Do you mean the posts on the recent discussions from the chit chat forums? If so, you can go to the home link https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/ it should bring up the list of subforums. There, if you hover the mouse on the forum titles on the left hand side, a cog/wheel will appear..click on it, and select unfollow.
When you go back to recent discussions https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussions (all new posts from all subforums) no posts from the subforums that you have marked unfollow will appear..1 -

We are sorry to hear that you are receiving spam via messages. Please contact support by clicking on this link: http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new or send an email to support@myfitnesspal.com with the username of the user sending spam and we can investigate further.4 -

@psulemon @kgeyser @JustSomeEm @35dollars @tiptoethruthetulips Thanks!
If I could get a Mod reminder if I put this type of spam in the right spot or if it should have just been reported in the thread it was in? I've forgotten... appreciate it!0 -

Thanks for reporting and checking @Hearts_2015
As a first action, you should click the Flag > Spam on these ones, and then if it doesn't go away really quickly, posting here will help bump it along. Thanks again!1 -

Great, Thanks for the reminder @Alex Here's a very tiny cookie for you , you won't even have to count. :laugh: Why you could probably eat a dozen and not have to count them at all. It'll be like you never really had a cookie at all!

Is there a guideline on what is to be seen as spam? I mean, where do we draw the line. I have people seen to promote their websites/businesses. I am torn when it is both on topic (so no spam?) and undisclosed that they are connected to the stuff they are promoting (so spam?)0

@Alex @psulemon @kgeyser @JustSomeEm @35dollars @tiptoethruthetulips
Lots of spam from http://www.myfitnesspal.com/dispatch/mobile/user/lguruji78/profile/lguruji78
As example - (way to many to tag and copy into this msg)

The 'Introduce Yourself' section is being completely inundated. There were almost two solid pages worth when I started flagging them.

@Alex, spams pretty bad and there hasn't been a mod on for around 3.5 hours, based on how long it goes back. From a quick look at the mod list and a search of the forums, only 3 of your mods have been active in the last week - 1 of them hasn't posted in months. I also don't think you have any mods who aren't US based (and therefore likely asleep). Maybe a recruitment or 2 might be necessary?2
