    Pretentious.
Let's say you're 100% correct. You were clearly moved to retort.
Thus, does that say more about me?
    ...Or you?

    Banal.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.
Well, clearly one of us didn't get it.

    Clearly.

My following question is not in any manner intended to be condescending, insulting nor inflammatory. It is a serious query...

What is the allure of the "game" strings? Specifically, the "I'll say you're attractive, then you say I'm attractive, and we'll all talk in self-gratifying circles for thousands and thousands and posts" threads.

What is the value and purpose?

It comes-off as a handful of people that are desperately looking for validation from complete strangers.

    Am I missing something?

I've asked myself the same question every time I see these juvenile; "Say something to the person above" type threads. I just don't get it.
    Nor I.

You know what I don't get?

People who feel the need to question other peoples' motives, only so that they can then bust out whatever theory they have that makes them feel superior to said people.

Don't like the "games" threads? Ignore them. That's what I do.

But don't use them as a reason to show us all how smart you are.
    Ironic.

On a related note, I like to think one's intellect is weighed pursuant to their ability to dismantle a propagated, long-winded diatribe, with a single word.

Bully! (as an exclamation, not a noun)

On another note, let's talk about you, a subject you're fond of. What is it that you're looking for, here at MFP. your profile is obviously a shame. We, well at least, I know you're not a 35 year old female. So what are your goals here? Did you join just to troll the forums? What is it that you're hoping to gain or achieve from MFP?

word up. I admit it I love the game threads. I have a husband who is very in love with me and a fulfilling life. It's just a good time to talk to people that are funny and challenge your mind! It's not all about hot or not!

*In order, more googling may be.

Yoda's syntactical quirk is predicated on the placement of the object of the predicate at the beginning of the sentence. It is not merely a rearrangement of the words to "sound funny" to your ear.

    There's rules, pal.
    Um. Ok sure.
Wearing Star Wars pajamas, are you now?

    Uhhhh ... Khakis.

    You...sound...hideous.

but at 3 in the morning??
  • I find this thread quite ironic. But then I'm not a lawyer like the OP so perhaps I'm just not smart enough to get it. Anxiously awaiting the snappy "you are an idiot" reply....

I thought Sam Beckett was dreamy at 3am the other day...I think the key words are '3am' though.

    *You're*
And that wasn't very snappy. Not nearly enough underhanded insult.

And there's something wrong with this is there?

Yes. Posters attempting to be clever, whilst failing to utilize proper punctuation.

    You're so smart.

I can tell because you use words like "whilst".
