  • I use my hrm and enter it as circuit training.
  • I have. At first I was upset because I looove food so much, but now I am very happy with it. I don't feel over stuffed, but satisfied. Last night I planned on having a pork chop and 2 cups of squash. I could only eat one cup instead of both. It was a great feeling.
  • Great job! I weighed in at 176 this morning -Finally out of the 180's and keeping it there. Yay for mini goals! :)
  • I'm having the same problem this morning. I'm a SAHM as well and my fiancee just got home from work with a huge chicken, egg sandwich thing from a local deli. It smells sooo good and I'm not having lunch until 1130. For a second I thought I was hungry, but I just put it out of my mind, and did a quick 5 minute walk around…
  • I have the Polar FT7 and after using it and comparing it, I wish I got the FT4. They are basically the same, but the FT4 is cheaper. I do love having it as I can accurately track my calories. I got mine from Sport Authority and they seemed to be the cheapest, but I know Amazon may have some for pretty cheap.

  • quinoa and zucchini. I never had either until I started eating healthier. Oh, and kale and swiss chard. I rarely had lettuce, let alone those. Now I saute them with olive oil, garlic and some avocado as a side dish.
  • I have the same one and I only use it while working out. I think that is the basic purpose of it. Plus, I heard the battery drains quickly if used like that or a lot. There is a thing called the BodyBugg that is for all day use. It is kind of pricey though, which is why I got a HRM instead.
  • The search button works for me. Or if I am not quite ready, I do what a previous member said and pop in the DVD, then get my shoes on, my water bottle ready and when I'm done it's at the menu and ready for me.
  • I find it so much easier to work out first thing in the morning. Even if I eat 2 hours before working out, I get sick to my stomach. I am a member of another forum with a weight loss group and when I wake up, while still in bed, I browse the forum. It gives me the motivation to get up and keep at it. Plus, I weigh myself…
  • Mine does. I just bought a Polar FT7 and I love it. The FT4 is a little cheaper and basically does the same thing. It tells me how long I worked out and how many calories.
  • My sons are 3.5 and I do a quick 30-50 minute workout DVD first thing in the morning either before they get up or while they are sitting and having breakfast. I like Jillian Michaels DVDs and The Biggest Loser Cardio Max. When I want to incorporate the kids, I put the Wii on and we play games together. Or sometimes when…
  • Swimming, boxing, biking/cycling? Those are all I can think of that aren't high impact.
  • I just got a Polar FT7 and it says that it can be used it water, you just need to wash the strap right after if the pool was highly chlorinated. Hope this helps :)
  • One thing that stuck out to me first was your sugar intake. Your foods look good and you are staying within your calories which is good. Perhaps you could add some more fresh veggies or fruits? I can't see the sodium, but sometimes that can cause you to hang on to water weight. I know when I go a few days over my sodium,…
  • I recently started eating it as well. I actually enjoy the taste. My sister likes to mix hers with fresh or frozen fruit.
  • Welcome and congrats on taking the first step! I was in a similar situation. After my kids I was 156 at my heaviest. Then a few months ago, I stepped on the scale to see 194! I was so embarrassed that I had let myself get there. Just use that as a stepping stone. You can do this! There is so much support here and everyone…
  • When I first tried tofu I went to Nasoya.com - they have coupons for their tofu as well as an entire recipe section. I first tried it with the Curry Tofu recipe, which I wouldn't recommend to begin with. That was my first and last time eating tofu lol. But they did have some quick recipes for wraps and such.

  • I had the same problem when I first started. I went almost 3 weeks of eating what I thought was in my calories, as well as exercising every day for 30-40 minutes. It was then that I joined this site only to find I wasn't eating enough. Since you follow the calories on here, maybe your body is getting used to your workouts?…
  • I've been doing a 30 minute dvd 5 days a week and 2 miles on the treadmill one day a week and since December I've lost 4 inches just from my muffin top. While crunches and ab workouts are great, cardio will help you blast through the fat.
  • I love reading her posts on FB. She is very motivational!
  • I completely agree with this. I cut out milk for about 3 months and can no longer drink it. My body doesn't like it. I do however, still eat cheese and yogurt.
  • I just glanced the article but I wouldn't doubt it. I don't drink that or regular soda. Too much crap in it.
  • I switched from regular mayo to Kraft mayo with olive oil. It tastes different than regular, but has less calories.
  • Quinoa. I just purchased some the other day to go with a new Tofu recipe I had. It was my first time trying Tofu as well, but I wasn't a fan. I definitely like the quinoa though.
  • For me, I only get nauseous if I eat before a workout. Even eating an hour before can make me feel slightly sick.I felt super hungry a few days when I got up, so I ate, waited then did the Shred dvd and I felt terrible. I stick to working out first thing in the am with only water and it helps. The only workouts I can do…
  • I prefer to workout first thing in the morning. If I eat before I workout, I get nauseous, even if I wait 2 hours. I take a protein shake an hour before working out and then again half an hour after. I take water, add a scoop of whey protein, a tsp of glutamine, a tsp of creatine, and some flaxseed oil. UDO oil is very…
  • I would suggest monthly goals or bi monthly goals. That seems to work for a lot of people. I am looking to lose about 50 more lbs and I set my goal to 1-2 lbs a week. I know that it will be a day by day process so I like to stick with small weekly goals, if I do monthly goals, I get discouraged easily when I'm a couple…
  • Peanut Butter. It's my new favorite snack. I used to have half an avocado everyday, but I didn't realize how many calories were in them so I've cut back to every 2-3 days.
  • I found this to be true the other day when I had 2 tbsp of peanut butter and it came up as 210 calories when it's only 190.
  • Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred made my arms shrink so much- but I think it was partly due to that fact that I have been using 5lb hand weights when most people will recommend 2-3lbs. I have also heard great things about The Biggest Loser's Power Sculpt DVD.
