Please, say it isn't so! The "mono diet" or choosing just one thing and eating as much of it as you like is VERY unhealthy!! Depending on what you choose you may gain or lose but you WILL suffer health consequences. No one food has the nutrients you need!
Simply eat at a well-balanced diet at a calorie deficit and the weight will fall off. I promise!6 -

9/10 256.8 -- Same as yesterday. This is the low from last round. Let’s see if we can make it the high for this round!
9/11 258.2 --Bah humbug!! Blew through sodium and calorie deficit with late night snacking. Don’t snack off diary! Go to bed, Heidi! You’re not really hungry!!
9/12 257.2 -- I must have been self-medicating with food all my life. I started to feel the barometric pressure changes yesterday afternoon as Irma blew through and my immediate response was a big snack attack and then a nap. Very interesting. Stayed within calories by having a very low cal supper.
9/13 259.4 -- Gack!!! Let’s see … take-out Chinese, late night snacking … that’ll do it!
9/14 259.2 -- I’m having difficulty getting back to the new normal. I’m falling back into old habits. I must nip this in the bud. I need to take back control. I will start this morning. I know I can do this.
9/15 258.2 -- Stayed within limits yesterday. My sole goal right now is just to do that for the rest of the challenge. CICO

9/10 - 223.8 - i was already down to 223.4 so this is almost there. Although i played about 4 hours of baseball and dodgeball today, I had my first binge day on 1.5 months and ate over 1500 calories in just sweets. I'm disappointed in myself but determined to get back on track tomorrow. I'm going to skip the gym to let my body heal a bit from this weekend but will go on an 8.5km walk. I am also doing a practice with my dodgeball team! I'm hoping the scale isn't too mean tomorrow!
9/11 - 225.0 - as expected. I'm out walking now. Getting back on track. My consequence for eating any sweets is 200 jumping jacks!
9/12 - 223.6 - ok. I'm almost back to my lowest. I would like to get to 223.0 before i leave for my trip Friday and then my goal for the weekend will be to maintain! I did baseball practice today.. I need to rest my hips and knees so no gym or walk tomorrow but i will do a few exercises at home. I have been trying to stop eating sweets so made myself a deal I would do 200 jumping jacks for everyone I had... so I need to do 400 tomorrow lol.
9/13 - 224.0 - damn. I guess the treats and not going to the gym are catching up to me despite doing some sports exercises. I did a bunch of errands today getti g ready for my trip and 200/400 jumping jacks. I will get them done by end of day. Tomorrow is may weigh in for biggest loser challenge and it doesn't look like I lost anything this week. I'm going away this weekend and hoping between all the walking and trying to choose healthy options I will maintain so I don't have to spend a whole week trying to burn it all off.
9/14 - 222.4!!! Woohoo! I completely forgot how my TOM affects my water retention and weight. This ended yesterday which i believe helps account for the big loss. Today I am packing and cleaning my house so that should burn a few calories. I also plan to stay within my calories for the day!

9/13 - 193.0 This morning it flashed 192.8 before stopping stubbornly at 193. But that's ok. I'm being a very good girl. It will drop again, I'm sure of it.
9/14 - 191.8!!! (I got on 5x! It's the real number)

9/10: 203.00- Oh yay, gained everything i lost last week in about 2 days lol!!This is water weight I'm sure. I had a lot of alcohol the past two days, didnt log, ate out dinner the past two days as well. I tried to keep it healthy but I know it was probably packed with Na+ and sugar. Also didnt drink half my normal amount of water. So heres to recovering from all the damage I did!
9/11- 204.5 same trend as last week! I have all my meals planned out for the week. Looking forward to doing better!
9/12- 205 scale is playing games this am lol. I don't believe it.
9/13- 201.6 yay heading back down. This is more like it! Hopefully I stay on this trend. Ive hit 100oz of water the past two days without trying so very happy with that
9/14- didn't weigh today. I pulled a muscle or something in my leg and decided to skip the gym this am. but I plan on staying under calories and meeting water goal again today.

