I use half and half and call it a day. Too much HWC messes my stomach up and I haven't been able to properly digest dairy mild in 20 years.

LCHF yes, Keto not necessarily. I do keto most of the time but some carbs are worth it.

My oven's heating element went out 2 years ago and we've yet to replace it. The stove top works, we have a roaster oven, a slow cooker, a microwave, and a toaster oven. A slow cooker and/or roaster oven would increase the number of recipes he can use.

We make taco salads, meat and tomato sauce over eggplant, and a veggie soup. We've also used it for meat loaf

If you drink BPC you could try adding an egg for protein. As gross as it sounds, and it does, its actually pretty good.

I'm keeping my slow cooker but considering an instant pot so I appreciate this thread. Will be following.

This is timely as my insurance just raised the copay on my OneTouch Ultra supplies. I've been checking into the Relion brand and considering paying out of pocket because its cheaper than the copay, by a significant difference. I've noticed that the OneTouch tests a few points higher than the labs so I'm not expecting 100%…

I think its more important to ask one's self why the eating habits of others are so upsetting. Someone doesn't want to eat gluten and they're not Celiac - so what? Who or what are they harming by cutting out gluten? Considering the foods gluten is found in, they're probably cutting out a ton of calories void of any…

30% carbs - it depends on who you ask. The standard low carb dieter would find that high but when I was given a "low" carb diet by 2 different dietitians (fully accredited, not nutritionists) 30% was considered low. I personally don't care for a low fat diet but I know people who have a hard time eating a higher…

Round and round we go. It all comes down to personal preference. If low carb works for one, its perfectly fine if it doesn't work for someone else. Same with low fat, vegan, paleo, counting calories, intuitive eating and so on.

I have no idea what this tastes like as I literally just Googled it but I just bought some flax meal and plain Greek yogurt at Aldi and I may need to try it. I don't have the protein powder, though. http://the-lowcarb-diet.com/low-carb-overnight-flax-meal/

Update...recent blood work shows a greatly decreased A1C, perfect lipids and electrolytes, and low iron. The iron explains the fatigue and I'm not on a supplement + a vitamin C to help with absorption . My BS is still a bit too high but so much better the doc says if I keep it up I may be able to stop the Glipizide…

It does feel like high school sometimes and I get enough of that at home, lol. Though with 2 teenagers passive aggressive buttons and a few well chosen emoticons could make things easier. Or not. I can see that going either way. However, if it were MY high school years the buttons would be "whatever," "as if," and a yellow…

Or people can just be grown ups and say what they mean without intentionally being a jerk if they feel they must be rude to others. Sorry, but these new reaction buttons feel negative and there is more than enough of that in MFP . I see no reason to make it easier.

As the "all foods in moderation" crowd likes to point out, sugar is sugar. For me my body reacts the same to an apple as to a chocolate bar.
-
Some people do well quitting something cold-turkey and others need to back down a bit more slowly. As long as the end result is the same its all good to me.
-
So far I've managed to do 1 LS mile (in addition to my lunchtime walk) every day but 2. Its getting easier.
-
Sorry, but the tone of your posts sounds like you're telling people what they should do based on what works for you. You're telling people they HAVE to track in order to lose weight and we're saying that's not necessarily true.
-
Who is to say someone is wasting a month? Maybe it would be to you, but someone else may have issues related to food/eating that need to be dealt with before worrying about a deficit. You don't know what someone else is dealing with.
-
This is me, too. I can track every once in awhile but every day I start getting anxiety. Its just easier for me all the way around to limit the food types.
-
I don't have an open diary but you don't need dairy for LC or keto. Your fat sources can come from your proteins plus oils like coconut and olive or from avocados.

People lost weight for eons without counting calories, or even knowing what a calorie is. I'm not knocking someone who counts calories, whatever works is all good, but I'm not understanding this need to tell people what they need to do. You did it on a different thread as well. The great thing about this group is that…

Bullet proof coffee. Or just whatever coffee from the store with flavored syrups (they make sugar free) in the blender with whatever cream you use and make it frothy.

1 LS mile in. 5 yoga poses. I won't be able to get my lunch walk I today so I may need to go to the gym this evening.
-
Put mine in the wrong thread. Walking and yoga are my goals. I'm adding Leslie Sansone to the mornings followed by a few yoga poses.
-
Some days I'm full of motivation. Today I'm dragging it behind me, kicking and screaming. Today determination is winning over motivation and commitment.
-
Continuing my walking but I will be adding in a Leslie Sansone walk first thing in the morning. I think I need to kick it up a notch or two. I'm also planning to start adding a tiny bit of yoga in the morning. Mostly a few stretches, though I may go all out and turn on the DVD.

That's pretty much how I ate through high school right up until diabetes kicked in. I struggled with it for awhile afterwards, too, until I figured out the LC thing.
-
I'm not so good at IF at this point either. I've tried it a few times and I honestly don't get this euphoric sense of energy and non-hunger that everyone talks about. Plus I haven't noticed it doing anything regarding blood sugar. Maybe it will come in time? At this point I'm good with waiting for it to happen naturally.
-
I won't be doing any jumping jacks, though I would consider side steps. Or squats. I will still be in 2 walking challenges for June so I'll be continuing that and I think adding some type of yoga. I don't think I will take up the push up challenge again right now.
