  • Today and tomorrow drink your water and keep your self hydrated and you will be fine race day! I will be running a 5K right across the bridge from you in Pensauken, NJ Saturday morning, although its not my first, more like my 15th! Today I did about an hour of yoga and tomorrow I will rest. Both days, I am making sure to…
  • You have completely put your body in shock by doing such a drastice 180 with you diet an exercise! Good for you! But do not get fustrated, it takes a few weeks sometimes for your body to adjust to the change. You should be proud of your 6 pounds. That is a great accomplishment. Just keep up the good work and your body will…
  • |This is me too!! It wasn't easy, but it becomes routine. Setting up the night before is key for me too, including the coffe pot!!!
  • Same EXACT story here!!!
  • Usually I am just fine with some coffee. I'll usually have my protein shake after I exercise.
  • I think full fat regular dressings are BEST. Read the ingedients in your dressing and pick an all natural/organic brand. LOW-FAT means HIGH fuctose corn syrup (body can not process properly) and starch fillers. I use Newman's Own regualr Balsamic Vinegrette and don't find it bitter. An its only 90 calories for 2 TBSP!!…
  • That is actually in my crockpot waiting for me when I get home....with cubed potatoes and carrots!
  • I am reading this as I sit here eating a Pure Protein High Protein Bar with 20g of protein, 2 g sugar-Chocolate Peanut Butter. I eat them after workouts. They also make frosty choclate Whey protein powder for shakes. I've been happy with them and you can find the Pure Protein line at Target.
  • Same here...Friday is my 'lunch out' day and it is a group of 4, so I am not always in control of where we go...so I would love it if more places listed nutrition. Just the other night I had a business dinner meeting at a local restaurant, and they had a healthy section with listed calories...so I picked a 252 calorie…
  • Wow, thanks for sharing sound great. All my favorite ingredients...can't wait to try it.
  • That is exactly what I do~! I have a 12 week chart that I follow and I MAKE myself get out of bed to do it before work. And boy, I really begin to appreciate those rest days. Maybe sign up for a 5k walk/run. Having a goal is definitely motivation! Good Luck!
  • This methodology gets me through my runs!!! It works!!
  • That is how I started running, a friend invited me to run a 5K. Now 10 years later I am still running and have even completed the NYC Marathon. Now I invite friends to run 5K!!! I even invited a co-worker run her first 5K with me and now we are training for a 1/2 marathon together. And it doens't hurt that she has lost 40…
  • I agree, whole grain. It has more fiber and helps you feel full longer too.
  • Ha Ha! I do math too! I've been told I am nuts!
  • Just turned 36. Yes, it is harder. I have lost 10 of 25 I want to loose and am stuck at the moment. I am taking a good hard look at my diet.
  • I agree, check your shoes. You might want to consider getting new ones. And most importantly, stretch your calf muscles. Sometimes they occur from trying to do too much too fast, like running further than you are used to without working up to it or running at a greater speed, but I think you will conqueor them with, new…
  • I am a wroking mother of 3, ages 6, 9, and 11. I make a spreadsheet outlining dinner for two weeks at a time. This way I do not have to think about what to make for dinner. I make things from oven fried pork chops to fish tacos to whole wheat spaghetti and grilled chicken with jasmine rice paired with veggies at every…
  • Thanks for the great advice. Very good idea. I have access to a swimming pool at my community college and they offer lots of swimming activities (I have my kids is swimming there). Great idea, thanks. I will take a trek to see the one coming to my neck of the woods.
  • Me too! I want to do the SheRox series, sprint tri's for women with a woman mentor program. I can run and bike, but swimming is where I would need some help. Plus, I always wanted to know how you switch from one sport to the next? And how do I get my bike back when I'm done LOL!
  • I here ya! I have the same goals. 10-15 pounds, trying to tone...I logged my Friday at the bar, and Saturday at the BBQ...seeing it in black and white pushed me to workout more. Just ran a 5K on my lunch break!
  • Us too!! I love gardening with my children! Besides just simply NOT buying junk food, we have started gardening as a family. We are having a blast watching everything grow! I think that is wonderful and so happy you daughter is getting her veggies! Victory!
  • DITTO! I am the same way! If they are hungry, they will eat an apple, period! There are no other options!
  • Simply put...YES!!! I crave fruit and salads and it is a wonderful feeling!
  • I still try to avoid the chemicals...But I am a realist and know it is inevitable. But I would take the 30 calories for sugar over chemicals in my already chemical filled coffee/diet...it is one chose I can make consciously, unlike 1/2 of what I get if I eat out or buy processed foods..ugg! OOHH, the little victories we…
  • A lot of good advice...stretching and consistently stretching have always worked for me, combined with good shoes (maybe try a different pair-look into a sporting goods store and check their return policies). I have been a runner for the past 10 years and as long I stretch my calves I am good to go. I haven't had shin…
  • Same goal weight here! You can check out my food diary! I've lost 10 and am trying to loose another 15! Good luck!
  • Just because the scale isn't moving, doesn't mean you aren't making progress!!! The scale is not moving very fast for me these days, but my summer clothes FIT!!! That is all the proof I need that I am doing right!
