  • I was diagnosed with celiac on 5/1/2012 after a misdiagnosis of IBS several years earlier. My systems are still improving but are much better. I spent a month researching gluten free diet and began the life style on 6/1/2012. At first its overwhelming but with time and if you focus on a balanced diet of naturally gluten…
  • You may want to post in the group Gluten Free as they may have more answers for you. I agree with quinoa idea. Personally I prefer it in pasta form but either is great. I like to then find a GF sauce and saute veggies with sauce or seasonings for a yummy meal.
  • I dont know if you can use egg substitute maybe someone else knows.
  • what's nano? i believe its considered plagerism to use someone else's ideas even if they're not published...hope you have fun writing
  • I recommend the book Hypothyroidism Type 2: The Epidemic by Mark Starr that addresses this issue. My test results have been borderline but I suffer from many of the symptoms. I am trying to get a doctor that will base med on symptoms too. I am trying to see Dr. Starr because he lives in my city. Good luck with trying to…
  • Where did you find your animated images and how do you get them on here? Thanks
  • My cousin still takes armour and I couldn't find anything about it being taken off the market. Could you provide a link to this info?
  • I have hypothroidism too. I have gained weight every year for several years. Being on here is helping me lose weight. Granted its only a pound since 10-9 but its something. At least I am not gaining. You want to make sure your meds are the right dosage based on your symptoms and not just your lab results. This will help a…
  • The crockpot is a girl's best friend. With most crockpot recipes you just throw things in and wait for it to cook. A lot of times you can leave it to do that while you are at work. I would suggest reading the crockpot threads under the recipe section for some good ideas. Also another option is to pick up crockpot recipe…
  • You may want to check to see if there is a co-op in your area to help you save money or grow a garden if you have land. Also if your hours have been cut down that much you may qualify for food stamps which would help you out. Sometimes we need those things. Also look into food banks or local church pantries. Another great…
  • I have IBS and use to only go #2 every 3 to 5 days. I had a lot of problems. I started taking benefiber and increasing my fiber in my diet and I started being more regular. Three years after seeing my GI doctor I now go #2 one to two times on a typical day. I also get enough fiber in my diet now that I dont have to use…
  • Generally you would want to start at midnight. However, if you find using another 24 hour time period would work for example 6 am to 6am then go for it. The important thing is that you chart what you eat for each 24 hours. That's my take on it anyway...
  • There is a group on the boards for people that need to lose 100 or more lbs. It is a very encouraging and motivating group. We have a theme everyday for our discussions. Feel free to join us at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/128370-need-to-lose-100-lbs-or-more-lets-start-a-group
  • Losing more weight isn't going to change the way you feel about yourself. You have to change your thinking for that to happen. You may want to consider going to a counselor on campus (usually free) to help you with this process. Then you will have the right thoughts to go with your new body. I have the opposite problem I…
  • Thanks! We can definitely use your help around here. How much milk should I use? I plan on using almond milk. I don't like mashed potatoes without loads of gravy but dig cauli so I am not familiar with how much is used in mashed potatoes...
  • thanks for the help everyone!
  • My library carries tons of her cookbooks so I am just going to pick through them. Plan to put the ones I like on recipe cards...Just a thought for those that don't have the money or don't want to buy a book.
  • Awesome job! You are having some huge weight loss numbers...
  • CoryIda posted her recipe here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/127196-healthier-banana-bread-banana-muffins?hl=banana+muffins#posts-1726598
  • sounds yummy...i love cinnamon, nutmeg, and blueberries so I am definitely trying these...already wrote on recipe card
  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I think I am going to make some quinoa, chicken, and saute peppers, tomatoes, and onions to go with it.
  • thanks for the help everyone!
  • thanks for sharing! i won't be able to do that tonight as i don't have cranberries, but would love to know how to fix it for the future....
  • Awesome job!
  • For me I am just starting out and as I am restocking my kitchen I am only shelving healthy foods: fruits, veggies, lean meats, reduced fat stuff, and then I have no food that's unhealthy to eat. I would get rid of the unhealthy stuff but I don't have money to do that so I am just doing it as I run out. I also look at the…
  • One video is stretching, another strength and toning, and the last one is aerobic. All designed by a doctor that is known for her work with fibromyalgia. They have been recommended in several fibromyalgia books I have browsed. My library doesn't have any fibromyalgia workout videos as I have already looked. I plan on…
  • Thanks for all the ideas! I will definitely try the one with almonds someday because it looks really good. The turkey bacon looks great too. However I have neither in my house. I decided to bake the aspargus with olive oil, lemon pepper, garlic, and parmasean cheese. I can't wait for that and my tilapia to be done baking.
  • thank you ftchansen! what spices would you suggest that are good on aspargus?
  • I also have fibromyalgia along with hypothyroid, and chronic fatigue. I struggle with pain during exercise but know I need to get the weight off. I also am exhausted afterwards and many times take naps for several hours. I take my dog for short walks 2-3 times a day. I sometimes swim too. A YMCA or gym would have classes…
