For me, it's gotta be real. But if you are allergic, then I'd go artificial.

I go artificial. The real ones are a fire hazard and contain over 20,000 insects on average. I'll pass.

Plus a fake one is a one-time investment.

Disagree. Cooking bacon smell beats it.

Had real trees for about 58 years. Three years ago I bought a fake tree. This is the third year we have put it up. It's pretty. It's paid for. The lights are already attached, so all my wife does is add the other decorations. It's not a fire hazard.

I do miss the smell of the natural tree, but on Christmas, halfway through my 5th Hot Buttered Rum with the smells of Turkey and Ham cooking, I don't even notice.

I prefer artificial because it lasts years and years and you don't have that crappy pine-leaves-falling-on-the-floor kind of situation.

My husband is allergic to real. And I probably am too.

So fake. we have an awesome "slim" tree that fits into the corner and I love it. Yay Walmart

Ah, it's almost Christmas again before Thanksgiving. Time to think about putting up the lights again.

reeeeeal! the clean up afterwards is a pain, but it's so much more fun going to pick out the perfect tree, bringing it home and then decorating it. and the smell! <3 lalalalove it!

I guess both have their merits. I too grew up with artificial trees most years. I like them a lot and just put up a huge real wreath indoors from the boy scouts for the scent. How American is that?!

    Makes sense to me. Smart!
