  • I think it's what you enjoy. Just make sure you log. I think I'm the only person who doesn't like almond milk, but I don't really like milk a whole lot either.
  • I put a bag of chopped broccoli on a cookie sheet and put some olive oil on it and seasoning salt and mix it around to coat evenly and then broil it in the oven until it looks like I want it. I like a few burned pieces. You have to keep an eye on it and stir it from time to time.
  • I'd suggest walking. Anything else will probably jar your shoulder. Turn on some tunes or listen to a podcast. Hope it heals soon.
  • I wonder how it would be if you ditched the refried beans and used pinto beans instead. There is a local mexican restaurant and they don't serve the refried beans, they serve pintos instead with their meals. It is so good.
  • My husband is like you. He says he's a weight lifter who runs. When he really gets into the running. He looks more like you. It's just a different look. But he seems to lift more in the winter and cut back on the running and his shoulders seem to get bigger. Lol.
  • I have a mini trampoline I'll jump on at home from time to time with the radio on. It's a good little work out.
  • I started out with Body Pump and got into great shape. I went 2 times a week and just walked or did spin 3 other days. It is fun to work out with a group. They were limited in to how heavy you could lift in there of course, but my legs had never looked better than when I did that class. So if it's something you'll do and…
  • Oh, also they put me on a food elimination diet. I restricted eggs for a period of time and then reintroduced them to find out if that was bothering me. I don't think I would do that on my own if your tongue was swelling. They gave me an Epipen in case I needed it.
  • Around my time of the month I can gain 5 lbs. A large gain is sometimes due to eating a meal with sodium if you have been restricting it. Also if you have just started working out you can gain water weight due to retention from exercise. I weigh more after a heavy leg day workout.
  • I ate so many eggs at one point when I was dieting I developed an "allergy"/sensitivity to them. I went to the allergist and they told me I was allergic to them. I gave up eating them for about 2 years. I can eat them now, but not everyday just a few times a week. I get the upset stomach, a rash, bloating and awful gas.…
  • I did JIllian's Banish Fat and Boost Metabolism a few days ago and liked it. My watch said I burned 350 calories doing it. Everything on in was doable also nothing really crazy.
  • The watch will keep up with how many calories you burn in a day. You can also check you beats per minute at any time.
  • I know! I want the avocado sauce recipe also!
  • There's a book called "New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Alywn Cosgrove and Lou Shuler. It lays out a plan for you. If I remember right it's a 6 month schedule. You can find it on Amazon or I've seen it in some book stores. It's been out for a while now so could probably find it pretty cheap on Amazon. There is even some…
  • I think I read on here that this had happened to others and it may be a glitch that occurred.
  • My husband bought me one for Christmas. I'm not a techie person. I thought it was just gimmicky, but I love it. I'm not one to carry my phone around all the time, so I can be somewhere in the house and answer my watch. No more missed calls. I like it for my workouts. I have found that it doesn't keep up with my heart rate…
  • Wraps, hard boiled eggs, portioned raw veggies, hummus individual packs, sandwiches, fruit, nuts, remade salads. If you can find a bento box those are fun to put things in individual portions.
  • I cook an entire box of elbow noodles and then put them in a gallon freezer bag laying them out as flat as I can. Then they don't stick together after frozen. Then I just take a bit out of the freezer at a time as I need them. I've tried to freeze other types of pasta, but the elbow noodles seem to be the only ones that…
  • Those are not real pull-ups no matter what anyone says. :)
  • I like Beachbody programs because it gives me a schedule and what to do everyday. So I don't have to think, crap what shall I do today? I have Body Beast, P90x, Insanity, Hip Hop Abs, and a few more.
  • For me I always try to do some sort of cardio I actually enjoy doing. It's not, lets run because it will burn the most calories, when it's something you hate and won't stick with. It's something you enjoy and will make a habit because you enjoy it. I love spinning because of the music and it make the time fly by. You can…
  • Guys are just people. Even gym guys. You are going to have some nice and some mean. They don't go to the gym and turn into mean jerks. If they were not in their gym clothes and in regular clothes on the street you probably wouldn't think twice. I've only met a few gym jerks. Most of them were in the ladies locker room…
  • Only Jillian from Biggest Loser really yells at her clients. I've had several and none of them have ever yelled at me. I'm sure they wanted to continue getting a pay check. They win if you win, remember?
  • I tried it before. Let me just say that I'm very competitive and I will kill myself to get the same lifts as a twenty year old working out next to me. Which is not good for me . :) I found that the box I went to did train you properly for the lifts, but when it came to the WOD (workout of the day) It was very competitive…
  • I don't mind working in, but I'm sure it'd be hard to share a squat rack if he's a big dude lifting a lot more than her and she's a beginner. Too much swapping out weights. Sounds like he was just marking his territory and trying to get her to leave. I would report him the next time I was in there or at least point him out…
  • My apple watch will keep up with your heart rate and calories burned. I have noticed sometimes when I'm lifting heavy, when my heart rate feels like it's out the roof, it will say 59 bpm or something like that when I know it's not true. It has to be much higher. I've read that your blood vessels constrict when lifting…
  • Maybe something with the way water is carried in the muscle tissue and dehydration due to alcohol?
