That's America for ya. As soon as I step out of my gym there is a Panda Express and Starbucks directly in front of you and as you pull out there is literally 20 some restaurants on the street like Wendy's, McDonalds, Taco Bell, etc etc etc

Thanks everyone!! I did just start training....4 miler today. So hopefully I will just get a little faster naturally. As far as spinning...I love it!! It does build your butt and hams which helps when jogging and it kicks my butt when sprinting.

If you're serious about exercise and a good shoe you need to get a professional fitting....and it's free. Just go to your local running store, We have Luke's Locker and Run On and they will be more than happy to look at your feet, ask what type of exercise, and watch you walk in them. They can be expensive there so figure…

I've learned even if you've hit your goal weight you don't magically stop obsessing about calories or hitting the gym. Now I just set different goals-like running a half marathon instead of worrying about how many calories. Now I feel strong enough to tackle even bigger obstacles. Recipe: anything that makes me actually…

I use Pillsbury refrigerated thin crust roll-out dough. I spread olive oil and garlic powder on it and prebake it then top it with pizza sauce, low fat cheese, and veggies like tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions.

I agree  Head to your local Luke's Locker or Run On store and they're more than happy to help you out there. As well, figure out what shoe you want and get it for cheaper online at runningwarehouse.com....you can also go to runblogger.com to get an additional 10% off when you click on the coupon. I got new Saucony…

Yep you gotta keep your body guessing. Have you tried spin class? Talk about torching some calories! As well I agree you have to make sure you're eating enough calories.

Sparkpeople.com they have a recipe calculator tool on there

I've been running for awhile, but nothing really over 4-5 miles. I have 12 weeks to train, and yes I'm following Hal Higdon's program. I got fitted at Luke's Locker, but I'm going to try a more minimalist shoe the Saucony Kinvara to help strengthen my feet (I tend to pull muscles and tendons in my feet) I have yet to try…

I would think a Zumba class. Both the instructor and my classmates would motivate me. I don't get very motivated in my cramped apartment by myself and certainly don't push myself that hard when I'm alone. PLUS it's just more fun dancing with a bunch of people, but I could see why some people might not like that.

CARDIO. I find spin has the fastest results :)

Here in Dallas I went to Luke's Locker and they fitted me in some Asics

I'm not much of a cook-what's the difference between roasting and baking? And what if I don't have a roasting pan?
-
I just take a spin class and burn well over 600 cals per session. The instructor keeps you motivated and I work harder in a group. Good luck!

I eat Quaker oatmeal high fiber maple and brown sugar oatmeal. 10g of fiber will get you through the morning with very little calores

I agree  I would recommend watching Food Inc as well for more info.

Blue Diamond. I found it in Kroger in the refrigerated section near the vegetables in the organics section.

I don't like almonds either, but I like this :)

Yes! Excellent movie. Will be going to Half Price Books to research a raw food lifestyle-like Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw lol.

I'm pretty much to my goal weight and just trying to build muscle now. It took me since March, so about 7 months.
-
I say if it's just muscle soreness and not soreness from an injury to continue. The exercise will help to loosen up those sore muscles and make sure to stretch AFTER warming up and when you're done.

I agree with SUGAR FREE. I use sugar free powdered vanilla and find I don't need to use any liquid half and half. Plus Splenda. All for 32 calories

I work at an OB/Gyn clinic and there is no truth to that. It's the same as a multi, but with less vit A and more folic acid. None of which cause weight gain.
