Help please - my weight doesn't seem to stabilize!
Hi there! I have been trying to do the reset for the last couple of months, increasing slowly to tdee. The first 3 weeks I was eating below by tdee but steadily increasing and have gained around 8lbs. Then on week 5 I was very close to tdee and still gained around 2lbs. For the last 2 weeks I am eating at my tdee (going my…

Yet another activity level question!
Hi, I'm new!!! A quick question on activity level, I'm trying to figure out TDEE and such :) 45 minutes of stationary bike at a moderate pace, 5 days a week, sometimes 6. The rest of the time I am pretty sedentary (desk job) except for some walks, housework (cleaning, ironing, cooking). I've been eating about 1,200 with…

new here :)
Hi everyone!! I am very happy I found this group... I have lost just over 90 lbs over the last few years but it has definitely jeopardized my metabolism by not eating enough. The first 50 lbs I strictly counted calories and stayed between 1200-1500 and the last 40 ish lbs I was in a ketogenic diet. I have been spinning my…

I've been eating 1800 calories for maybe two weeks now (up from 1750, not a huge difference, but that was up from 1450) and I have gained two pounds. I miraculously lost three about two weeks ago (weird) and though I haven't added the increase in weight to my ticker (discouraged!) I know it's there. I'm...frustrated. My…

Week Off??
OK, so I am eating around TDEE this week (2650-2750 per day), after March and the first week of April on deficit. I am at the weight I started my deficit at, although it went down two pounds for about a week in there, then I started lifting, and it went up and has stayed up. I am currently five pounds heavier than my…

Losing more than anticipated; need math help for true TDEE!!
So, this week I've consistently eaten 1800 calories per day. Today was weigh-in, and I'm 1.5lbs down. In maths terms, is there a way to use these numbers to calculate what I'd theoretically maintain on? I wouldn't know where to start to work out these numbers, so all help would be massively appreciated!

Help with calculations!!! Newbie!!
24YO Female, 5.3ft and weigh 87.5kgs Fromm scoobyworkshop.com my TDEE becomes 2281 cals. I am thinking for a reset because its been months that my weight juggles between 87 86 and 85 kgs. Anyways I always have eaten around my BMR more or less. So should I be doing Full reset or half reset? Gaining weight back scares the…

Looking for friends - Fitbit User on reset
Hi everyone! I'm currently on week 2 of a reset - I decided to start one has I was fed up of plateauing at around 137-139lbs since August 2012 and feeling so hungry eating at a 250 cal deficit (a net of a mere 1400 for me as I'm 5ft 2) resulting in me either overeating by up to 1000 calories some days, or just about…

New, help!
Hi, I just joined, figured I'd give this a try. I am playing with the calorie calculator and I'm not sure where to set my activity level so I was hoping for some input? I exercise 5 days a week, 2-3 of those days I do weights at the gym +20-30 mins cardio, then other days I do walking/jogging, a workout video like kick…

Total newbie & confused!
Hi, I'm new to MFP and EM2WL and I need some encouragement. My doctor is begging me to lose a good 40 lbs. I'm interested in EM2WL but didn't understand it at all despite reading the website & watching the EM2WL videos. My numbers are: BRM 1608, TDEE 1929. If I understood it correctly, my goal is to eat somewhere between…

Moderate...?
Hello! After lurking here after someone in the Tall Ladies group told me about you I am working out my BMR, TDEE & cut value. I am using the scooby calculator, BUT, I just wanted to make sure that I am choosing the correct exercise level, I chose the 3-5 hours of moderate exercise option simply because there isn't a higher…

So frustrated! What am I doing wrong???
Hi all! I apologize because I am sure this gets posted a million times but I truly am frustrated. Tiny bit of background, I used to go to a trainer but now don't, he moved and I haven't started with anyone else. At any rate, he was totally against the 1200 calorie diet idea. He had me on 1750-1900 calories a day and was…

Do I have to have exact ratios?
I have started doing TDEE less 20% and have my ratios of 40 carb and 30 and 30. I am not achieving my protein and often over a few grams on fat. As long as I am in my calorie range, should I still lose if I have all my figures right? Thanks in advance for reply x

FItBit One vs. FitBit Ultra?
I've been reading up on FitBit's and debating on purchasing for the last 2 years. So I went to their website and saw there is a new FitBit One coming out, shipping in Oct. When I look at the stats for the One and the Ultra, they look like they do the same exact things. And cost the same, just different colors. I can't find…

Question about tracking exercise
I was wondering how I should set up MyFitnessPal and track my exercise. According to Scooby's my TDE is 3307, BMR is 2133 and 15% cut is 2810. Should I base MFP at 2810? I work out 5 days a week and usually burn 600 calories per session. When I log this into MFP it gives me an addition 600 calories for the day, but this…

To do maintenance or not...
Hi all! I've watched the videos and read a ton and was wondering whether I need to do the reset or not. I ate at maintenance (TDEE) today and found that I was still hungry (and still am) so is that any indication of whether my metabolism is good enough to start cutting or should I do the full reset? I haven't been eating…

Which is right?
I am SO freaking confused, and exhausted and my brain hurts from research and reading and more reading, and more reading, and conflicting information! I could really use someone to sit down with a "For Dummies" book and talk to me in laymens terms, before I explode from over-information. When I started my weight loss…

If you have a BMF and are following EM2WL.....
If your BMF burned calories - consumption calories = less than calculated BMR. Are you eating back some calories to get you over BMR? Or do you just figure it will even out on the days you don't exercise? Or are you assuming a level of error with the BMF? Or....what?

Can someone remind me why I'm doing this...
So... literally 75% of the women at my work are on VERY low calorie diets and dropping weight like mad. It makes me crazy because I am NOT losing ANYTHING and I have been doing this for almost 3 months. In fact... I feel like I'm puffier. I have been stuck at this weight for almost 2 years now. I am a solid pants size…

Got my rmr tested
Ok so I got my rmr tested and its 1683. I thought it would be worse because of the 5-6 months on the vlcd. Its surprisingly high to me. Now I wanted to use this number to calculate my maintenance for my reset and wanted to know what multiplier to use. I'm lightly active. But I think I'm between light and mod activity.

Losing weight on maintenance?
I started eating at maintenance this week, and planned on only staying here a week or two for a 'diet break' before going back to cutting. Somehow I have actually lost 2 pounds this week, though - is this an indication that the level I *think* is maintenance is actually too low, and I'm just getting to a better cut level?…

Another confused newbie.
I did an 8 week reset after eating approximately 1400 calories and no progress to try to lose the last 5 vanity pounds and start body recomp. I found this group and have upped my cals to 1850. (I'm 25 F, 5'6 130lbs and set to 3-5hrs excercise a week) I set my cut to 15% simply because that seemed like a popular cut number…

DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF
Many of us, a good percentage of us, have been trying to lose weight for quite some time now. We have lost, gained it back and lost it again. That's a recipe for beating ourselves up. DON'T. So many of you have cut your sugar goals down to where they should be. Give yourself credit for that. Give yourself credit for being…
