Real or Artificial? The Christmas tree debate.

From the earliest time I can remember, I've always grown up with an artificial Christmas tree. It was easy to put together, take down, and I didn't have to worry about pine needles (which I am allergic to) all over.
But I was in a relationship in the 90's where my GF at the time was so "Earthy", that she refused to have an artificial tree. So for 3 years I endured, buying a tree, finding a way to make it balance correctly in the stand, clean up pine needles, and then drag it out of the house to get rid of it.
After that relationship, I went directly back to having an artificial tree and have never looked back.
So I just put my tree up, and with a smile, sprayed some "pine tree scent" to finish the job.

So real or artificial for you?

The perfect tree has already been chosen, now I just need to decorate it.

Why go fake if you can get real... it's so much better

I guess both have their merits. I too grew up with artificial trees most years. I like them a lot and just put up a huge real wreath indoors from the boy scouts for the scent. How American is that?!

Fake, because knowing me I'd be that person whose house caught on fire, plus most apartments don't allow real trees. I LOVE earthy stuff but I still worry.
I think if you buy a fake good quality tree and have it most your life that is the way to go.

Artificial all the way now that the kids are outta da house. My fav is an antique silver tree with the color wheel. We put our old childhood toys under it and use the new artificial tree for the official stuff. Red ornaments only thank you.

Uggghhh. I hate cardio too. I live in the city so I'd have to buy one on the street and walk it home too. Not a bad burn.

Lol, that's why I suggested it! Get some dreaded cardio in and at the same time enjoy some Christmas spirit.
Now I expect you to put up a pic when your done.

We have a mix of trees, 1 real that we go out and hunt for in the bush, 1 full size artificial, 1 medium artificial and 3 little ones plus all the trimmings all over the house. It's a beautiful time of year!

Lol, I just watched the scene in "A Christmas Story" where old man Parker put the lights on the tree and plugged it in.

fake one for a fiver from poundstretchers (not bad value because it looks good and is 4 feet tall and the house we live in is tiny so it's just the right size for the house).... plus the bog standard fairy lights for 2.99 also from poundstretchers and a couple of pieces of tinsel. I gave the kids scissors, glue, shiny ribbon and shiny paper and had them make the rest. So the tree has wonky angels, baubles made from scrunched up paper covered in glittery paper, and a hello kitty toy in a gold tissue-paper dress.

Win-win as in it cost very little and the kids had a lot of fun making the stuff for it.