Round 16
9/10 - 151.6
Last week I didn't get my usual exercise due to smoke/hazardous air quality from forest fires. My calories averaged 1830 and weight stayed steady, so this round I'm going to keep my calories at that level but get back to my usual walking 60-120 min/day and see what happens. I find these daily check ins inspiring and motivational, so thanks!
9/11 - 151.6
I went about 200 over my calorie goal, so ok. :-)
9/12 - 151.2
Back to walking (90 minutes yesterday) - yay!
9/13 - 151
Getting my daily walks and sticking to my calories goal (~1850). I've also changed my macro goals a bit this time around to 25-30% protein, 30-35% fat (heavy on healthy fats), and 35-40% carbs (mostly non-starchy veggies, fruits, and a teeny bit of whole grain and/or legumes and/or nuts and seeds). Increasing the fat and reducing the carbs slightly makes me less hungry - yay! I do indulge in either a little good chocolate or some licorice - no more that 100 calories, to be eaten slowly and savored! Because all things in moderation, including moderation. :-)
9/14 - 150.8
I had an extra 200 calories yesterday, but all good, healthy ones, and they don't seem to have hurt me so far. It's a gorgeous day here, so I plan to backpack my laptop to Starbucks (30 minutes), work a couple of hours, and backpack home. I've been trying to walk anywhere I need to go within 2 miles (unless I'll have stuff to carry!). I'm a writer and often write in coffee shops, and luckily there are several within 1-2 miles. I just wish my laptop were a bit lighter! But I remind myself that the extra weight = more calories burned. :-)
9/15 - 151.2
Ah, the time lag. Yesterday I ate 1850 and walked 90 minutes, so this small uptick is from Thurs. I think water is also a factor, since I did have more sodium than usual. I won't be walking today (the smoke is back), but I have today's food all planned. I sometimes consider cutting back on calories, but I don't want to mess up my metabolism again, so I'm learning patience. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

9/10-129.2 Holding steady at this weight. New plateau?
9/11-130.2 Maybe from dinner last night, it was salty. Seems like I'm going up by a pound at a time due to sodium but it doesn't go back down, just sits there no matter how much water I drink.
9/12-129.4 This is better.

Round 16 SW: 159.6
GW1: 142
9/10: 159.6 /I'm very disappointed with this weight. Ate very poorly yesterday for the first time in over 40 days. Yesterday I was at 158. Ate well and went swimming today. Hopefully, I'll be back down tomorrow!
9/11: 160.2 /Still disappointed. I feel like I'm paying the price for poor eating on Saturday. I ate under my goal yesterday and will be just under my goal today. Hopefully, things will start looking up again.
9/12: 158 /Finally back to where I was on Saturday! Hopefully it's onward and downward from here! Ate under calories yesterday. Need to go to the gym today!
9/13: 157.8 /Really loved the WOOSH yesterday and glad it's sticking around! Did make it to the gym yesterday but only did weights. Didn't have the energy for cardio. Will try to do both today! Stayed within calorie goal but went over by 50g in carbs yesterday. And had a square of apple pie today . I'll make sure to stay in my calorie range today despite the treat!
9/14: 157 /Started weighing everyday for this challenge, so I downloaded the Happy Scale app to track the trend. I'm curious to see what it'll show once it has more data points. Stayed within calories yesterday but didn't go to the gym. I will go today! Packed my gym clothes and everything. Did a tad better with water but have to drink more today.
9/15: 157 /Stayed at 157...I'm glad it's not going up! Ate well and did both weights and cardio yesterday. Ate all right up until now today but going to a work bar thing which may deadly. Fingers crossed that I don't go over in calories too much, especially because I have a reunion brunch on Sunday with grad school friends.

9/10 - 237.4 felt good about my daily losses for the week. Poor planning led me to cheat on keto, but I still logged, which I'm proud of.
9/11 - 238.2 I expected this gain after the carbs from yesterday, but it was less than I expected. I usually get water gains of at least 2 pounds. Maybe I didn't cheat as bad as I thought or I've been keeping up with hydration. Regardless, I've already gotten back to my normal diet and am excited. Super close to being 10 pounds down from my starting/highest!!
9/12 - 237.4 back again! only .4 to 10 lbs lost (hopefully, I'll see it tomorrow)! I'm determined to be very strict for these days leading up to my birthday
9/13 - 236.4 A GIRL IS OFFICIALLY DOWN 10.6 POUNDS!! #got; I'm really enjoying this challenge so far. The engagement in addition to the progress is super motivating!
9/14 - 234.8 major cravings yesterday, but managed to fight the urge, and I'm happy I did. I haven't seen a number this low for quite a while. At this point, I don't even mind if it's all water, I'm really just happy to have the strength of will to keep going long enough to see results of any kind.

