Hi: I have worked in China. If you are going with a tour, they will most likely take care of where you eat and what you eat - there are a lot of street food vendors. The food can be good but you should be careful of just in terms of getting sick, and many many small restaurants. Small restaurants often just serve one or…

5. 7" and 120 pounds - usually a 6 - but I am not good at buying pants - hard to find the right fit

I use yoga and pilates as well as weights for toning - :glasses: good luck

Well, salmon is good and good for you. I bought some falafel to have on Ash Wednesday and I was thinking of making some lentil soup - other bean dishes are also great (e.g., make a vegetarian chili) or vegetarian quesildilia with peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheese - whatever you like just not the meat). I'm giving up wine…

From an article in today's Washington Post and a book by Denise Austin - additions to water slices of cucumber (this is really refeshing) orange wedges shredded ginger mint leaves chopped strawberries two splashes of grapefruit juice (I love this) lemon slices (use this a lot) a peppermint tea bag green tea drops (I just…

I use hatha yoga (which is on the list of exercises) for both yoga and pilates - :glasses:

Try to find some good whole leaf green tea - not the stuff they sell in tea bags. If you don't live in an area where you have tea shops or places that specialize in tea, try the internet - Good luck and green tea is really great and good for you.

It isn't the butter - a tsp of butter is only about 30 calories - so, it is more about the bread and cheese that you use (and how much) :glasses:

FOOD IS NOT ABOUT HISTORY - IT IS WHAT YOU EAT AS A PART OF YOUR LIFE/CULTURE - WE DON'T EAT/DRINK THE SAME THINGS THAT OUR ANCESTORS DID - AND WE DON'T EAT THE SAME FOODS AS PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD - THIS IS ALL NONSENSE ABOUT WHAT TO EAT AND NOT EAT. DO WHAT MAKES SENSE TO YOU AS A PERSON - YOUR FAMILY,…

Yes, I am sure that I need new shoes - but have to wait until I get back home to buy them - so for now, a break from running and using the bike / strength training for exercise. :glasses:

I work in the tropics - and everyone here just gets up with (or before) the sun and goes out to exercise in the morning. Some folks also swim at the beach in the evening to cool down. Everyone is different - I don't mind the heat at all - it is when I am back in the US and it is winter & freezing that I hate to go outside.…

Glad to see this thread. I started running this spring to work up to running in a 5k with my daughter in November. The last two weeks I was running on a regular basis and now both of my knees are aching - I can bike without a problem (fortunately because that is how I need to get around) and walking isn't too bad. I am…

Weigh yourself no more often than once a week - and don't expect to loose more than 1 pound per week - add in more exercise - don't give up - good luck :glasses:

I love my teas - but drink the good stuff - the whole leaf teas (organic if available) - in the US these can be a bit expensive but so much superior to the scraps they put in tea bags. Some of these teas you can order on-line if not available to you in local markets - enjoy :glasses:

There aren't that many calories in a tsp of sugar - I always use regular sugar or honey if I sweeten lemonade or tea - just use a little bit and log it in - if you only usse it on occasion it won't add up to that much - :glasses:
-
Welcome - you could probably just put the hula hooping in as general aerobics exercise by the amount of time you do it - good luck:glasses:

The scrambled egg calories might include some oil/butter calories since these are sometimes used in the pan before scrambling :glasses:

Strongly agree with using the metro - you can get where you need to go without the headaches of DC traffic and the high cost of parking. You can find a wide selection of hotels surrounding metro stops (as well as a wide variety of restaurants throughout the city) - take a look at restaurant reviews through the Washington…

I also prefer am workouts - like many have said, it gives me a energy boost for the day. I usually have some green tea and yogart/ or cereal with milk before the work out and then eat something else a little bit after i come home from working out - :glasses:
-
congratulations -
-
I have also used the Fage greek yogart - you can add fresh spring onions and just a dash of salt - then let it drain for about an hour if you want it to be a bit thicker. It is really good and good for you (hummus is also great) :glasses:
-
I also take "off" on Sundays - but I don't just sit around - so for example today I will most likely walk to the pool and swim a bit - I just don't track it and if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. The other days i workout between 45 to 90 minutes/day depending on how much time I have - I also have long intense work…

I agree with Dave - I enjoy food but cook my own food - I use sugar, butter, cream, etc., but in moderation rather than anything "fake" - I always buy good basic food and use a few ingrediants, and you will have a great meal. I don't consider my eating "clean" - I still have wine and enjoy a pizza on occasion - just common…

Log as circuit training - about 200 calories :glasses:

Stop thinking in days - look at the bigger picture and see how you look over several days or a week - think in terms of average calories per day in a week - this is how I have approached it and it seems to work (this includes sometimes eating exercise calories and sometimes not all of them) :glasses:
-
Good morning - the recipe sounds yummy - and I have the ingredients! - just picked up some feta cheese yesterday (one of my favorites) - thanks, :glasses:

Good morning to everyone - one of the benefits of the regular exercise is a better night sleep - this doesn't mean I still don't occasionally wake in the middle of the night listing everything I need to do the next day - but I do generally sleep more soundly. I have also found that the exercise helps with jet lag…

Good morning - I am trying to get more outdoors workouts now that the weather is warm - the pool is one option (though I am not a great swimmer), and I am also starting to run. My goal is the Thanksgiving 5K - so several months to work towards that goal. I am increasing my time/length each week - running 3 to 4 days each…
