  • The 10% mark is correct as the bigger you are the more weight you will need to loose before it's really noticable. I can also say personally that roughly 10% weight loss is also the point where people started to notice I'd lost some pounds.
  • The best part is that I didn't track a single thing. It was just nice to know I've made some major improvements to my eating habbits and that one day I'll be able to maintain without tracking calories.
  • Sweet; I lost a car tire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • She chooses to be that way, you choose to not. (You should take it as a complement; you have a tight body)
  • Tell them to SFTU if they bother you; or politely tell them you have it under control. Either way, it's better to confront the people causing you to rant.
  • Isn't there only supposed to be like 2 curves on a woman's silouete? If you have one curve or eight curves your doing it wrong.
  • Vacaction? I'm only off work for 2 days; it will affect me less than being sick for the past couple weeks. However, I won't be tracking calories on Christmas day, but I didn't overdo it on thanksgiving so I doubt Christmas will be any different.
  • After a quick glance through this thread I think people are rating then adding 3 points for kindness.
  • Very noticable changes; good job! I have 3 friends who just gave birth this month and I already hear them worrying about loosing the weight.
  • Hahah that is one of the better NSVs I've heard and as someone with back problems I can relate. My only question is why didn't you loan her your copy of 1984?
  • First of all great work on the change of lifestyle; I'm sure it's done wonders for you. I'd also like to say thanks for the post about how other percieve you. It's nice to put things into perspective and it reminds me that every person you meet or know could have overcome many challenges to get to the now.
  • That's fantastic! I love coming to MFP to read the sucess stories forum because there are always amazing people like you who keep me motivated to reach my goals. Also, good job on loosing at a steady pace and sticking with it for the long haul. After 18 months it should be easy to make this a permanent life change for you;…
  • only 47??? you make it sound like it wasn't an accomplishement.... be proud of yourself for your determination
  • You could also buy fresh fruit in bulk while it's in season and can it yourself for the winter months. I've done some bulk canning with a couple of friends and it made for a fun way to spend a sunday afternoon. There's a pdf with some good information on canning fruit; it's really not that high in sugar (3/4 cup per 9…
  • No canned pumpkin????? Sorry :(
  • I've had it a few times; it sucks. I rarely drink soda, but if I do I'll opt for the full flavored version. Redbull made a cola drink that was all natural ingredients and it was amazing. Sadly, I think they stopped making it. If I ever buy soda for the house, (rare even before I started trying to lose weight) it's Coke in…
  • Swap out the yoghurt for a fat free greek yoghurt and add your own fruit to it (berries) as it will net you 4x the protien for the same calories (including the berries). For example you can 227g of greek yoghurt for 65 calories with 12 grams of protien. Add in another 30 calories of berries gives you a huge portion for the…
  • Honestly I knew a girl with scars and the only thing I ever said was that if she was tempted to do it again to let me watch. It was a joke, but I didn't think much of her having the scars since she seemed pretty well adjusted at the time.
  • The friends with benefits zone is where you put the attractive women who you could never seriously date. They are my favorite type of friends. Girls that get put in the friend zone aren't attractive to me. One of my closests friends is a female and I'm glad we never hooked up; we are actual friends.
  • 5-7 with a dead hang depending on how much energy I have, usually limited to 4-5 by my second set.... Goal is 25 for next year.
  • My friend Rachael tried to tell me that eating full fat dairy products is shown to reduce belly fat. I almost fell off my barstool laughing. Sadly calorie deficit is the only thing that works and I still have a lot of belly fat to burn.
  • I log my booze and set my daily goal lower than necessary to make up for it on a weekly basis. For me the worst thing about going out drinking is the temptation to eat after; vodka soda doesn't really have many calories.
  • The automatic protien goals on MFP are a touch on the low side, but you should aim for them as a baseline. Most people would recommend adjusting your macros to lower carbs and up your protien. That said there is a limit to how much protien your body can use over X amount of time. Generally if you are extremely concerned…
  • I'm a fan because it looks good in photos, but I don't really think it's all that necessary.
  • I've used makeyourownjeans to make me a pair of selvedge denim jeans; they are amazing, but I can't comment on the quality of their non-selvedge denim. I highly recommend them for a pair of proper fitting jeans; I'll probably order another pair when I get close to my goal weight as the my old ones are getting quite baggy…
  • I don't have a sweet-tooth so I don't have it very bad during the holidays; just a slice of pumpkin pie for me. Good luck with it and remember to log it all; especially if you know you are going to have issues with it. Try setting a reasonable goal for christmas day of 2.5k calories. As for the rest of the month, just keep…
  • QFT. Any fad diet will probably work since it puts you at a calorie deficit, but I'd strongly recommend you not cut the foods you love completely out of your diet. Ultimately you should find a way to incorporate them into your life if your goal is more than short term.
  • You will hear a lot of opinions on this as certain things you could do daily like ab workouts. Physically your major muscles do need recovery days, but mentally you should also give yourself some downtime. When I was getting close to 30 I went into extreme excercise mode and burned out pretty quickly after my first…
