People always walk up to me and start speaking in Russian. It's kind of awkward. But I love listening to the language so I've never minded it.

I pretty much get identified as English (which I am) or Irish (because of the hair). No way round that really :-(

I'm just caucasian. Ghost white skin, light blonde hair and light blue eyes. Adopted, so my true heritage got sold for the lawyer's fees along the line. I'm not sure what it is for real. Some guesses have been Irish and German through the years.

Hispanic. People have come up to me and said things to me in Spanish with the assumption I understand them.

    I'm Black...

Bhahaha I get this all the time. Both my parents are full Italian. I can't tell you how many times people have approached me speaking Spanish or Arabic.

I thought the OP was Oriental until I read on.

Ummm...people still use "Oriental" to describe other people?

I've often been asked if I'm Turkish or Greek (more so when my hair is dark, right now it's blonder).

Being in Hawaii, folks think I'm Hawaiian.
Whenever I'm in the mainland / upper states, folks think I'm Mexican.

    I'm simply Samoan Japanese Portuguese.

    Malo, malo!

I'm a mish-mash of very white people (primarily French, French-Canadian, German, Irish, Scottish), yet I've been assumed to be Mexican. Granted, I grew up in San Diego where it's about 55% Hispanic (of some kind), but still... I'm very white. Not even a single drop of Latino blood in my ancestry.
