  • So proud of you and happy for you. This is a website designed to promote health and fitness, which is not solely about weight loss. Find your healthy place and hold on to it. You're doing a great job.
  • *whistle* Great job! You look so good!
  • Something so many people (including those here) seem to miss is that sometimes it isn't merely the cost of the food that hinders those in the lower socioeconomic bracket to eat poorly. Pots, pans, crock pots, cooking utensils, stoves, etc also cost money. Yes, people can and do shop around, even at thrift stores, and find…
  • I drank Shakeology for a few months and then lots of coaches started pushing the cleanses (3-days or more of mixing the shake with plain water 3x a day). At that point I started breaking out in hives all over my body every time I had a shake. There was zero way to narrow down what was causing such a severe allergic…
  • My husband got me a pair of Zumba shoes for Christmas and they have been amazing. They are so light weight and I noticed after my first class with them that my knees and ankles weren't hurting anymore and that my feet weren't cramping up. Definitely worth the investment.
  • I actually am more consistent with my exercise than I am with my food. I typically stay close to my calorie range, but I do go over on a regular basis. I'm doing Jillian Michaels Body Revolution and have seen the most body fat % loss from her workouts. I guess any weight training focused program would be best.
  • I'm kicking myself for skipping a week and a half. I'll be finishing just after the deadline!
  • Major changes in your entire body. Congratulations!
  • Workout 9 is hard. I can't figure out how to get back up for rock and roll squats. All those planks in the beginning kill. I like 10 a little more, because I have stronger legs than I do arms so it's a little easier to manage. Cardio 3 is also pretty awesome because of the shorter intervals. Even though the exercises are…
  • I finished Phase 2 today. Starting 3 tomorrow. A little nervous, but I'm ready!
  • It all depends on your diet and exercise during pregnancy, and a pretty big dose of your genes. You can keep from gaining too much weight by continuing to eat healthy foods. You can keep your body fairly fit and prepared for labor by doing light to moderate exercise (depending on what your OB clears you for and what feels…
  • I think it's just an overall lower impact workout, even if it is longer. The shorter workouts without EZ after them are more intense, in my opinion. Also, I think the EZ ones have very few or no HIIT intervals.
  • I only lost 7 lbs and about the same in inches during phase 1. I'm even more nervous about what my phase 2 numbers will be in 2 weeks because I took a week off for a vacation. =/
  • I've felt this way with nearly every workout. The first time is brutal and I feel like I'm not getting anything done because I have to modify. By the second week I'm amazed at how much I am capable of. Keep trying!
  • Her cookbook does have more information in it about nutrition. She goes through lots of ingredients and explains what they do to your body and how they improve overall function. As far as her website is concerned, if you're going to do the recipes/meal plan then it's worth it for the grocery shopping lists. It's basically…
  • I just started going to the gym and doing extra cardio. I'm hoping it speeds up my results, but honestly I just needed to get the heck out of this house! I'm getting cabin fever here with it being summer vacation and everyone being home/having no classes myself.
  • I don't think a ban is necessary, however it would be nice to see portion sizes shrink. I've heard many people say that other countries have "large" meals that are the same size as our "small" meals in restaurants. No one needs 32 ounces of soda (diet or not) in one sitting or the equivalent of 3 potatoes worth of french…
  • I think it depends on the exercise, but I usually go for range of motion. Many times during the workouts, Jillian will say "Do as many as you can" and "good form is key!" ---so that tells me that doing the exercise correctly is more important than doing it halfway or with bad form, even if I can do it 25 times. You're…
  • You'll get back to it. It's always better to let that injury heal than to push it and really hurt yourself. I had to take a week off a few months ago when I hurt my hip/lower back. Hope you get better soon.
  • Thanks. =) I guess it may be more difficult to see since I see myself every day. I'm not giving up. I think I just expected the weight loss to be more, since people tend to lose 30-40 lbs on the program. I'm not following the meal plan because the recipes are sort of elaborate, but I picked a few recipes that are simple…
  • But that's the thing... why compare it to crap food? People, especially those of us trying to lose weight, have plenty of options besides fast food or Shakeology. I can eat healthy meals all day long for less than $2-$4 a piece.
  • On top of the $120, it's around $20 per bag to ship as well (unless you sign up as a coach and get the discount and/or get the autoship every month, but you still pay $40 to start up coaching and $15 per month to continue being a coach.) I used it for a couple of months last year, then started drinking it again in January.…
  • Oh god. I died laughing.
  • Oh, and be sure to ask how close the dress runs to the measurements. I might even go with the 20 due to the hip measurement. Especially if the dress isn't A-line and is more of a fitted skirt.
  • I would go with the 18 because the odds of you losing another 5 inches off of your waist in 10 weeks are slim. Alterations can be done the same day, but they might cost a bit more that way. It just depends if the bridal store will do them or if they expect to have weeks to get it back to you.
  • Raze and seconding lots of bands like DC Talk, Toby Mac, etc.
  • It depends on the -type- of food they're eating. Fruits and vegetables take up a lot more space in our stomachs than most processed foods, and are usually way lower in calories as well. If someone is eating only clean foods, it's very possible that they can hardly make themselves eat 800 calories. If they're eating…
  • Are you looking for something that fills you up or are you trying to get more nutrients for less calories? Both? I use Shakeology, which is more meal replacement but does have high protein and nutrients and it's very filling. I have used the Myoplex (I think) and those have a lot of protein and taste good, but they don't…
  • It's a process for everybody. If someone can begin cutting back on their calories by subbing in lower calorie options, they will eventually begin using less and less of items and gradually shifting their food choices for better things. Yes, higher sodium and sugar might be a side-effect for a while, but not forever. There…
  • I've seen plenty of people suggesting a change in the types of foods (which is good), a few suggesting eating even less calories (which is bad) and no one really telling the OP she needs to move more. Exercise builds muscle, muscle burns more calories and increases your metabolism. Instead of trying to cut even more…
