  • *Pokes head around the virtual door* Hi guys. Room for a not-so-little one who needs to get back on the wagon? Sorry to have just upped a left without a word. Things have been hellish of late and I've slammed myself off the wagon into a wealth of unhealthyness. I'm back at nearly my highest weight. I'm so sorry to have let…
  • Sorry guys, I know I've been AWOL. A whole load of junk going on in my life and I just caved. Been eating my emotions, have no doubt gained back everything plus some and am at a very low ebb right now. Back on the wagon tomorrow though and wholeheartedly into the next challenge.

  • I'm going to do it down an old track I used to ride down- NEVER sawa nother person, which means I won't be seen embarrassing the hell out of myself
  • Sorry, sorry. Can't guarantee I'll be around too much these next few weeks, I'm afraid. My dissertation is due the 24th and I've just made a massive change in terms of structure. Factor in a job hunt, moving home (not just in terms of the physical moving- it gives me other priorities that just don't exist in my student…
  • Sorry, I'll catch up with everyone later... I just need to get this off my chest. Parents had a huge row earlier, one of the worst I've seen. I don't know the full details, as I had to take the dog out, he was shaking so much (which shows how bad the row was- AND my mother would normally stop dead in her tracks if he got…
  • Personally, I wouldn't make a habit of it. Try to keep your food calories and excercise calories equal within the day. That said, once in a while won't kill you. If you go to your goals page, you can see how many calories you need to maintain your weight. Keep under this number and, as a one-off, you should be fine

  • Garp (cat)- lost a leg in an accident and despite still being able to open a door outwards to sleep in the airing cupboard, and drag a rabbit carcass that was bigger than him (he was a small cat) through a window 6 feet up, decided he was unable to push open a light door, so would headbutt my bedroom door until I let him…
  • The other day, I got home from the supermarket with loads of shopping to bring in, so, in order for me to keep the front door open, rather than having to faff around, I told our dog to go lie on his bed. He threw a right temper tantrum! Growled (in a non-agressive way, more like a grumbling noise but I can't fully describe…
  • Wow, sorry, I've missed so much. Lauryn, I'm so sorry to hear about your job. Something will come along though- you're a good person and someone up there must surely look out for you and not let you come to harm. My thoughts are with you :flowerforyou: Well, I'm a disaster area. Gained six (SIX!!??) pounds the last two…
  • Interesting- so, I fall off the wagon and still lose weight. I get back ON it and I gain? I guess it's just caught up with me. Damn. That'll teach me. Sorry I've been AWOL- busy times. :flowerforyou:
  • What on earth?! I've lost 0.2lbs. Okay, not much but I really thought I'd have GAINED. Not that I'm complaining. Wow.
  • Have reported it. We seem to be on friendlier footing now. And I tried steering back to the original topic  I'm hoping that BG's absence means that she has things under control, or at least knows a direction to take. It's a tricky position to be in, I'm sure, at any age
  • Celery can also be stripped string by string. Cherry tomatoes, cucumber, melon are also good if it's a boredom eating thing. If it's physical hunger, try drinking some water- hunger and thirst can often be confused. Before work, try getting some complex carbs and some protein in as they're slow burning foods which won't…
  • Does that burn calories, then? I wish! I will just point out my mum was quite young when she had me (pregnant at 19, gave birth at 20). Which brings us back to one of the original topics of young mums balancing parenthood with still growing up themselves. I've not turned out too bad, I hope (however much Dave may…
  • Uh, at risk of being lynched... I wasn't born yet. My mum was only 14
  • I've notified a moderator, just to let everyone know. I think things have got out of hand here.

  • And do we have proof that this is a "mockery"? No. So, I say nicely- drop the issue. If you have a real problem, report to Mike. Otherwise, please play nicely.

  • Okay, Zen-time is over. Let's stop this, okay? No fighting, it's not why we're here
  • okay guys, enough, okay? We're here to lose weight; let's not get into fights.

  • wow, that sounds lousy. I hope this week is better for you. At least you managed to get your assignment off your laptop AND you got to the gym (which is more than I can say), so well done you! :flowerforyou:
  • Who knows. It could be a mum who lost her child young and now wishes to still be a part of that community. I try not to leap to conclusions. (It just shocks me that for once I'm succeeding in my endeavors.)
  • I'm not normally Zen. I normally live up to the red-headed Aries thing to an insane degree. Can an excess of caffeine mellow you out? Or maybe my little (*ahem*) tantrum earlier got everything out of me...
  • I don't know the full story- none of us but LCA/FC can know. I once had a friend who lied through her teeth for sympathy and attention- sad thing was, her life was pretty dire as it was, but she was unwilling to tell the truth as to why she needed help- just that she did need help and tried to get it in any way possible.…
  • *Shrugs* Somone asks, I shall answer. It provides me with means of procrastination and who knows what's going on behind the avators and screen names? and if the advice goes unheeded or is unneeded by the original poster, maybe someone else can gain from it. Even if that someone is just me, figuring things out as I write.…
