  • Frozen chicken (tenderloins and wings) are a great price there, frozen veggies are always a good deal, fresh Brussels Sprouts/sugar snap peas/fruit are staples in our house, Kirkland brand bacon (DUH!), lunch meat (they have a very low carb herb roasted turkey breast that my family really likes), string cheese, ground…
  • I don't eat bread personally, but when I did I loved Dave's Killer 21 Grain bread. I buy the 2 pack at Costco and freeze them. That is still what I buy for my husband and kids. They also have a new honey wheat variety; I've not tried it, but the kids LOVE IT.
  • I use both and have not had any issues. I only use them in the morning in my coffee, so its pretty limited, but I enjoy them. Personally, if I have artificial sweeteners, it just makes me want the real thing. Its a VERY slippery slope for me, so I don't typically make fat bombs, keto sweets, etc. Its just too risky for me.…
  • I do what many of the others have said. Cut in half lengthwise, scoop out the guts & seeds, EVOO/Salt/Pepper, and then bake cut side down. I bake mine at 375 for about an hour. Cooking time will depend on the size of the squash. You'll know its done when a fork goes through the skin easily and the cut side has just started…
  • I buy Duke's Original Shorty Smoked Sausages from Costco. Only 1g of carbs per serving (2 sticks) and none of the funky stuff I find in a lot of jerky! Not exactly "jerky" as its more sausage-ish, but it does the trick. I've really tried to like pork rinds, but I just can't seem to do it. I've tried probably half a dozen…
  • I buy the frozen stuff. I use it so often, buying pre-made saves me a good bit of time on meal prep. I do find that it has more moisture than fresh, but cooking it on a very high heat seems to help get rid of the extra water without sacrificing the texture. My current obsession is salsa chicken "rice" bowls!
  • I love Healthful Pursuit/Leann! I often maker her recipes and, since I am not diary free, I will sub in dairy or add dairy (CHEESE!) as desired. You do have to remember to adjust the macros/calories, though, if you make any changes. I really like her "one size does NOT fit all" approach to Keto. She is well versed and…
  • I think if you can eat it in moderation, and it fits within your macros, then it's fine. I ran out the door this morning without eating a proper breakfast (I knew better!) and half way through my errands, I was a hungry, crabby mess! Split a bag of jerky with my kiddos, and we all survived to dinner! :) I definitely opted…
  • Fat bombs! <3 There are some excellent recipes on Pinterest, and probably here if you hunt for them, for yummy fat bombs that are 100% Keto and will help satisfy your cravings for something carby/sweet. They are my go-to for a chocolate fix. :)
  • Love, love, love Fitness Blender!! I have been using the 5 Day HIIT for Busy People and it is amazing! Very seriously thinking about doing a round of FB30. I think it would totally be worth the $15 investment.
  • I am a HUGE Fitness Blender fan! I love their videos! I am currently cycling through the "5 Day HIIT Challenge for Busy People" and loving it! The workouts are only about 30 minutes but they get the job done! I have definitely noticed my weight loss speed up since I started doing the videos. The great thing about their…
  • [quote="simply_bubbz;34727325" Is fitness blender on youtube? [/quote] Yes, they are. Or you can go to their website directly, www.FitnessBlender.com. The website allows you to search a little more accurately, it also has a nifty calendar feature so you can queue up your workouts in advance.
  • I love Fitness Blender! They have tons and tons of free workouts. Or you can buy a 'plan' if you want something more structured. They also have an app, that makes quickie workouts super easy. I've also used BeFiT on YouTube. Very similar to Fitness Blender, I just happen to like the FB workouts better.
  • I use Pacer on my phone and sometimes MFP will not sync them right away. If I close down MFP and then reload it, that usually does the trick!
  • Calabacitas!! (This recipe is very close to how I make mine: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/213707/calabacitas-con-elote-zucchini-with-corn/) I don't really need an excuse to make it because its one of my favorite veggie dishes, but I almost ALWAYS make it to go with fajitas. You can change it up all sorts of different ways…
  • A cup of cottage cheese and 1/4 cup PB&J granola. 333 calories of pure yum! :D
  • The biggest thing is making sure your asthma and allergies are well controlled. If you aren't on a prevention med for either/both, you may want to talk to your Dr. about it. It can make all the difference in the world. If they aren't severe enough for a control med, maybe using your rescue inhaler and taking an allergy…
  • HAHA! I totally did too! I was unreasonably excited that perhaps someone had posted a recipe for "healthy" buffalo wings! :D OP: I agree with what others have said. Time, some weightlifting, and maybe a really good moisturizer will all help. But mostly time. Great work on your weight loss so far! Don't get discouraged, you…
  • Yes! I have been making coconut oil "fudge" for a long time and it always hits the spot! This is the recipe I use: 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil 1/2 cup organic cocoa powder 1/8 cup raw honey (or to taste, may need more or less depending on how sweet you want it) dash of vanilla Sometimes I'll add a little bit of all natural…
  • I think OP is referring to the company: https://www.epicure.com/en
  • YES!!!! This is spot on!! Excellent wisdom!!
  • I completely understand your sentiment. I really struggle with compliments when it pertains to my weight. It seems like just when I'm doing well and people start noticing, I fall off the wagon. I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing this for ME. My health, my well being, my joy. And really, I can only do it…
  • I love your motivation and enthusiasm! I am right there with you. One day at a time. Some days I feel like I will never get there, so I have to remind myself that TODAY I can. I can eat right, move more, log honestly. And tomorrow I will deal with tomorrow. Today has enough worries of its own! Congrats on the one year…
  • I haven't really told anyone, with the exception of my husband. For me it is really a psychological thing. I am a lifelong habitual yo-yo dieter. And if I tell people, then when I fall off the wagon, I have this awful guilt/shame thing I go through. Its so unhealthy! So, this time around, I've decided to take baby steps,…
  • The moment you realize that the reason you keep having to pull your jeans up isn't because you accidentally grabbed the same ones you wore yesterday off the floor, its because they're TOO BIG!! So you do a little happy dance in your office. And then pull them up again. Because nobody likes to see buttcrack at work...
  • I think it really depends on what you want to track. I like to use Pacer to track step counts. It helps me keep an eye on my baseline activity level and helps me set small, attainable, daily goals. It is very simplistic, not a lot of bells and whistles. A lot of people really have success with the different FitBits, with…
  • Just a few weeks ago. I was almost 60 days logged, 10lbs down, and doing really well. But stress, kid birthdays, and general laziness put an end to that. I was spent. Tired of logging, tired of counting calories, just tired. It was really disappointing. But, I decided that being fat is hard, and losing weight is hard. I…
  • For me, personally, the concept of a "cheat meal/day" is a very slippery slope. One meal turns into a day, turns into a week, turns into gaining back 5 lbs of the weight I just worked so hard to lose, turns into me giving up. But I know that I struggle with that and the only way for me to stay on track is to keep myself…
  • It is super common after c-sections. A lot of is has to do with the fact that they have to cut through the abdominal wall as well as all of the muscle there. Often times, a tummy tuck is the only way to get rid of it and they do that by pulling the abdominal muscles back together and then removing the extra skin. You are…
  • I had a pretty crummy weekend and honestly, I felt like poo after. Not to mention the disappointment of breaking a pretty solid losing streak. :( But I logged it all, dedicated myself to picking right back up where I left off, and moved on. I find drinking a ton of water helps, as does making a point to move more. Go for a…
