Junk Food/Sugar "detox" Group
So I've been eating way too much junk food and chocolate. Every morning I wake up saying, not today! And then I do it again. I want to do a "detox" (really I hate that word, but I mean basically no added sugar, no junk food, for a week then we'll see). I'm looking to start a high accountability group. Maybe a group chat.…

Motivated in the morning...
But utterly without motivation in the evening. Any tips?

Not poofing...
So, I met someone online and it wasn't a good fit even though we had a good time and whatnot. It was really really difficult but I sent him a quick note saying just that and wishing him luck. Anyone else find it difficult to not just poof? Especially when the guy is a genuinely nice guy but seems a bit ... puppy like?

Compliment?
Just had to share this, and I wonder if anyone else has had something similar? So I haven't lost weight in a good 6 months, I've been working on keeping steady and keep meaning to start strength training again to lose inches but I haven't had a chance. So I'm definitely still the same size, shape etc... Well this lady the…

I need running backpack help!
I bought a running backpack many months ago and have had no problems with it until now, this is the first summer that I've run with it and it's started to chafe the sides of my neck. Does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent this? It's not just a hydration pack, I run to and from work every other day, so I have some…

Staying on track while sick, suggestions, tips?
I've had a cold for a week now. I've been trying to keep my calories relatively in control, though bad me, I haven't been logging, just keeping relative mental tabs. I haven't had the energy to work out and now I've got the cough in the lungs so it will be a while before I can work out again. Does anyone have any tips on…

7 Weeks after injury, ready to get going again!
I managed to hurt my wrist when a 145lb barbell squat bent my wrist backwards, finally I've got the go ahead from my physiotherapist to go to the gym again and try it out! I'm debating on how heavy to start again, I was thinking half my previous max's (not considering the bar). Thoughts? I'm so excited! *happy dance*

Tweaked muscle, advice needed...
So last Wednesday, I tweaked my left wrist muscle. My grip slipped on my barbell during squats (145lbs), felt fine for the workout but afterwards I felt it. So, it's feeling better, but occasionally twinges doing odd things... like putting on my heart rate monitor, yet is fine for pushups... Question, do I: a) Leave it for…

Switching to morning workouts... food for thought?
I'm hoping to switch to morning workouts, first thing and then head to work. I've never done this before except for running. So yesterday I had a tea and a yogurt then headed to the gym. My Squats and OHP were fine but my deadlift was a massive fail. What was interesting is that I had to drop back down to last week's…

Does being overweight/obese make it harder to find a job?
A friend of mine is probably in the obese category. She's unemployed and working hard at trying to find a job. She's had quite a few interviews, but so far, nadda. Could it be that her weight could be the issue? It shouldn't be, of course, but people do judge. I'm going to guess that few people if any would suggest I bring…

Hollow Days
Does anyone else get hollow days? Days where no matter what you eat, drink be it healthy, unhealthy, you're almost constantly hungry and/or craving more? They don't happen often for me, but it's really frustrating.

Spaghetti Squash help please!
So last week I baked my first spaghetti squash and it turned out great! However yesterday I thought I did mostly the same thing and half of it was mush and the other half was really undercooked. Though they were from two different stores, they were about the same size, just over three lbs... Here's what I did: - washed -…

How did you meet your SO?
I've always wondered how most people meet their SO. My last bf I met through a mutual friend, the one before that was school.

Feeling pretty hard core...
No, not my abs unfortunately. But yesterday I ran to work, knowing it would rain in the afternoon/evening. Still ran home (instead of taking transit) in the pouring rain. Kept going to the gym where I have a two week trial, to start my StrongLifts program. Did this for the first time, was lightly mocked about my low…

Squat machine
So I went to the gym and was given an intro buy a personal trainer. I asked him to show me how to do all the strong lift exercises as I've never used any of the equipment before. He showed me how to do squats on a squat machine, is that ok? I'm not sure how else to do that. I'm also not sure when to ask someone to spot me.…

Curious on how you see this...
Ok, so I take a commuter train into Toronto (GO train). I'm always in the same car and it's very quiet, a lot of people catch some more sleep on the train. This morning there was a loud business gentleman (at least in his 40s) and a lady about the same age, he was quite loud, though she spoke more quietly. They were the…

To start over or continue?
I'm nearly half way through stage 3 for NROLFW. However I've not been doing well with food (long story) but that will change. I'm going to be moving into my own place so I'll be in better control, I'm going to retake measurements, photos, weight and go from there. My question is, should I continue going in NROLFW or should…

Small NSV
So part of me is craving some chocolate I have at my desk (mini bars for a small treat) but honestly, the majority of me is saying that I'm not really interested in the chocolate (this from a major chocoholic). So I'm passing it up.

Winter running in the city
I'm moving to Toronto next month and will be able to run to work (4.5km and there are showers at work :D ) But I'm not used to running in a busy city (currently run in suberbs) nor in the winter (before the sidewalks are clear). Does anyone have any tips, safety, gear that sort of thing? I'm also going to need to get a…

My second date...
So, I asked for some people's opinions on what I should do when I gave a hand shake after my last date. I sent a nice text and we're getting together for lunch today. Wish me luck!

First Date in 7 years...
So I had my first date in 7 years (was in a relationship for 5). It went well, a little awkward, but good conversation, just a coffee at lunch. But we both headed back to our respective offices, and as we said good bye it was really awkward, I shook his hand and he said "keep in touch". Not sure if I put him off, or made…

First time doing P90X!
I just finished my first day of doing P90X! It wasn't as bad as I had thought. I'm doing classic. It was nice how you could just do however many you could do without feeling like you were failing or too far behind. I'm definitely feeling it, but I also feel like I need to pick up some heavier weights for next week. Has…

Running Blisters help please!
I've been running for a year now, and for some reason during the summer I have a horrible time with blisters! I don't actually wear anything different in the winter, same shoes, same double technical wiking socks. Band-aids come off, mole skin comes off, athletic tape comes off. The blisters are on the ball of my foot, on…

Talking with exs
Ug. So my ex and I occasionally chat, and just now he struck up a conversation online. Does anyone else get depressed or down when their exs lives are going better than your own? Sigh. Is it wrong to want to be doing better than them, look better than when you were dating them, etc? And how do you turn this feeling around!?

Is this cheating?
Sometimes I weigh myself after going for a run in the afternoon, and for some reason this ends up being my lowest weight, lower than first thing in the morning... is this cheating?

Anyone get the "You're fading away"?
I went out to dinner with my mother and my step-sister. Now, I've seen my step sister a few weeks ago, and honestly the scale hasn't moved and neither has the measuring tape, but she gets in the car and is all "You're still losing weight? Don't go too far". I just took it as a compliment. The same day I'd gone shopping…
