Or have I been over consuming carbs this whole time? Do we deduct sugar alcohol to get the net carbs?? Please help

Query on healthy fat intake
Hi all, I am a novice to all of this but I have been reading a bit about that as long as you are eating real foods etc you are getting high quality nutrients. I have tried to reduce my carb intake as much as possible as I found I would be more tired after eating this sort of food. I have started eating foods such as eggs…

Carbohydrate difference
We use MFP to input my wife’s food intake so we can easily calculate the carbohydrates in the food she eats. She is diabetic using insulin so obviously she needs accurate carb data to know how much insulin to inject. We use both the iPhone and iPad app to input the data. I’ve noticed today though that on one food item at…

Side effects of additives
When I was 13 I had braces and I ended up grinding my teeth and breaking them off. The orthodontist ended up taking them off and my teeth never got straightened. After getting braces off the grinding habit remained and it's really plagued me all my life. I've labelled it as a nervous habit as no matter how hard I try not…

How to log food correctly?
How would you go about in documenting food that you didn't prepare? or bought? For instance, my office gave out bagged lunches (sandwich, two cookies, apple and a bag of chips). I selected turkey. I removed the cheese and was grateful there was about a teaspoon of lemon dill mayo on it. If I search for turkey sandwich,…

Daily calories consumption formula.
Hi there, Can you explain the daily calorie consumption formula shown on the homepage tab of the app? Why did to add the exercise calories to the overall formula. To be in calories deficit, we have to eat less than the burned. So i don't really understand how this formula works by adding the calories burned in exercise.

Calories fluid in tinned peaches
I'm currently experimenting with creatine. The only way to make it half palatable is to mix the powder with the sticky juice from tinned peaches. The calories of the peaches is 66kcal/100gr drained. Any suggestions for the liquid? I'd guess it's about the same, or even more, but I have no idea.

A Calorie is a Calorie, Right!
I've always had my doubts. In a recent video by Shawn Baker MD, he pointed out a study that was done on rats or mice. The rats that were given a high carb diet gained weight and had illnesses. The Rats or mice that were given a low carb diet became healthier. The calorie counts were the same for both groups. So I theorize…

Alcohol less and less
8-10 years ago I would have brunch with the ladies on a lazy Saturday sipping champagne, eating, and relaxing by the pool. Calculating calories in homemade Greek/strained yogurt
I feel like this may be obvious, but I tried Googling and couldn't figure it out. I make 1% yogurt at home, but it is quite thin due to the lower fat content. As such, I strain the yogurt so that it's thicker (and tastier). I know that Greek yogurt is better than regular yogurt due to the protein, fat, sugars, etc., but I…

Sugar in fruit
My dialysis nutritionist said fruit is a carb, not sugar. Why does your app count sugar in fruit then?
