  • Hi I just posted about fasting too. I was wondering if it was ok to fast once a week? I have been fasting once a week with the exception of goat milk and a half cup juice. I have been having a much easier time controling my appetite the rest of the week. I will be keeping up with my weekly fasts since I feel really good…
  • Please don't give up. As long as your loosing weight it's not a hopeless cause. I don't know about your thyroid problems but green tea might help and would be worth a try. I personally have found that fasting one day a week has helped me to curb my old ravinous appetite. Best of wishes.
  • I can't choose between Hugh Jackman Vin Diesel Stephen Lang as Commander Taylor from Terra Nova. He is totally dynamic on that show. Sigh.... and they are all commited. Too bad for me. :)
  • I have heard that it is important not to sleep in a bra so that the lymph glands can drain out at nite to help pervent breast cancer. All I can say is that my sister wore a bra every nite and it might have been a contributing factor (along with dr perscribed meds) in her death from breast cancer since she is the only one…
  • I like one whole egg and say three whites scrambled with bacon bits (real ones) then a dab of lite sour cream and salsa. Tex Mex eggs.
  • I tend to eat my biggest meal at breakfast and just have a yogurt and 10g of nuts for dinner. If I am famished I might have a snack before bed but most of the time I'm good. I think eating lite later in the day is helping me. I know I should be out and do some exercising but it seems like such a huge task and the weather…
  • I should be on a diet like that. Since I have PCOS can you tell me where to get info on that diet.
  • I too have PCOS. I was diagnosed at about 14 but never put on any medication for it. I'm working to get healthy and drop about 170lbs and hopefully that will bring my PCOS under control. I have found in the past that while I can go years with out my period, if drop some weight and watch my carb intake I tend to get my…
  • Good post. Battle on because we fight a good fight.
  • I just tend to pick things with about the same size and then just log things as what ever that said plus a bit. Like a 1.25 serving for a tart of about the same size as the same kind at the store.
  • I used to but then realized that the only person I was cheating was me. Out of my future. So I turned around. Changed my settings from lightly active to sedentary even though I am a janitor, and I under report my exercise and over report my food. It's better to cheat myself out of looking good on paper than to cheat myself…
  • I love water now but way back when I used to prefer Coke or anything super sweet. I find that upping my intake of water can sometimes make it a bit harder to enjoy so what I started doing it adding cinnamon. It is a tip that one woman said she used. Cinnamon regulates blood sugar so I think that it might help when a person…
  • I totally agree with feliciapeters. One has to admit that the one food that is irrisitable is the one you have denied yourself. Then after so long of not having it I find that I tend to totally derail and binge like crazy then of course once you've binged then it is easy to just keep on doing so. One has to truely savor…
  • I'm 5'9" and I'm heavy boned. My goal weight is 150 with a maintainance between that and 160. My first goal is to be down to 275 by August.
  • My mom went with juices instead of all chicken broth. So that might work unless your diabetic. Did your Dr give you a list of things to drink? If he/she didn't maybe phone and ask about it.
  • I find that I get days like that too. I think a person's body is sort of testing it out to make sure there really is food out there if it needs it so I usually give in to eating more since the last thing I want is my fat panicing and not wanting to leave during a persceived famine. I just try to make sure I eat enough high…
  • Great post. Do you have a link that I can check out the article. Sounds like it would be full of good advice. Thanks
  • I think that this site has too many calories for people like myself who are clinically obese. After all a lot of the calorie calculations are based on sites that deal with sports medicine. Lets face it a person weighing 350lbs who is a football player is going to be able to eat differently than a person like myself who is…
  • I go over my protein regularly too. Since I find that it tends to make for easier weight loss on my part maybe because I have PCOS and am carb sensitive. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  • Eat many small meals that are high if fiber and lean protein. For snacks have oranges. I find them very satifying and they keep me filled till next meal. Have bigger breakfasts. I eat most of my calories for breakfast and just grab a yogurt with walnuts for dinner.
  • My suport is with you. It is hard to watch someone self destruct and know that you can't just step in and make them do better. Hugs
  • It is healthy and low cal. I add it to water to vary it with cinnamon when I am getting bored.
  • I have PCOS and I have found that a low GI diet seems to be a good way of losing weight and even seems to regulate my never regular friends some. Most of the time I don't do low GI and still have pretty good wieght loss but not everyone is that fortunate. One thing that I do is give up pop, sweet juice, white bread and…
  • Make a ratatoulli. It tastes great and has no meat.
  • Great going on your 17lb drop. Your going to do great.
  • if you chucked it up within 30 to 45 min I would only count it as a partial.
  • Even on your weekend even if you don't log it try hard to follow portion control. Or at least keep in mind when eating that when you hold out your cupped hands, if you only eat as much as would fill your hands you will not be overeating. I know how hard it is to survive the weekend binges since that was one of my major…
  • Nice dream but I think that I would probably freak out and pig out from shock after the elation wore off. :)
  • I have my lifestyle set to sedintary and I usually don't add my work even though I do janitorial work four to five days a week. I find that I have been loosing a lot of weight but I might hit a hard plateu. I haven't yet but then I have only been on the scale about every two weeks so I might platue a bit in that time but I…
  • I have my calories set as sedentary however I happen to do janitorial work four to five days a week. Since I have done my job for over 16 years it is not much of a challenge so all I usually do is mark down maybe 30 minutes of sweeping when I really do two hours of it. Or 20 min burnishing/ mopping ect. when I did ten…
