I think that once cooked it comes out to about 1 cup of pasta. (at least I hope so since that is how I have been measuring it for years)

a really easy walk would work - a recovery walk if you will. It will help the blood flow to your legs but not overstrain them with an actual 'workout'. also, water water water to keep the tendons and muscles hydrated while they heal.

I walk around with a heart rate around 45. FWIW I had actually wondered if this was part of why I have a hard time losing weight. excellent blog. I would +1 to the cold bath post long run. I started doing that on my long runs and 1/2 races and was totally amazed at how much better my recovery was!!!!

sorry, but I disagree. I had deep red/purple stretch marks on my belly for 25 yrs. I bought the Avon stretch mark cream and put it on daily - the redness went away. I still have stretched skin but now it isn't red and obvious any more.

I used stretch mark cream from Avon. It did not make them go away but it completely took away the rednesses and smoothed them quiet a bit. I was very happy with the results.

as much as possible I use the database provided by MFP - when I can't find that and I have to pick from a User entry I try to confirm the cal/fat/etc by searching. good luck

personally I count it for my awake time but in truth it is more important to count it, regardless of when. Someone suggested not 'playijng' with the calories for the day - I think that is right on. If you start moving calories to make the nmbers look better, eventually it will catch up with you. Good luck to you in this…

yeah, sodium can get you but at least it is a very temporary gain. Good plan, though to bring your dinner with you !

I'm around. Just got back from vaca. My guess is that most threads thin out over the summer months due to people being away or simply busy. Stick around, I know I am, and I'm sure the thread will pick up again. Congrats to the most recent losers :happy:

I am proud of the work I do every day working with children and families. I am also proud of the fact that although I really struggle with actually losing weight I have not stopped working out and trying to eat right.

I definately do not stretch like I should. I am one of those - head out the door, run, come home and get ready for work. No stretch. There are times when my legs remind me of the importance of stretching!

I try to eat clean when I am doing well. The effect on my body - energy, etc is fantastic. I always feel so much better the cleaner I eat. I started by reading Tosca Reno's Clean Eating Diet and now read Oxygen Mag for recipes, etc.

I didn't see Friday's challenge until just now but what a good one. I did not send notes to people but I did give encouragment to 3 people at work yesterday - one for work issues and two on fitness struggles. Does that count?

I maintain control by planning my meals especially when we are going out for dinner. If at all possible I will look up the menu so I can make my decisions prior to getting there - less likely to change then.

I started this journey fighting to be healthy. From a chain smoker with asthma to now a half marathon runner. I continue to fight for my health but now I also fight to feel lean and sexy.!
