (30 year old stay at home mom of 2 kids under 3).…

Took a week off em2wl
So I took a week off and cut my calories to 2000 per day. I noticed an immediate decrease in midsection size (basically swelling) but headaches started and I ran out of energy. My mood worsened and I was unproductive at work... basically everything went to *kitten*. Started back tonight. What a nightmare! I just need to…

Acne after cleaning up diet?
Hello my fellow EM2WL peeps! So....I've really cleaned up my diet in the past 5 weeks-ever since beginning EM2WL. I'd say I eat clean 90-95% of the time. Both my husband and I have noticed an increase of acne, which seems like the total opposite of what SHOULD happen. Right? Is this maybe my body detoxing through my skin,…

HELP! Need tips to eat all my calories!
So, I have to eat 1785 calories (a little more on some days b/c of workouts) and find that by the end of the day I have 500 or so to go. I'm so used to eating a salad with a little meat in it for lunch or low-calorie lunches that I realized this is setting me back. I always eat a full dinner and have a 300 calorie…

It's a NSV if you ask me!
My husband has been very supportive in my EM2WL journey and has been my biggest cheerleader. Over the weekend I had my 30th bday celebration and overheard him giving me praises to one of our mutual friends has started the Isagenixs diet. It felt good to hear him saying how I finally "get it" and how good I am doing.

Who strength trains at home?
Hi all...I'm anxious to start a strength train/HIIT routine, but I have minimal equipment for strength training at home. I have hand weights and a home gym. I have a barbell on the way. I really wanted to do Stronglifts5X5 but don't know if what I have now will cut it. If you train at home, can you share your routine? I…

Whey shake alternative??
So I found out that whey shakes and I do NOT get along. I don't think it's something time will solve either -- and I'm not willing to try!! What are some high-protein beverage alternatives (homemade or mix)? I'm thinking one cup of greek yogurt with soy milk, fruit, and . . . . ?

Just keep swimming.....just keep swimming.....
I keep telling myself to "just keep swimming" this morning! I'm trying to stop the negative talk that is going on in my head through this journey. This is week 2 at 10% cut, and I've already lost a pound. I need to be patient. I keep thinking that everyone I know is staring at me and wondering if I'm pregnant because of…

Fiiiinally stepped on the scale this morning...
Hi all! This is the start of week 8 of reset. I haven't weighed myself since starting in June, at which point I weighed 154 pounds. I have eaten at full TDEE (or over, in a few binges) since then. I've been eating at the 5-6 hour of strenuous activity level, doing 5 65-minute cardio workouts a week. I'm currently out of…

running NSV - Bix 7
Yesterday was the Bix 7 - a 7 mile road race in Davenport, Iowa, known for the 'battle up Brady' (a very steep hill). This was my first year running the race. I haven't ran outside in over a month, but still did the Bix anyway, with an overall goal of just finishing it. Yesterday I crossed the finish line in 1:12:41. I ran…