9/10: 223.4 .......Went to an ice cream social last night at church. Had more ice cream than people; now I have 1 1/2 half gallons of ice cream in my freezer!
9/11: 223.8 ........... Brought my grandson a Lil Caesar's pizza yesterday, but when I got
home, his mother had picked him up, so the 1 slice I had eaten turned into 3! I mean, somebody's got to eat it, right! Oh, did I mention the ice cream? Well, there's only one half gallon left now! The Wellness Ctr. wasn't open this morning because of Irma, so I didn't get my workout! What can I say? That's life; and life goes on! Tomorrow the pizza will be gone, cookies & cream is not my favorite ice cream, the center will be open again, and things will be back to normal! Look out 220, here I come! LET'S MAKE SEPTEMBER A MONTH TO REMEMBER!!!
9/12: 222.4....Hello MFP family! Guess what? Today is the first day of the rest of my life!
9/13: 222.4.....Looking for 221 tomorrow, and 220 before the end of this challenge! ONWARD AND DOWNWARD!
9/14: 222.1......Well, I didn't make 221, but I was close! If I do right today, I'll make it tomorrow for sure. And if not tomorrow, the day after; the point being, I WILL MAKE IT!!!!
9/15: 221.5.........Awwww, looka there now; didn't I tell ya I was gonna make it!!! Oh, yes I Did!
I have two funerals this weekend - one Saturday and one Sunday, and both of them are close kin! That means food, food, and more FOOD! The five hour drive alone will make me hold fluid! Well, what can I say? I SURE HOPE THEY HAVE SALAD (AND I DON'T MEAN POTATO)!!!

That's what we're here for-to listen and not judge. We're all in this together! You are not alone! Are you depressed all the time, or just when your husband is gone? I've been guilty of binge eating myself, and come to think of it, it was always when I was alone and under a lot of stress! When I finally talked to my doctor about it, he prescribed a mild anti depressant which really helped! Another thing that helped me was finding activities outside the house, like church, small group studies, bible studies, window shopping, or joining an exercise club! These are things I do by myself-for myself! Be good to yourself! You're worth it!

9/11: 175 lbs. My day off, I lazed around. The day isn't over but so far I'm staying well within my calories and no sugar. Not enough protein, though.
9/12: 175.5 lbs, ugh, still paying for Sunday's cheese binge maybe. Well, I'm under my daily calories again today, no added sugar, no impulse eating. Been doing well on getting enough water. Haven't been eating after 8:00 pm.
9/13: 175 lbs. Staying in my calories, no added sugar, no impulse eating, plenty of water, decent amt of protein, it's early yet but no reason to eat after 8pm. Boring work day but decent diet day.
9/14: 173 lbs. I know it's a fluctuation, but I'll take it! I was stuck in a 175.5/175/175.5 loop for 10 days so I needed a win. I'm now officially 10+ lbs down from when I rejoined MFP this time.

I'm a little concerned about tomorrow, I have a physical event at work and there will be lots of snacks. Bringing nuts and dried apricots for an energy boost so i can avoid the sugary granola bars. I LOVE this group!! You ladies are so supportive and accepting! Your kind words really lifted me up. :-)
@HeidiCooksSupper - Thank you so much for your kind words and inspiration! It means a lot to me. I love this quote you said. 'Behave in ways that will make you feel good longer than just while your mouth is full.' That's soooo true!! It's nice having another person understand what I'm going through. And you're right about it having to do with boredom and definitely a rebellious nature. Like I'm getting away with something. Which is really stupid. Or maybe a control thing. Anyway I need to figure it out.
@Cyranda63 - Thank you so much to responding to my post! What is it about being alone and going crazy with food? You're doing great with your weight loss so you've obviously got this thing under control.
@Slimpossible007 - Thanks for your kind words! It means a lot to me!
@KayHBE - Thanks for all the great suggestions! I really appreciate you taking the time to address my post.
@quiltingjaine - Thanks for responding! I don't knit or sew (although my mom did, it's a butterfly that she quilted in my profile picture) but that is a great suggestion! Keeping my hands busy.
@rparkerslim - Thanks for your kind, encouraging words. I don't think overall I'm depressed, just when my hubby is gone and I feel overwhelmed with the kids. I've thought about talking to my doctor about it. I may do so at my next appointment.12 -

9/15: 174 lbs. I knew yesterday wasn't for real, oh well. Stayed in calories, no added sugar, no impulse eating.
I'm a little concerned about tomorrow, I have a physical event at work and there will be lots of snacks. Bringing nuts and dried apricots for an energy boost so i can avoid the sugary granola bars. I might be very hungry if I stay in my calories for the day but it won't really be loggable exercise. (A lot of standing in the sun & carrying things around.)

I LOVE how you're bringing your own snacks! That's a wonderful way to stick to it. I do that as well, and it really helps.7
