Does anyone know how to tell how many ounces of meat you're eating? Or anything for that matter. Is there a good method for telling?

Suggestions for 3 o'clock snack?
This is my most dreaded time of the day where I'm starving it seems and just want to snack away. I need some healthy options...so let 'em rip!! I've tried bananas and peanut butter, granola, yogurt, apples. I need a change! I prefer easy and even pre-packaged. Those 90cal fiber one bars do not fill me up. Any suggestions…

Only 281 cals for an hour of spinning???!!?
For the first time I was able to wear my bodybugg to my spin class to see exactly how many calories I really burned. It's supposed to be up to 90% accurate, but yet it says I burned only 281 calories from spinning my butt off, red face, and dripping sweat for an hour! How is that possible? Now I am only 5'0" and 125, but…

My Bodybugg is on it's way!!
I decided to order the Bodybugg (version 3) so I can track all my carlories burned, especially during exercise. Don't much care about speed, time, distance, or HR so this is perfect for me :) Anyone else own one that would like to share about it?

It sucks staring all over again :(
I was out because of an injury for the past...I don't know....7 weeks? I stopped keeping track. My thigh/hip still hurts a bit but I'm going to try the recumbent bike and some weights tonight after work. I'm just not too enthused as I use to be, but I want to get back the energy and fitness level I had going.

No running for 3 wks! Help!
I strained my right hip abductor muscle and was told I can't run for three weeks, only use the recumbent bike if no pain. Anyone else have this happen before? I have to go to physical therapy, which I don't want to do and take anti-inflammatories, which I can't afford the rx right now. I don't want to lose the…

Green tea vs Black tea
Which is better for you? I know black tea tends to have more caffeine, but I haven't tried it yet and the mint green tea is REALLY good. I believe black tea has more antioxidants as well?

Does it matter if I'm doing 12 min miles?
I'm only 5'0" so I have short legs and can't cover as much distance as most people. LMAO! That's my excuse! So shouldn't I just be happy with running 11-12 min miles? I'm so jealous of other people running 6 min miles. I just want someone to saw "awwww it's ok" I'm training for a half marathon so I figure…

Flaxseed oil VS ground
I recently read in Shape magazine that adding flaxseed oil to your diet can increase you lung capacity up to 50% after taking for three months. After researching a bit I'm getting conflicting info as to it's benefits and what form you should have it in. Anyone have any thoughts? I know about the Omega-3 and fiber benefits,…

Great deal on running shoes-what about clothes?
I found a website runningwarehouse.com that has excellent prices on running shoes. Recommend you get fitted first at a running store of course. Does anyone have any suggestions for workout wear? I would like to find some bargains on compression capri pants for jogging. At Academy they're at least 25 bucks a piece.

Alternatives for lunch-usually eat sandwiches
I'm really burnt out on frozen low-fat meals like Lean Cuisine and such so I started bringing ham sandwiches with mustard and whole grain chips. Is this a good alternative? Does anyone else have REALLY simple filling lunch ideas? Preferably something I don't have to cook or anything the night before.

Coffee vs Green Tea?
Does anyone know the difference between coffee and green tea? Specifically amount of caffeine. I tried mint green tea today instead of my usual coffee and had a headache later that afternoon. I'm thinking it's because I didn't get as much caffeine as I'm used to. :ohwell:

I need an alternative to coffee
I know it's hardly any calories the way I drink it, but I could really do without breating coffee breath all over my patients every day. Anyone have any alternatives that is just as good, still give me a kick in the morning without this side effect? At one point I was drinking hot chocolate with caffeine in it, but I…

Seriously? I burned less than 200 calories?
Now I know lifting weights isn't exactly calorie torching, but for a whole hour of busting my butt I thought it might be a little more than that :( Oh well, I guess in the long run muscles help burn calories faster anyway.
