Is decaf and diet soda as bad as they say?

Always over on my sugar!
I have noticed I am always over on my sugar. I have given up taking sugar in my tea/coffee but I still take light agave nectar. I like my trail mix bars as my snacks but I'm amazed at how much sugar is even in milk! How do you feel about sugar?
