Keto, breastfeeding, fighting the demons
It's been a long time since I was keto. I got pregnant, lost the baby, got pregnant again and my daughter is now 11 weeks old. I managed a 38kg loss in 2015, and put 11kg back on over time. I've just lost my father in law, he had type two diabetes and emphysema. He kept eating rubbish food and smoking right till the end.…

Keto headache?
I stopped my keto WOE for a while, perhaps about 4 weeks. I have been back on it again for 11 days and had a constant headache ever since. I'm piling the salt/potassium on etc. I've never had keto flu or headaches from it before so I'm not even sure if it's from keto. I'm even eating Lo Salt (a sodium potassium mix) off…

White butter?!
I figure if anyone knows about butter, it's this group :-). I was googling "what makes butter yellow" for my 3 year old and came across this: http://judithcooks.blogspot.co.nz/2010/05/white-butter-yellow-butter.html I've never seen white butter in my life, is it really white in America?

What's something I can make a cheesecake crust from?
I can't find almond flour or meal etc, we seem to take a while to catch up in New Zealand when it comes to those sorts of products. Can I blitz nuts myself to make almond meal? Or does it need to be dried out also? I'm wanting to make a no-bake cheesecake and want some sort of crunch on the bottom.

Cake, bread and all things evil
Evil for my body anyway. Wow, what a weekend. It was my partners birthday and his mum made TWO cakes, for a small amount of people. I haven't eaten cake since last year and was like a possessed person, I must have inhaled almost half of a cake. And then there was home-made bread. Yep, no bread for months and months and I…

Where you started, where you are now, and where you would like to be
I know it's not a perfectly accurate visual indicator, and how you feel is a much more reliable way to see how you have changed. And sometimes it's nice to show people without having to email them pictures of you in your underwear. http://bodyvisualizer.com/ Sometimes it helps me to see that I have actually changed. It…

Anyone have a link to a reverse TDEE calculator? Or a formula in their brain?
I'm not good with math. I'm trying to figure out an average TDEE for myself based on actual energy intake and kg lost. I am sure I am calculating it incorrectly though as I get a number that sounds too large. It doesn't help that I work in kilojoules for intake and kilograms for outgoing I suppose! I found a google doc but…

Can someone give me a kick up the bum?!
I got to 30kgs lost pretty happily. I had the odd bad day, as you do, but still generally very low carb days. Then around that time I decided I would take a break from losing weight. At this point I was on 1350kcal and just ate between that and 1600kcal and maintained happily. However I seem to have lost my motivation.…

Antibiotics, or just coincidence? Bit of a stall.
I had an abscess surgically removed about 7 weeks ago. The wound is stubborn to heal and so I was placed on antibiotics (augmentin) and my weight has basically remained the same ever since. I am eating at the same deficit. I also have had two colds and some bad doms in that time but the doms is 90% gone now. The previous…

Dizzy spells when exercising
Anyone else? I often get dizzy when weight lifting or doing something difficult (I walked up a mountain recently, lots of steps, and kept getting dizzy). Could I be lacking something? I'm pretty content with my weight lifting technique for the most part, I'm remembering to breath. I set a new 1RM for my deadlift the other…

Do you lose weight at a faster rate that MFP says you will?
Just being nosey here really. I eat an amount that MFP says will have me lose about 0.5kg or 1 pound per week. I seem to lose about 1.4-1.7kg per week (about 3lbs to 3lbs and 12oz). I do often eat back a portion of exercise kilojoules (yeah, I'm in one of those weird countries that uses funny measurements  ) but as I…

Artificial sweeteners - any that you like?
I just want an "ok" tasting hot chocolate every now and then. I have tried a couple of stevia based products and don't like the during or aftertaste at all. I also tried saccharin based stuffed which was ok, but not that thrilling. I'm looking at splenda as it's not ridiculously expensive for a packed of 50 sachets. I'd…

Feeling very hungry despite eating well
I have eaten almost all of my kilojoules for the day already, before 11am. I've stuffed in tuna, salami, eggs, mayonaise, cream cheese, beef mince (burger meat?) etc. Over 100g of fat. I'm not exercising today unless it stops pouring with rain. Also a lot of salt has been consumed. My stomach is physically so full that it…

Yikes! Starting to notice muscle loss
For background, I work in metric and kilojoules but I will try and imperialise this post as best I can, but may make the odd mistake, I am 4'11", 32 years old and female. I was 253lbs as on 4th Jan this year. My last weigh in today has me at 203lbs. I'm sedentary as I do not work as such, just stay at home with a 2 and 4…

Macros are wrong gram amounts when setting goals? Very low grams.
I've had this issue before but logging into the PC version of MFP isn't helping this time. I am from New Zealand and we use kilojoules here which seems to confure MFP. Anyway I went to change my kj goal to 5500 from 5024 and now the amounts it is giving me for fat, protein and carbs are rediculous. 17g for carbs, 17g for…

22kg down, but not seeing a difference (pics)
These pictures aren't from my highest weight to my lowest, sadly I didn't think to take any of when I was at my biggest. I started out at 115kg on Jan 4th of this year. I'm now 93kg. Still morbidly obese but I have lost a couple of clothing sizes and feel a bit lighter on my feet. These are from 107kg to 93kg. In the 107kg…

Any super short ladies with large body frame?
Just wondering what sort of goal weight you have? I am 148.5cm which is under 5 foot, but wrist and elbow measuments indicate a large frame. I should weigh somewhere in the 41-56kg range I think, according to BMI. My rough goal is 52kg which is about 115lbs. I thought was a reasonable goal. What about you? My mother is…

MFP app giving odd macro numbers?
I upped my kilojoule allowance this week in the MFP app on my android phone. I later checked my carb intake to see if it was ok to snack on some veg, when I noticed it has given me some odd macros? 7g carbs, 14g of protein and 22g of fat. The ratios are right but the gram amounts are so low. I have restarted the…

Bonless, skinless chicken breast
The variations are a wee bit overwhelming in MFP...what one do you choose? I work in metric. Some of the different ones listed can vary by a few hundred kj in a 100 gram serving. Do I just pick one and stick with it? There is no nutritional breakdown on the packaging, it's just meat on a tray with shrink wrap. Thanks!

Antibiotics + plateau = coincidence? (Might be a bit gross)
I had a cyst that turned into an abscess, which burst of it's own accord so I visited the doctor who prescribed antibiotics. I am 32 and never taken them as an adult. I think I was 5 or 6 the last time I had any. Ever since, my weight has bounced around (99.7kg, 99.4kg, 99,6kg, 99.8kg, 99.6 etc etc) and my stomach feels…
