Around 20 lbs.

I have learned that fruit or vegetables are lower calorie per serving and satiety lasts longer. If I eat primarily carbs at a sitting, then I will be hungry sooner. I find that splitting my days calories into 5-6 "meals" really helps me.

According to the BMI charts and strictly height and weight, I will be overweight instead of obese at 174. So, that is my first goal weight.
-
OP, what is your current height and current weight?
-
-
I go to the gym 3 days a week minimum.

THIS!

If I were you, I would set my activity level to "Active" and set a 1lb loss goal. After a month on that plan, adjust if the loss isn't consistent with a 1lb per week.

I agree with the other commenters. It is unfortunate, but you have the opportunity to Inspire him by showing him how much better you feel eating healthy and how much more energy you have by including more movement in your day! I wish you tons of luck in this journey.

Done! I look forward to seeing yours as well!

This is very discouraging and confusing to see the possibility of feeling more hungry during maintenance than while losing. I am inspired by all of the supportive people helping out the OP!

Sounds delightful! Maybe play the role you want him to play; show him how its done! Giving CAN be as satisfying, if not more satisfying than receiving!

I usually find that I do that because I am not tuning into my emotions. My feelings about whatever is going on in my life will find whatever distraction they can (usually focusing on food)!

I say weekly!

I went to the grocery store to buy myself food before work, instead of "just figure it out at the office when I'm reday to eat". I knew that would make for bad choices, so I chose the prepared route!

What a rare thing. It is very hard to stay within cal goal when going out twice in one day. I would: remember that it is ONE day. It won't make or break your year! Maybe: Work out in the morning. Eat when hungry. Stop before full. You are already being very conscientious about it all, so I imagine that will lend to…

I joined in August with 50lbs to lose. My goal was 1lb per week average. It has worked out! I have slipped off logging probably a couple dozen days spread out. The key of course is to forgive self and move forward. Having the right friends that like and comment your accomplishments, as well as being there for them in the…

I will look older if I lose weight.
-
So, 155lbs and how tall are you?
-
Oh, sorry. You did list your weight in kg.
-
How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
-
I overeat at a particular meal when it is really tasty, I am out to eat, or I have gone too long without eating and started out "starving" (even though I am no longer hungry probably a third of the way through my plate).

I bought two new pair of jeans that are a little tight now and got rid of two. When the next two pair of older jeans get too big I will buy two more. The two I recently bought will still fit (since I bought them tight and have been washing them in cold and hanging them to dry for now) because I will wash/dry in hot when I…

I'm having this issue right now. Sigh. I am chewing gum, but it is the last piece I have here at work. Hopefully once it loses its flavor I will be over the false need to eat more!

I would consider a casual walking speed for 6 hours everyday as active. Although, I do like the idea of not changing anything on MFP and seeing how your weight is affected. If more than 2lb loss per week, I would change to lightly active.. then if still the same result after two weeks of that test, change to active. Losing…

Whatever you find makes you feel best. I started out with and like to do it once a week, but even that is 'obsessive' for me with my mind on the subject, etc. Once a month gives me anxiety too since I like to know the results of my efforts more frequently than that- so I can adjust if needed. So, I intend to go with twice…
