  • yeah, I know that I can't spot reduce - that is the problem. I currently run, kickbox and weight train and everything is leaning down but my arms are not. ugh. tailor it is I guess
  • you can get the stir fry but ask for the sauce on the side, dip your fork into the sauce then your food. The sodium in chinese food can be over the top!
  • I had just recommitted myself to losing the last 15 - 20 pounds by the end of the year and then I came across this thread. I'm in. Support and accountability are what I need.

  • Hi Jennifer. First WELCOME. This site has been very helpful to me in this process. I have gotten support/feedbac/encouragement and laughs. I started this process at 225 so not far off from where you were. I am at the point where I want/need to lose 15 more pounds to be at goal, so again, we are similiar. I know you didn't…
  • I have a pair of jeans hanging on my closet door. When I started this process the button and hole was about a foot apart. Now I can button/zip the pants but they are tight. Almost there. So, yes it helped. I try them on every couple of weeks now.
  • first ~ congrats on the 30 lb loss. That is no small accomplishment. This is a great site. Post often and friend request people and you will find support everywhere!! Welcome.
  • it's funny - just yesterday I posted some pre/current pics of myself because I had not 'seen' the loss in myself. We are so critical of our accomplishments that we can easily lose sight of that hard work. I can totally see the loss in your body but if this helps you - look at your face in both pics. It is clear there too.…
  • great job. You look fantastic
  • yep, if your joints can handle it, walk, often and over time, far. use home dvd's or if you have access to free cable workouts use those. We have ondemand here that has numerous free workouts fromyoga to boxing. force yourself to schedule it into your day. After awhile it will just become another thing you do every day.…
  • the jiggle is why I started wearing it in the small of my back. It doesn't bounce anymore - at least not on me.
  • noone here is perfect. You have made some changes that resulted in a 35 pound weight loss. That is awesome. Something triggered you to break your new habit and return to an old one that many of us know well. Eating. If it is possible, maybe use this time to think about what happened right before you went into your eating…
  • I love mine. I wear it at the base of my back and usually carry my Iphone, key, lip balm and some tissue.
  • first step is to log more consistently. Whenever I skip days it tends to lead to not so good choices. Log very honestly for a few weeks so you can see exactly what you are doing. Secondly, if possible can you try eating less processed foods. From what I could see you are eating a lot of premade pasta/sandwiches and take…
  • welcome back. Thing is, this whole process is a try and try again type thing. Few steps foward, few back and so on. You can do this.
  • excellent. I had an older man approach me in the gym one day to tell me that he had noticed I was becoming "long and lean". those moments are priceless.
  • my rest day tends to be the day before my long run. Other 'rest' days would be if I am sore I will go for a walk rather than a more intense workout. It is all about listening to your body and doing what it tells you to.
  • oh and I have found that the more moving I am doing the less I seem to have wild "eat everything in sight" days.
  • this is perfect advice.
  • pretty much has been said but you are not going to have a major impact in one week. Stay the course. someone commented on no breads. This seems to work in the short term. I have several friends who go low/no carbs the few days before going out to get rid of any puffiness in their belly. good luck to you in the bigger…
  • you can lose weight without working out. Follow the numbers given to you by MFP closely. The excerise will only boost the lose a bit. Weight loss is 90% food and 10% movement (or something like that) point being is it comes down to what you put in your body and then what gets burned. 7 pounds in 6 weeks is doable however,…
  • you not only lost a whole lot of weight but you look strong and fit. A perfect role model to your daughter and her friends. Nice work!!
  • thanks for the suggestion. I will definately try that.
  • this is a fantastic site.... http://www.eatingwell.com/ I have gotten appetizers, main meals, sides, crockpot meals, etc.. All are really good.
  • congrats to you on many fronts. ending an abusive relationshiip, returning to school, raising two young children on your own and making the commitment to become a healthy role model for them. Feel free to add me for support if you like.
  • welcome to MFP. You are so totally not alone!! you should find some great support here!
  • hi back. you will really like the support you find here!! good luck on your journey

  • first week loss is almost always high. It is primarily water retention loss and a bit of fat loss. I would guess that your loss will slow down to 1 - 2 pounds now which is what MFP recommends. good luck to you.
  • morning, could you break down what the fitbit is accounting for? Is it your typical daily movements or actual exercise? I ask because if it is your daily movements then I would not add it to your diary as MFP already incorporates that into the equation when you set it up.
