Nose piercing
Hello! I've often thought "I'll get a nose piercing when I'm slimmer so I'm that cute, short girl with the nose stud" Now that I'm almost halfway there, I'm thinking... maybe I might get it now? But then part of me feels really nervous about it being a bad idea. What are people's experience of nose studs? especially if you…

Graduated today woop!
I began C25K on Aug 23rd, and completed it today, Oct 18th. In just under two months, I've gone from barely able to run two minutes, to running 35-40 minutes 3-4 times a week. Running has now become a habit and a hobby, I'm signed up to two races in the next two months, and I'm starting the Bridge to 10K programme this…

Just wanted to celebrate - W5D3 done!
You know how we all start off so nervous about that 20min run at the end of week 5, and it seems to unmanageable? YOU WILL ASTONISH YOURSELF. Once you hit your stride and get into the groove, there isn't much difference between 8 minutes and 20 minutes. I could have kept going when I got to 20 mins! So if it's coming up…

Two super-useful sites!
I've been doing the C25K and I'm up to w4d2. I'm starting to really enjoy running, and I've come across these two great sites (props to other MFPers who are already using these sites and inspiring me)! 1. Feeling daunted by winter coming? http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/whattowear/0,7152,s6-240-325-330-0-0-0-0,00.html (put…

Don't you just love...
the things that MFP has taught us? I just caught myself relishing every bite of the simplest treat, a slice of nice white bread with lemon garlic hummus. It was simple, yet everything I wanted. This was after I'd stopped in at the convenience store on the way home from the gym (!) and bypassed all the big chocolate bars…

NSV: getting noticed again
At work, I was wearing a new navy blue blouse which I'm particularly fond of, and a midlength black skirt. I must admit that having recenty gone down a size (!!) I was already feeling happy about how I looked that day. Then when I returned to my desk after grabbing a coffee, one of my male workfriends had emailed me…

My first NSV (cos i just learnt what that meant..)
I went to my grandparents last weekend, wearing my favourite jeans, which in hindsight were in need of a belt. While walking on the beach, I started to run after my dog and found I couldn't - not because it was hard, but because every time I tried to run, my jeans threatened to expose me! Later, reluctant to put on the…

advice for work christmas party?
Hello! I'm trying to plan how to tackle my work Christmas function. The big bosses have told us it's lots of free food and free alcohol. My work friends also LOVE to drink a lot and have been talking about how smashed they'll get - and they've been excited all week. Now I'm not one to judge cos I used to be just like that,…

Ladies - that time of the month snacking?
So I'm noticing a trend - whenever it's my time of month, I start craving chocolate and nuts and hot fatty pastry really badly, and not only that, I'm also very hungry in general. I'm assuming it's just hormones etc, but it is VERY hard to ignore the call of the cupboard. Anyone else who gets like this or just has any…

First time in 5 years!!
Hello all! I am SO excited. Just hopped on the scales today, and it says 69.95kg (154lbs)!! That's the first time I've been under 70kg since I was 16. Admittedly only just under, but I'm so happy to see a 69! Now just gotta keep working at it so I stay in the 60s :D P.S. If you get the chance to do a regular bootcamp…

A 60Cal ice cream, mmmmmm
So here in NZ it's summer, and Fruju have this new ice block, called Fruit Whip. The berry one (according to my sister) is average, but I can vouch for the Tropical one, it's so good! It's 97% fruit, and it's only 60 Calories! Super amazed and impressed. Try it :D I can have an ice cream with my friends without falling off…

Skipping
I'm a trainee teacher, and today some Canadian chick (Jill Strong, apparently super good at jump rope of all things) came to our school here in NZ today. I had figured that my skipping days were long gone, but she said it was really good exercise. Cheap and can be done practically anywhere. Then was doing it with the kids…

Do you want to lose about 25lbs?
Hello. I've been signed up to MFP for a year now, but what with one thing and another I've been off the wagon for far more time than I've been on it. I'm a 21yr old female, 165lbs, wanting to lose 25lbs so I can finally get to the 140lb mark my doctor says to aim for. If anyone is in their late teens or twenties and…

Graduation in 8 weeks, can anyone help?
Hello! I'm about to graduate on May 9th. I had hoped to be far lighter by now than I am, but that's the past and as of today I'm starting afresh. I'm about 165lbs today. I'm not sure how much weight is realistic for me to lose over the next 8 weeks, as I'm doing quite a stressful course at uni at the moment, very busy with…

So, let me get this straight..
My BMR is 1500-ish according to MFP But at the moment my MFP goal is set at 1200 per day, which would make me lose just over 1.3lb per week (i personally can't lose any faster than that according to mfp, sigh). By keeping my NET calories at 1200 per day (don't worry I am eating my exercise calories most days, I need them…

Does cellulite fade or go away?
Hello! If you're one of those people who are well into their weight loss (well done by the way), can you let me know if pesky cellulite is going away for you? I'm asking because I've lost 8lbs but I still am aiming to lose 27lbs more, and I'm wondering if I can expect my cellulite to fade, or if it's just one of those…

980cals over, sob. how to overcome it?
I'm ok really, it's just I felt a bit sad, I had to vent. That is a BIG blowout  how do you overcome those cravings for sweet and/or salty?? I really felt like sweets, but i thought, no. I'll have some herbal tea and an apple. So I did. But still craved. Waited a while, had some bread in case I was simply really…

olive oil?? are you serious?
So I've just had two OMG moments in the last 2 minutes haha. First OMG moment - My dinner was VERY filling. It was a nice big bowl of peppers, courgettes, tomatoes, and mixed frozen veges cooked up in the pan, with some chilli beans on the side just cos I like them, and a bit of parmesan cheese on top of the chilli beans.…

Morning everyone!! (though I suspect for you lovely people in Auz ur not up yet, and UK getting ready for bed, and US sometime in the afternoon) I've only been on this site for 4 days now, but I'm feeling the difference already. I usually feel lethargic and lumpy, but I've gone to the gym and/or danced around my room to…

getting up at lunch, therefore eating fewer calories?
hello! I've fallen into a routine of waking around 11am and going to bed around 1 or 2 am (I'm a uni student haha) and so its 9pm and I've only eaten lunch, dinner and snacks. myfitnesspal tells me I've eaten too few calories for today, yet I don't want to eat more, we had dinner quite late. What do you think is right,…

I'm just starting, and my daily allowance is 1440cals, more if I exercise. Lucky I'm on the crosstrainer/elliptical a lot which seems to burn a lot of calories according to the machine, but I've eaten 2000 calories and i still feel hungry... what foods are really filling and yet still low calories? cheers
