I used to exclusively eat frozen meals (Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones, Hot Pockets...) and my stomach became VERY upset daily. It was nonstop. I saw a nutritionist and she recommended I eliminate them from my diet as a result of the preservatives, etc. that are in them and I immediately started to feel better. Obviously my…

The entire last week, it was like I was possessed by a junk food eating monster that knew better but couldn't be bothered. That and I kept crying at things (like watching the Blind Side, which I've seen before) and felt horrible about myself for DAYS. This has been my biggest detriment and I'm going to do my best to…

Bump! Curious about your diet!

Hm... maybe try refueling with some kind of salty snack after your workout? Maybe you're suffering an electrolyte deficiency from sweating/dehydration

Walk in place while you're reading!

Sometimes that happens to me... the only thing that works is a cold shower and standing under a fan while I'm drying off. Hot shower won't lower your body temperature, unfortunately.

So is it better to have the Fitbit calorie adjustment or to actually log it? I went on the bike at the gym for 10 minutes and then did C25k (which also input calories burned to MFP) and the Fitbit adjustment was significantly less... Just confused as to how this works and which way is the best way
-
Great post.. been using MFP on and off for a few years and never knew this!

Great job everyone! My NSV was at lunch today, with a full basket of chips & salsa, 2 tacos, refried beans & rice in front of me.... I ate till about 60% capacity and didn't stuff myself. I even left over the rice, beans and chips  My self control is getting better, which will hopefully translate to some losses!

Figure out what your trigger is and avoid it or learn to manage your feelings. There's literally millions of things you can do INSTEAD of binge (if you can control yourself). Paint your nails, do your makeup, take a walk, workout, meditate, watch tv, call a friend, go for a drive, etc. It took me years to finally figure…

I don't find it accurate

Ignore the haters and be proud of your accomplishments. Your self worth comes from YOU, not other people. They're jealous.

I weigh foods that would be too imprecise to measure or eyeball like the other people said. I don't really worry about protein powder/bars/etc
-
Drink lots of water -- if anything I'd take a fiber supplement to go to the bathroom!
-
Nerdfitness is a great resource!!!! Also, I just joined Planet Fitness for $10 per month - I'm not sure if that is an option for you, but I'm really liking it!

If you're not hungry don't eat them. If you're hungry, eat them!

If it's the first time in a year, I'd say the heck with it and enjoy yourself. Don't worry too much about logging and just get back on track after

Target! I always get my bathing suits there.

@Queenmunchy it's on my wish list! Will definitely be my next gadget!

I have been insulin resistant/pre diabetic since I was 11. I'm now 24. I'm just trying to find the best balance for myself. The headache went away after I had a salty dinner so maybe it was the increased water causing it. Thanks everyone!

This. This is what I do. Generally like a 10 minute warmup on the bike and then lifting for a half hour or so. Then cardio. Bodybuilding.com has a ton of information that would help!

I don't think it would do you harm other than maybe being late for work/class/morning obligations? I started drinking a protein shake within 30 minutes of working out and it's helped me to have more energy. Also, eating a protein-filled meal & plenty of water prior to working out helps to keep my energy up.

That guy sounds like a rude, nosy person. If you are comfortable and not in pain, then do it. I'm 240 and was on week 5 before it became frigid outside. Planning on beginning again this week or next week.

I mean - from what I understand, if you don't use it you lose it. So, you need to find some kind of program that works for you. HIIT would probably be your best bet - there are workouts that are like 20-30 minutes that have compound body lifting movements that work multiple muscle groups with bursts of cardio in between.…

Sometimes we just have big legs... can't do much about it. You can try different variations of squats to help though. Heavy weights, sumo squats, some lunges too.

It depends on how crappy you feel.... If it were me I wouldn't bother with resistance training and I would take it easy. Maybe a nice walk and 30 min of yoga or something. If your body is sick you don't want to push it too much and make yourself worse.
-
I would rest if you're really sore, but definitely make sure you have good form. A trick I use is to make sure my weight is always in my heels by lifting up my toes a little bit, which forces better form. Best of luck!

I try to incorporate yoga into my routine T least 1-2 days per week to keep my muscles reasonably loose

You're probably not eating enough food. Not sure how tall you are/how much you weigh, but if you're working out hard and not netting at least 1200 calories your body may be in starvation mode without you realizing. Add an extra few servings of protein/veggies and see what happens
-
Or just don't eat them
