  • 18 months down and holding steady between 165-168...but the big thing is that after two months of yoga I did a handstand and a full bridge! I'm 47...
  • Wow! About 8 family doctors in my city on this list...if I need a new doctor, I know where to look now! Its encouraging but Canada is as much a cereal producer as the US...its going to be interesting. They held public consultations online also. Curious to see how this is going to turn out. At least our guidelines come from…
  • Thanks for the awesome ideas! I wish we had World Market in Canada - it sounds amazing!
  • Smarter and more experienced folks than me will weigh in...but I'm wondering about gall bladder?
  • Alcohol, dairy, sweeteners and nuts. And I find now that I'm down 80 pounds and the weight loss has slowed to stop/crawl/stop/crawl that it can take weeks to recover from a night of over-indulgence...even if its all low-carb. I'm not really focussed on weight loss anymore, but I prefer not to bounce too far away from the…
  • The ketovangelist podcast recently did an episode on lipedema and lymphodema - some links on this page might be of interest: https://www.ketovangelist.com/episode-76-leslyn-keith-treats-lipedema-with-keto/
  • I'd step on that scale and face the music! That way you can say "okay, I've gotten here but that ends now." Use it to motivate you instead of avoidance. For me, if I'm avoiding an issue, it is usually because it causes negative feelings and usually the anxiety is worse than the reality ends up being. Also - think back to…
  • Welcome! Feel free to add me - I have over 15 months of logged food and usually hit between 25-50 carbs per day.
  • Happy Thursday! @ProCoffeenator - hope the pain is just too much, too soon with the exercise and not your fibro. Gentle stretching, heat and rest should help if it is the former. I've been hitting the mat way too hard at yoga (is that sort of oxymoronic?) and am forcing myself to take some time off just so I can get out of…
  • I'm so sorry you had to go through that experience. It must have been heart wrenching to see your dad suffering. Thank you so much for providing such a stark reminder of why what we are doing here is important. Diabetes is a terrible disease but its easy to focus on the heart failure and other issues as being…
  • I had to dump my hwc recently and switched to canned coconut milk. Way fewer calories! I immediately dropped 2 lbs. Also dropped cheese. It made me sad but I feel lots better!
  • I'm pretty sure mine is public - I've been tracking consistently for over a year.
  • @samanthaluangphixay - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's break up! That kind of stress can be really hard on your system so try to breathe through it and remember that anxiety cannot kill you - but its a sign that you need to take care of yourself. Keeping busy is one strategy but don't let that become a stress in and…
  • Ottawa Ontario Canada - 15 months keto
  • Oh and turning 40 is really a month long celebration - so as long as it happens within the month, you are good! Actually, you are great no matter when it happens!
  • This looks like my house! From the knitting to the black kitty making sure I'm doing a good job!
  • Keto is supposed to be fantastic for long distance endurance sports - once you are fat adapted your body will easily go in search of energy from your fat stores rather than needing readily available glycogen at all times...so less/no bonking! However, until you are fat adapted, training is going to be tougher…
  • Counting down the hour until I am off work for the long weekend. Just debating whether to sign up for a killer barre class tomorrow morning or not...
  • No idea but I wanted to say that you can use hot soapy water as the fat has polymerized on the surface and will not get taken away by the soap. That may help with the clean up. My favourite thing to cook to add to the surface are chicken thighs in coconut oil...my pan just gets better and better. Is it perfectly non-stick?…
  • I took a look at your diary and my first thought is that your fats are quite low for a low carb/keto WOE. Fats are structural building blocks for hormones and if your body isn't getting enough, it may be causing issues hormonally. You also didn't say how old you are, so what is happening with your menstrual cycle can also…
  • If you want a handheld, the Aerolatte is the best one I've found...nice and sturdy. Works best if you froth before adding coffee to your cream. I keep one at home and one at work to mix in my homemade coffee blocks for my mid morning coffee.
  • I love it roasted too...but recently discovered mashed cauliflower that is pretty close in texture to mashed potatoes. My kids disagree but after a year keto I have no idea what potatoes taste like anymore so its good enough for me! recipe is here: http://meljoulwan.com/2012/11/07/mashed-cauliflower/
  • Definitely no slacking for me as I hit a Barre class at 7:15. Unfortunately I have been slacking for the last few weeks so the class was tough! I see a nap in my future!!
  • That's incredible!!! Congratulations!
  • Ottawa, Ontario...feeling a bit lonely on this side of the country right now!
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. I've been logging food pretty consistently for over a year.
  • I am thinking if your dr's office doesn't have info, check with your pharmacist. They may have advice on how to make sure you are properly digesting your pills.
  • I've had a good week...started doing yoga in the mornings before work and its going...okay. So much easier now that I'm smaller. When I weighed more all that folding over just made me feel out of breath. Another nsv I guess! Also, after being stalled out in the low 170's the scale has finally started moving again after…
  • That's awesome! I skipped the cake on my birthday also. My bf gave me cheese curds instead of chocolate for valentine's day this year
  • I love your drawing and congrats on a HUGE nsv!!
