  • All the animals need to be on a flea preventative. You may also want to talk to your vet about Capstar. Each of them should get a bath as well. Then you need a flea spray for the entire house and your cars. Wash everything you possibly can in HOT water. Vacuum everything you can, too--not just the rugs, but all upholstered…

  • The scale will change a bit as you move it around because the floor won't be completely level. You should always weigh yourself with the scale in the same place, on a hard flat surface. Just pick a spot and use it.
  • You really need to discuss this with your doctor.
  • Regularly getting insufficient sleep makes it more difficult to lose weight because it's stressful to your body and increases cortisol. When you're tired you'll feel hungrier and have a more difficult time staying on your plan.
  • I see a lot of people post that they do this, but I never have. If you are using a food scale and tracking everything, I don't really see the need.
  • I ignore the MFP sugar goal and always have. It's very low and as you've already found, a little fruit or dairy throws you right over it.
  • My dog prefers her own bed next to mine most of the time. She'll hop up in the mornings though. If we travel somewhere together, she generally wants to sleep with me on my bed.
  • She was wrong to insult you but where the hell did she think she got off touching your stomach?!:noway: Up to you how far you want to take that, but frankly that could be reported to HR.
  • Looking at your diary, you are eating FAR TOO LITTLE. 600-850 calories per day is not the way to go about this.
  • Love this!
  • Many items that are listed as "light", "low-fat" or "diet" replace the fat with loads of sodium and sugar to give the items flavor and texture. In those cases, I would much rather stick with the original food item.
  • Every woman on earth has experienced it. We live in a culture that promotes the idea that women's bodies are essentially public property. Until that changes, you'll be subject to public ridicule about your appearance every time there's another person who can see you.
  • I have had good luck with the Moving Comfort Maia Bras. http://www.movingcomfort.com/en_us/maia-sports-bra/350054.html If you have to order it online instead of trying it on, their sizing runs a little large in the band to me. You may also want to pick up a tube of Body Glide. Even with a very good sports bra, there will…
  • Because eventually eating at such a large deficit can hurt you. You'll be tired, grumpy, starving, perform worse in your workouts, maybe even get sick. MFP is trying to keep you at a manageable, consistent deficit every day so that you stick with it and lose the weight.

  • Maybe his phone has a wonky GPS signal then?

  • It sounds as though your GPS signal may have been lost a few times on your run. The difference is probably in the phones and their GPS capability.

  • Generally speaking, the nutrition information on the package is for the food as it came in the box unless it says "As Prepared". So with pasta, it's almost always dry weight. There are some entries in the database for cooked pasta, but these are usually estimates. The amount of water the pasta absorbs varies both by the…
  • I can do something like lift weights or walk pretty much immediately after eating. Anything that involves up and down movement, like running or a stair climber? No--I'd feel ill. Is there any way that you could incorporate a snack into your afternoon or ride home from work? Might be an easier solution.
  • If you aren't going to use the tools.....

  • If you are accessing MFP from a computer, you can opt to track Fiber in your diary. If you're accessing it from an app, it's in your daily nutrition.
  • If you are using MFP's guided settings, the program will prompt you to update your goals with each 10lb drop. If you entered customized goals, you will have to go in and recalculate everything on your own.
  • Hasn't happened to me. When you make a smoothie, you're incorporating a lot of air when you blend it. Air you swallow is going to come out one end or the other!
  • I am a firm believer that you log everything except plain water. Your log is your database. If it's full of inaccurate entries, then how can you go back through the log later to determine what works well for your and what doesn't?
  • In the case of Natalie Portman for Black Swan and Anne Hathaway for Les Miserables, insane crash dieting. Both of them talked about it in interviews.
  • I used to work out before work when there was a gym in our building. Saved me a lot of time vs. after work or at lunch because only 1 shower/hair/makeup routine. The only problem was readjusting the time I went to bed so that I got sufficient sleep.
  • Oatmeal is great and full of fiber! Go ahead and eat it!
  • For some reason, any hot liquid (including a cup of herbal tea) seems to quell hunger for a bit. If you want to use broth, just keep an eye on the sodium levels.
  • Generally speaking, no. A multivitamin is fine as insurance in case you don't get all your nutrients in a given day.
