  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/44693-tami-s-secret-to-skinny This answered my questions and cleared up my confusion. Check it out. Good luck.
  • Thank you for replying, and I too hope you can continue to motivate and inspire me (and I'm SURE many others here). Have a great day. Claire
  • Tami, I just saw this and want to tell you that you are truly an inspiration to me. You ROCK! I had a very bad week last week because I was eating too few calories and felt so deprived that I went and had a big binge. Feel bad- but am moving past it by upping my calories and starting over again anew. Did you ever have…
  • I too have this problem, recently I decided not to eat my calories burned and it seems to have helped a bit. It's too soon to tell but so far, it seems to be working. Just keep tweaking until something clicks I'd say. Good luck.
  • Granola bars: Fiber One Oats and chocolate Hummus: Whole Foods roasted red pepper hummus Mid day snacks: Nonfat yogurt, cottage cheese with fruit, string cheese and an apple Cereal: Fiber One, Cascadian Farms Ultra Slim Crackers: Lowfat Triscuts Spices: Cinnamon, black pepper, garlic All fruit. Yum.
  • I find that I require a lot more protein at breakfast to keep me running in the morning than at other meals or I suffer from the same problem. But if you're eating every three to four hours it shouldn't make that much difference anyway- right? The trick is obviously to find out which foods work best for you within your…
  • Slowly but surely getting better I think. It doesn't bother me much just walking on a flat surface, but climbing and descending stairs is where it gets tricky. I'm just giving it a rest for the last 2 days and today to see if it's better. Tomorrow I will get back at it but with low impact (no lunges) exercise. Thanks for…

  • That link is good also that's pretty much Jillian Michaels diet too. I was skimming through her new book at Target and she talk s about that a lot, so I didn't buy it - not ready to go there yet, but another lady is Jillian McKeith, she has a lot of books on the subject. Just go to your local bookstore or library and check…
  • I'm with the both of you. I was doing so well, then I hurt my knee and couldn't exercise and sorta lost momentum- next thing I know I had a one-night stand with the whole bakery. Ouch. Tomorrow is a new day so I will try to remember all the progress I've made and how good I feel when I am doing the right things.
  • I weigh in every day too. To remind myself that my weight doesn't define me but is just an informational tool. Also, I weigh naked, after I've gone to the bathroom, before I've ingested anything. Same thing every time. If you're weighing with all your clothes and shoes on after eating a drinking, you could easily fluctuate…
  • I have the BL boot camp and yoga and I like them both, although I just got them too. Love Bob's energy. I did Jillian's 30 day shred and I liked hers too (it's free on cable right now where I live Comcast) but I hurt my knee doing those power lunges, as soon as it feels better I'm getting right back at it because I'm still…
  • I do not. I think it defeats the purpose. Besides, you really don't know how many you're actually burning etc. Play it safe and don't, otherwise, why would we need to be so strict with calories in the first place? I came here and did this before and did eat my calories and it wasn't as successful as it has been for me this…
  • Thanks, I will try that.

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm a long-time exerciser and think I'm in decent shape cardiovascularly, however, I'm in need of upping my weight training. I do have a long standing weakness in the knee area so I'm always careful when doing lunges etc to watch my form. I thought I was doing okay and I stopped that particular…

  • Okay so yesterday I did Jillian's 30 day shred and my knee was bothering me during the lunges. Since then it has been sore and the outer part of the knee is achy. Does anyone know anything about this? SHould I stay off of it or can I still exercise? I don't want to lose my momentum. Thanks for the help.

  • I take soup to work , they have some yummy ones from Amy's Organic or whichever you like that is filling and satisfying. Or I too, take cottage cheese and fruit or cereal (Fiber One with fruit and I side of milk). Or a flax muffin and some string cheese. You can get creative and bring anything that will fit on your fridge.…
  • LOVE IT! Thanks, Claire:smile:
  • Thanks, I think there's something to that. I just had a ridiculous amount the last two nights and was wondering. Claire

  • Good for you drinking all that water. Since that's out of the way, at the very least I am hoping you recycle all of that plastic. At the most, please buy a water filter and a reusable water bottle so that you're not adding all that to the landfills. (sorry to bring reality here folks, but I can't help but think this when I…
  • I do that with my sweets I think. It's funny that you wrote this because last night I managed (for the first time in over a week) to budget in some calories for a treat and I savored that puppy! I took teeny, tiny bites and chewed them and thought, I wonder if this is how most people eat dessert? At any rate, it made me…
  • Thanks ladies, I suppose more is better in this individual instance. :drinker:

  • Okay, my new addiction has been hot tea after dinner. Many, many cups. Does anyone know if this can count towards my water consumption? It's herbal so there's no caffeine. Beyond that I hope it's okay for me- it's Good Earth Sweet and Spicy and it's delicious.

  • First of all, congratulations on losing 9 pounds, great job! Secondly, do not beat yourself up. You are doing this exactly the way you should, little steps at a time, don't overwhelm yourself by taking it all on at once- a recipe for failure. That being said, look at it from a different perspective, think how much more…
  • I don't know if this is too much for you but Whole Foods has great pre-cut veggies. I buy zucchini and some organic tomato paste, part skim mozzarella and sprouted grain torillas. Throw that all together and bake for 20-30 minutes and it's only 350 calories and 7 grams of fiber and a whopping 25 grams of protein. It's…
  • Be careful relying on exacts from a restaurant. I work in a restaurant, not there, but I know from experience, the people in back cooking are NOT measuring portions so use those numbers as a rough estimate and definitely round up generously. Just to be on the safe side. Sounds yummy though.
  • Heard that, I was v. curious to see this post... But Congrats to you, it motivates you forward huh?!
  • Happy Anniversary. You have so much to celebrate and be proud of yourself about. Are you treating yourself to anything special? Massage? Spa Day? etc.? Keep up the great work you're a hero to me!:smooched:
  • Does evaporated cane juice fall into this category?
  • Oh Lord, I sure hope this is another of those crazy misinterpretations! :drinker:
  • Um, yeah, it's back to day 1 for me as well. I jumped off of the wagon last night. Bad. I still went to the gym and burned a ton of calories, but I ate treats at the movies (within my caloric allotment) but on the way home I was legitimately hungry and then made some very poor choices. Oh well, I'm not going to beat myself…
