Dairy free Protein Supplements?
Okay so... I have to eliminate Dairy, Gluten, Eggs, and Soy from my diet, or at least drastically reduce them all. I cannot have any dairy at all though because that is the one that my body reacts the most to. Gluten makes me bloat and idk what Soy does to me but apparently I'm a little allergic to it as well. lol I'm…

Beginning bench set?
I'm completely new to weight lifting. So far my exercise routine has been very mild - a few mile uphill walk daily, some bicycling, beginner dvds. My overall goal is not to lose weight but to tone up. I'd prefer to gain weight, but as I've been very inactive the past 10 years many of my previously firm areas have turned,…

What are your routines?
I am really new to strength training and from the little I have done, I really love it. I was wondering what your routines are for strength training and maybe if you have any tips for a beginner?

How do you warm up?
Hi everyone! I could use some advice on what makes a good warm-up. Right now I just cycle to the gym (about 15 minutes if I push the pace), then start lifting. I'm a beginner in the weight room, so most of what I do is with an unweighted barbell, but I'm slowly adding more. Is that good enough to prevent injuries? If so…

Looking for some friends.
Hi there! I'm Amber, 35 years old and looking to add a few new friends. I'm currently 173ish and hoping to hit a goal of around 130 at 5'2 (though I don't worry about the scale too much). I'm currently getting back into the swing of things and training for the Mudderella in Sept. and the Baltimore relay in October. I was…

Training chest with limited wrist mobility?
What can I do? I want to build up my chest muscle, but have nerve damage in my one wrist. I can only do so many push up reps before it becomes irritated which weakens the wrist area or it becomes painful. Swimming is out and the only other thing I can think of is the butterfly like machines at the gym. Any at home options…

Light of heavy lifting during weight loss
My main goal right now is weight loss. My workouts are usually 50% cardio 50% weight training. I've heard when aiming for weight loss you should do more reps with lighter weights, is this true? This is what I've been doing so far but should I eventually begin lifting heavier before I even get to my maintenance ?

Looking for new friends to motivate!
Hello, i'm new to myfitnesspal. I am 162cm tall and weigh about 54kg. I am from Germany and used a german database until now. Vegetarian Diet for a Strength Training Newbie
I recently started doing strength training. I did hire a trainer at the gym who helps me 2 times a week and the other days I follow suit. I have always been skinny fat. I do not get on the weighing scale daily because I am such a yoyo but I hover between 121 and 125 pounds any given day. I have no definition absolutely,…

front squat/other squat variations
I've been doing 5/3/1 and I've stalled on my squat after just 3 cycles. I seem to be struggling a little at the moment, as the app I used to track estimates and graphs my 1RM and they all seem to have dropped. Not sure if I maybe need to eat more. But back to my question. I'm thinking the first thing I need to do it switch…

Best Compliment.
I got the best compliment at the gym the other day. I was working out and there was a personal trainer with his client nearby. I had headphones on so the PT probably thought I couldn't hear him. He told his client "Man she's strong" made my day. Not bad for a 55 year old woman. :-)

Need Suggestions
So I am currently doing T-25 but I would also like to start adding gym days to my workout routine so that I can work on strength training. I know that you are supposed to do 30 mins minimum for cardio but how long do you strength train for and what kind of machines should I use for that? I really want to tone my belly but…

Lifting with varicose veins
Hi everybody, I have about 75-80 pounds to lose and want to try strength training. I have begun with 2 pound dumbbells and have only done some lifts I saw in a DVD called Lifting Weights for Dummies. In the past I had lost 55 pounds and was left with a lot of flabby skin. At that point I wasn't trying to lose weight-due to…

New and Wondering what to do with my stubborn stomach.
I'm new to the group. I love running and doing cardio but I also make sure I do some strength exercises as well. I am trying to loose 10ish lbs (that is taking forever) but what I really want is to "slim up". I have a very stubborn stomach and I hate doing sit-ups and they just seem to make my stomach bigger anyway. What…

Program for a re-starter
I like strength training, always have, and did some lifting on and off over the years, but usually ad hoc not following any particular program or structure. Except P90X home workout 2 .5 yrs ago, but I haven't finished that one. In the past 6 years my life have changed completely and I had countless hormone therapies, 2…

HELP - no Deadlifts/Squats allowed :-(
Due to a pelvis injury, I am going to have to stop doing any squats or deadlifts (even straight leg as I can't get the bar up at the start of the set). This is gutting as I love them. Can anyone advise on exercises that use similar muscle groups that I can do while my pelvis is healing? :ohwell:

Abs
Hello everyone! So a little background: I am no stranger to working out but I used to be a cardio addict. Since I've started trying to get back into shape I've added weights to my work out and lowered my cardio. So far I am very happy with the results and I enjoy my workouts a lot more. My problem is my abs. I have heard…

Hello, I was just wondering if any of you ladies have done Body Beast. If so what were your results? How different was it from P90X? I have done several Beachbody programs & I fell in love with P90X.
