Really nice in mashed potatoe or kumera for extra tang. Make Lassi. Makes a nice desert topped with prunes (soaked in dome water for a few days in the fridge) and flaked armonds or crumbed walnuts.

Gave up drinking about decade ago after drinking 1/2 bottle of wine a day or so. Affected my personality and health. Don't miss it a all. You have to ask yourself- do you drink for the effect, taste, social acceptance or all 3?

My diary is open to friends and has real fresh food generally. Add as friend is welcome for open diary friends.

Humus, felafels (made with chickpeas), lentils (soups, patties) and beans, oat bran ( biscuits, breakfast) are high in nutrients and fibre. Edamame beans (green soya beans) beans really nice. Tofu, milk, real yogurt with culture.

Interesting but the drop in HR in one minute from exercise is more important than resting HR.

From what I understand- One of the best guides to the condition of your cardio vascular system is how quickly your heart recovers. As a guide next time your at the gym- Exercise and note your final heart rate when you stop exercising. One minute later take a second measurement. Take the second measurement away from the…

Ya gotta get your calories for the day from somewhere. The macro nutrients Protein, Fats and Carbohydrates equals calories. Ie. P+F+C=calories. If you reduce say Fats the others have to increase for the calories to be still the same. A traditionally made hummus/ houmus has tahini (ground up sesame seeds) and olive oil both…

Open diary and motivated. You can add me if you like.

Chickpeas roasted are nice but I struggle to get it right. Ive also made felafel from dried chickpeas soaked overnight then processed with other ingredients. Unbelievably nice. Made 100 in a batch and froze most. 10x better then bought ones. Chick peas are so versatile.

I have fallen in love with Fazer biscuit that are made in Finland. Only about 3 or 4 incredients. Available in Australia not sure about rest of world. I boil about half dozen eggs refrigerate. Keeps much longer if left in shell.
-
Fazer rye biscuit, ricotta, cucumber, sliced boiled egg spinkled with a little curry powder.
-
Humus and celery/carrot sticks. Fazer rye biscuit, smoked salmon, ricotta, cucumber and Spanish onion/red. Smoked salmon is tasty and does not need cooking. Also last a long yime in the fridge.

I make a lot of humus and change it round from the traditional for variety. Suggest you start with dried chick peas rather than canned- cheaper but you have to soak first overnight and cook. Use fresh ingredients ie garlic not out of a jar. Fresh lemon not out of a bottle.

Humus is good for you! Its should be made with olive oil which is very good. Humus is a good substitute for butter. Has a lot of nutrients including fibre. I think that's good you like it. Much nicer and cheaper if you make it yourself. Just make it fit into your calorie count.

Hence my name tells it all!

Also very high in fibre. Lucky you to have 5 avocados a week!

Yogurt and banana. If you have a microwave make porridge- dead easy. soak over night with some sultanas and cook with half a banana. serve with milk. My favorite breakfast

No it didn't taste like cauliflower and I didnt even realize. I just thought it was white rice amazingly when it was a bed under a curry. On its own I would probably twig to it being different I sue.

Breakfast I have oatbran high in protein, iron and fibre. Pepitas/pumkin seeds. Also milk.
-
The barley wrap I've having lately are fantastic. High fibre protein , low sugar salt tasty and moist. A great alternative.
-
Pop Tart ~ sugar 16 grams/4 teaspoons each and low fibre just what your family needs. More a desert than a breakfast food. Never had one and not ever tempted. Kelloggs has some of the sweetest breakfast food on the planet!
