Is it the dairy you're after, specifically? There are various vegan ice creams eg Oat Supreme which is low-carb, but vegan.

My mum gave me The Talk about periods because I had seen the adverts in women's magazines and had no idea what they were for. We had lessons in school and she also bought me a book. I'm glad she told me - a friend whose parents didn't tell her about periods thought she was bleeding to death when they started. Plus, you…

i always had a big waist, that's my body shape. At the moment though the weight seems to stay there, even though I've lost 20lb it hasn't gone down. I've been trying really hard with abs (has flattened my belly a treat but no effect on the waistline) and with hula hooping and other stuff but it hasn't worked yet. In my…

Calorie counting works for me, and so does having the odd treat. I try to eat three decent meals and treats are on top if they fit into my allowance.

Yes! A friend got bitten while jogging, by an unleashed dog that was out of its owners control - the dog drew blood. She was too upset to get names and just wanted to get away so the guy got away with it - disgusting.
-
Hmmm... perhaps their parameters need some work...
-
I've no idea how these things work but have been looking round for ways to break a 6 week plateau so it's worth a try :-)
-
I've lost over 20lbs and my waist measurement hasn't changed. I feel your pain! What is finally starting to help is doing strength work focused on the abs, though it redistributes the belly at first so initially the measurements go up. Also, CV work like running.

What: that's me Where: a friend's wedding When: um... February 2009? Why: I don't like photos of myself and so there aren't many to choose from.

Yes, it's processed. If you cooked porridge from scratch it wouldn't take much longer and wouldn't be processed, if that bothers you.
-
Planking is good though for muscle definition you need repetitions. I'm also doing a hula hooping class which is brilliant for toning core muscles.
-
Yeah that does really suck, especially if you want to be but aren't :-( I've always had weak core muscles so this time round have been working really hard on my ab muscles. Even though I still have a ways to go with weight loss, it's changing my shape and posture and I carry the weight better. I'm sure something like that…

I go twice, but I also go to a ballroom and a tango class, so with cycling/walking to those and the dancing itself that's enough exercise for me ;-)
-
Never thought I'd be able to jog for 20 whole minutes... did that for the first time the other day. Very satisfying to feel so much healthier.
-
I live in a flat, and I don't do CV exercises at home out of consideration for the neighbours below and their two small children. That actually seems a pretty reasonable, pro-social attitude to me. Doesn't stop me cycling or walking everywhere or going to the gym, obviously...

Wow - you look gorgeous! Well done on all your hard work.

I know someone who did the candida diet (isn't the complete cycle something like six months?) because she suffered very badly and it really worked for her. She used to have awful symptoms that affected her mood and she hasn't had a recurrence of either so that's a win in both senses. So it sounds like unless it's going to…

Name/ real name: Christabel6/Kriss Goal weight on March 31: 11 stone 9lbs 3/1: 12 stone 3/4: 3/11: 12 stone 3/18: 12 stone 2 3/25: still 12 stone 2 :-( 3/31: 11 stone 13, finally some progress!

I don't think it's a weight thing, it's a balance thing. I do a tango class where you dance on the balls of your feet and women wear vertiginous spiky heels (it actually helps with your dance technique). There's a wide range of weights and it doesn't seem to be an issue.

You look great! Definite visible change around the middle especially. Well done you!

Height: 5'5" Age/Gender: 46 yo female Highest weight - 189 lbs Current Weight - 168 lbs Current body fat - 28% Lowest weight - 125 lbs very stressed in my early 20s, usually around 132. BMI of 21 but everyone said I looked far too thin. Goal weight - 154 lbs or under 25% Ideal weight probably around 147.

I pretty much get identified as English (which I am) or Irish (because of the hair). No way round that really :-(

I can only ever eat a small breakfast and like you end up having a large meal late and binging because I'm so hungry then. Having a snack at maybe 4.30 really helped me keep going - some dried fruit, a breakfast bar or something, nothing too much.
-
Wow - well done you!

Purrrr! You look great!

Macaroni with broccoli, asparagus and quorn roast slices in homemade cheese sauce. Surprisingly only about 450 calories or so.

Definitely ignore it. I think I'd feel less put out if someone ignored the message (but you can tell whether or not they've read it, right?) than if they wrote me a 'thanks but no thanks' message. They're very hard to get right and be tactful about. Basically if they haven't replied three days after they've read it, forget…

If you want to feed both meat-eaters and veggies then I suggest a roast dinner. Just make sure the roast potatoes, yorkshires, roast parsnips etc are cooked in olive oil rather than lard. Then you just have to make separate main dishes (ie whatever meat, plus a nut roast) and the rest of the meal is the same for everyone.…

I'm in, if there are spaces left. Hope to be able to get down to my target weight with this challenge!

As a feminist I believe that equality means women should do some of the uncomfortable stuff sometimes and not just leave it to the men, so I have asked men out or made the first move on a number of occasions. Have to say that a lot of men react very badly to this! They really don't like it at all, responses range from very…
