I'm the same! Don't beat yourself up, it happens to most people at least once if not more. You've already taken the first step by recognising it, now just go back to what you were doing before and you'll soon be back to where you were. Good luck!

I'm back after some time off. Want to lose those last stubborn few pounds! I'm in the UK. Feel free to add me :-)

I think you're actually agreeing with him - he's saying that people often find fad diets impossible because completely cutting out everything that's not 100% 'healthy' (such as the odd cookie at work) is unrealistic.

My workplace is a lot like this. Whenever someone has a birthday, just got back from vacation, had success in some project etc its normal for them and others to bring in cakes and candy. If I were you I would learn to say no to food actually in the office (some good tips from others on here), but still try and go along…

This was me too! I started running earlier this year and am really proud of myself for what I have achieved - I couldn't run more than two minutes when I started out and now I can run 10k (slowly, but I get through it!) But my eating didn't really improve so I didn't actually lose any weight. I plan to start focusing on my…

Congrats! I'm also getting married in December 2013, feel free to add me!

I had a terrible day at work once, bought two krispy kreme donuts at the station and ate them both on the train home. I didn't feel much better afterwards either, won't be doing that again!

27, trying to lose the last 15 but mostly just want to be fitter :-) I run three times a week, working up to a 10k right now.

Feel free to add me, I'm from Essex!

Haha I'm so not cool enough to say this, but yeah ok I'll bring it.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I would have been really, really upset as well. My guess is you'll feel better about it tomorrow, and better still the day after, until it eventually won't bother you anymore. Please don't stop walking with your daughter. Hope you're ok xxx

Me too!! I'm always a lot more happy and carefree at the weekends as I don't have to work - sometimes that translates into thinking I can just eat whatever I want. I find making sure I'm a little bit under during the week helps, so I can save up a few extra calories for the weekend. Also, I find if I can avoid drinking too…

I'm in the UK and I'm nice - I think! Sending you a friend request.

Looks like there are quite a lot of us :-) I'm 27, I've just added you. Anyone else can add me too!

Wow you look gorgeous!! Well done!

I think it's a British thing. I'm British too, so for me it's usually English breakfast tea with (skimmed) milk. It's not too bad, only around 10 calories I think. But most of the non-Brits I've met think it's a bit weird. When I lived in Belgium, I went to visit my (Belgian) friend one day and when she asked what I'd like…

I'm proud for completing Couch to 5k! I was a complete non-runner two months ago.

Haha...another Brit here. Dairy milk means chocolate for us - definitely my favourite source of milk!! :D To answer the question, I've never really considered this before but may look into switching now. Thanks for the info.

I have wondered this too, although I can sort of see how it happens. I gained 20 pounds in a couple of years and I just stopped wearing my tailored clothes and wore a lot more stretchy jumper dresses and looser fitting stuff so I didn't have to buy anything new. I decided to lose weight when I got to the point when even my…

Thanks so much everyone! I was feeling really demotivated after work but now feel inspired again to carry on running. Love MFP for stuff like this.
-
Thanks everyone for the replies!! That's really reassuring. I guess I will just keep at it then and try some of your tips to see if I can get faster in future. And avoid comparing myself to the girls at work :-)

ME TOO!! So funny that you posted this as I literally just got back from mine. I cannot believe I ran 20 minutes straight - I haven't done that since I was about 13. Feels amazing! Congratulations and keep it up - we will make it to the end!!
-
I'm on my last 15...is that close enough?? ETA: Oh, and I'm 27

Never heard that one before. I'm no nutritionist, but I think it's safe to say that is not true. The vast majority of people on here eat carbs after 4pm and are losing weight just fine!

Not sure if this helps, but I found that slowing my pace got me through week 4. I found week 4 to be a big step up from week 3 - I think most people find it difficult. The first day I had to stop half way because I started too fast and was too breathless to carry on. I tried it again the next day and the only thing that…

i tried it, but it wasn't for me. I just couldn't get through a whole day at work on 500 calories! I do know a lot of people who are doing it though and it seems to work for them. Particularly the men, for some reason!
