One of my son's friends has a more frustrating situation. He loves cats; his father is very allergic. I had 10 years of weekly/monthly shots to get rid of my cat allergy. Didn't totally work but it's so much better now. It wasn't in the US though so it didn't cost me anything...0 -

Yeah I have an allergic friend who gets allergy shots because of her cats. She says it's worth it.
