I tried a cpl different times, different methods. Cold turkey was the only thing that worked for me. Be easy on yourself. This is hard, but achievable. If you gain a few lbs they will come back off.(I can tell you from experience) One thing at a time, and best wishes.

Fantastic program provided you are using proper form. It's not a bad idea to buy a few sessions with a trainer to have help getting form down. If that is not an option there are a lot of instructional videos you can find online.

I lost weight a total of 3 times in my life. I gained it back the first 2 times because I would deem specific foods and food groups as "bad" and would not eat them. I restricted calories excessively and did an unreasonable amount of cardio. While this approach was effective in making me lose the weight initially, it was…

Are you being monitored by a physician? Do you have a support system? Here are some links that may be helpful: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/eating-disorders/index.shtml http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/ http://kidshealth.org/parent/emotions/feelings/eating_disorders.html

Oh boy. Do you love Mommy?

If you're doing something sustainable like finding out your tdee and eating at a modest deficit (while learning to make your everyday favorite foods fit), and exercising whatever amount is reasonable and enjoyable for you (while exercise isn't necessary for the weight loss I encourage it), you will lose the weight. Then be…

I just googled marmite. I'm still not any closer to understanding what it is.
-
You are a yo-yo dieter because your "diets" are not sustainable. Learn how to make your everyday food fit into your calorie goals and get some exercise. Look at that sexypants thread. It will help.

You didn't get to the weight you are unhappy with in 18 days. You wont get to a weight you are happy with in 18 days. Just keep going. Then. Just keep going.

Omg that thread was a total time suck. I got lost in there.

I too would like to see the thread that spawned this thread.

This was my first thought.

Some years back I was walking my two large dogs in the park. I was pretty out of shape at this time, and wasn't paying much attention to my surroundings. Someone let their dog off leash and my dogs took off after it. I was slammed chest first into a metal trash can bolted into the ground, got the wind knocked out of me and…

I thought this thread was going to be about not being able to even wipe my own *kitten*. Because I'm so swole. I am disappoint.

I see what you are saying. In my Nutrition textbook it basically stated that excessive protein over a long period of time could be hard on the kidneys and that more research was needed. Then I read these two articles: http://www.nutritionandmetabolism.com/content/2/1/25 http://www.jbc.org/content/71/1/139.short And what I…
-
So, then the goal would be to get what you need based on your weight and activity levels right? As, excess protein just plain gets excreted. You don't "hang onto it for later" so, what would be the point in consuming way over your needs on a regular basis? Maybe I am missing the point?
-
Calorie deficit is the key. Now when it comes to too much protein, you're not going to gain weight if you're still in a deficit, and your body just excretes the excess protein. This isn't a big deal if it happens on occasion, but eating significantly more protein than you need over a long period of time can be a bit taxing…

I lost weight the unhealthy way twice (severe calorie cuts, eliminating entire food groups) I lost the weight quickly, and gained it all back and then some both times. This last time I started out that way but quickly changed my tune, and did a much more modest calorie cut, still ate what I liked in moderation. It's been 2…

You can book a session (or more) with a personal trainer to be taught proper form and different lifts. Look up stronglifts 5x5 watch youtube videos on form and lifts
-
Start a strength training program. Stronglifts 5x5 is a great start. Start paying attention to your macros, and to get a good idea of the calories you want for your goals try http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/
