Restart, Help Needed
Long Story Short. Been Yo-yoing for 10 years. Running up to the pandemic I managed to drop 4.5 Stone, was lifting heavy every day and getting in the gym and loving it. Pandemic hit, I switched to running and was running 5k's 3 times a week and Sub 60 minute 10k once a week. That lasted 6 months. Since then I have lost all…

A Surprising Success
After what I thought was a year lacking consistency, making bad food choices and not exactly training due to a number of family/career issues I took a photo today to compare and to kick my *kitten* back again. I’m 3 for 3 in the gym this week. Well the result was surprising. Same Body Fat within 0.1% Almost 3 kgs heavier…

Office Non-Compliment
Today in the office I was told by a colleague that they see me go to the gym every lunch over the last 18 months (Known me for 3 years) and he hasn’t seen me loose any weight or imagine me lifting any real weight. I tried not to laugh

Daily Clock Watching
Anyone else sit watching the clock in the office willing it to move so you can walk out and go lift? I’m stuck doing that at the moment and hate that I have to squeeze the workout in too a time frame yet spend hours in the office doing less important stuff (in my eyes lol)

Speedway Fans
Just wondering if there are any fans out in the MFP world of the bike sport Speedway. Don't mean anything like the American speedway's. Other than the mainly californian based stuff. But the Australian/New Zealand started sport of 500cc methanol powered bikes with no brakes. Not a widely watched sport but certainly…

Famous people you have not recognised
So we have had the famous people you have met. So I wondered who you have met but did not recognise until it was too late. I personally have been stood in a line watching people ask the 7ft 1in black guy behind me for autographs not having a clue who he was with him looking at me and smiling as if to say "Don't you want an…

Whats the weirdest phone call you have received
I am sure there are some funny ones out there. Mine has to be on the night of my 4th Wedding anniversary. Me and the wife were sleeping in our hotel room in Las Vegas (Caesers so not a dodgy one). About 2am the phone rings so I answer it. I was greeted with a female voice saying "Hi honey i'm here". I said "Thats good for…

Stronglifts 5 x 5
Bit of a silly question but need to work it out. I am looking to start strong lifts 5 x 5 tonight if I can find someone in the gym to show me the olympic bar. So the first workout is with the bar only. I understand that. What I don't understand is what I should do for warm up as if I was lifting weights I would use the bar…

Out of the mouths of babes
My daughters are 4 and come out with some corkers. At the weekend I had taken my shirt off to change it as it had got dirty. Daughter knows that I exercise at the gym (PE as they call it). Daughter looks at me and says "Daddy, why is your tummy not getting smaller". All I could do was laugh as the honesty in a child was so…

Dumb Question Alert
Sorry for asking such a dumb question but given that I never really got taught what you can eat Raw and what you should cook I thought this would be a good place to start. Trying to think of things I can eat for lunch that I can pick up at Sainsbury's and then stick in a bowl with some microwaved pasta/rice. So.... Can you…

Bruised Quads
Kicking myself as I have sorted my back out and ready to do my trial at a new gym. Then like a numpty I was moving my Old TV to replace it with a new one. A nice light 32" widescreen CRT TV from 10 years ago so not light. Long story short I over balanced and it came down on my legs. Upper part, both legs (Quads area).…

A culinary challenge
Ok guys and gals. Here's a challenge for you as I am running out of ideas. I work in an office like most people.. In said office we have a microwave. That is all. Understanding my BF%
Good morning all, I got an Omron set of scales a couple of months ago which also has the hand and feet attachements to measure BF%. Now the strange thing is that in the last 2 months my weight has kind of yoyo'd. Although I am lighter than I was 2 months ago which I am not worried about but the BF% does some strange…
