Wedding in T-minus 3 weeks

Hello-
It's been too long since ive been on here- and I'm looking for some help. My brother is getting married in 2 and a half weeks and I am looking to look the best I can. Obviously major weightloss takes longer than 2 and a half weeks, and I'm not looking to loose a lot of weight, but what are people's tips for looking the best they can before an event?
I've cut out alcohol, am drinking tons of water and trying to limit my carb intake? Thoughts? I tend to bloat/gain weight in my face and I'd love to lose that extra chub in my cheeks for a great smile in photos.
Thanks in advance!

Why did you wait until two weeks before the wedding? Surely, you knew it was coming?
There's nothing you can do. Drink a lot of water and get some sleep.-1 -
this is something that you should've started months and months ago. Since you only have about two weeks, I'd just eat at a reasonable yet responsible deficit and hope for the best. There's not much that can be done in that time frame. look into getting some spanx and enjoy the wedding, no matter what your weight is.0
-
I've been watching what I'm eating and trying to exercise more, especially with the holidays, I just haven't been tracking anything, and I'm looking for a big boost in the final stretch! Thanks for the advice on sleep, I always forget about how important that is!0

Just want to add, you can do this....it's good advice.
But you won't lose enough in two weeks to make a visible difference.0 -
I think you need to look up contouring/highlighting on youtube for the face. If you're in a sleeveless dress, you might have enough time to see the beginnings of toned arms, so start doing reps.0

LOL, no.

I started noticing a difference in my arms in about that time.0

If you're not in a healthy weight category then that means you have some weight to lose - which leads us to a low carb diet. Limiting carbs will allow your body to utilize fats and burn it off. Carbs also cause insane bloating and eating them with salt will cause water retention. I'd say as for diet-wise: lower your carbs (be careful of the carby veg) up your water intake, lower salt intake to minimize bloating. If you can get a solid hour of cardio (running, jogging, walking) in daily would also be good. Enjoy the wedding!0

Hard to believe. Sometimes we want to believe though. But, it depends on what you were doing before. You aren't going to go 0 to visible muscle tone in two weeks.
OP - If you haven't been lifting, I wouldn't get your hopes up. If you have been lifting, just keep with your routine. If you aren't lifting, start lifting because you will reap benefits over time (beyond the wedding) and that is something to shoot for.0 -

Your body burns off fat when it's in a calorie deficit. Carbs have nothing to do with fat burn.0 -
Get lots of sleep for the week leading up to the wedding, at the least. You've already started what you are able. If you are consistent with low carb right now and don't cheat, you should be able to drop water weight at a minimum which will get you a couple of pounds. Sleep is the only other variable to add into the equation for now.0

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with where I am and lost a ton of weight this summer and have been able to maintain, just looking to get rid of that extra post-Christmas face bloating

Low carb helps you lose water weight quickly. But you gain it right back if you start eating carbs again.0

Aww congrats to your brother. You already know that you should have started earlier lol so I will save that part. In that amount of time you can lose a good 5 lbs of fat, and even more in water weight. Aside from the common sense caution of cutting calories and exercising more, I would suggest incorporating green smoothies into your diet! They work like a charm at getting rid of extra bloat. Also drink at least a cup of green tea per day. You don't have to limit carbs or anything just don't overeat over the next few weeks.-1

You're not tracking, just 'watching what you eat'? Then how do you know you're in a deficit? It doesn't matter if you eat 2000 calories of vegetables or 2000 calories of chocolate, you probably wouldn't lose. I'd recommend logging and eating at a sensible deficit and exercising a bit more, though it's doubtful you'll lose much in 2 weeks. And like everyone else said, get plenty of sleep. Good luck, and have fun at the wedding!0

NO.
Honestly at least I provided some kind of advice and motivation to the OP. You just told her there's nothing that can be done at all, which isn't true. A difference can be achieved in 2.5 weeks, even if it's just feeling better in general - that will help her confidence shine through come the wedding day which is great - whether she loses 10 lbs or none at all. So shut up and go back under the rock you tried to escape from
Please show me some evidence that drinking smoothies is going to help her with a 5 lb fat loss in 2 weeks.
There is stuff she can do. Eat at a deficit, drink water, exercise to feel good and sleep. But, no, she will not lose enough in 2 weeks to see a visible change. No matter what kind of magic potions you try to peddle around here.
And, honestly, OP - everyone knows this poster is either a troll or extremely misinformed. Proceed with caution.0 -

Yes, a small difference can be made in that time period... but not with smoothies. They don't work and there is zero proof that they do.0 -
This is all I've got:
1. Watch your sodium intake. Some people get affected by sodium and that might be your bloat.
2. Spanx for your body.
3. PP suggested make-up contouring which is probably your best bet.
Maybe your face isn't bloated, but chubby? I know that sounds mean, but some people, including me, have chubby cheeks and the chub is just going to be there.0 -
Highlighting and contouring can work wonders for slimming your face. Try that for makeup in addition to eating at a deficit for some weight loss.0

If you look at my post again, I also suggested cutting calories, exercising more, green tea, not overeating, and not worrying about carbs. Not just smoothies.-2 -

Yes! Watch your sodium - this is a good point too.-2 -
If you haven't already, cut out all sodas, including diet ones. This makes a huge difference w/me. Good luck and have fun at the wedding.0

I suggested cutting calories, exercising more, green tea, not overeating, and not worrying about carbs. Yet all you got from that was smoothies. How is any of this misinformation? Lol you clearly have some issues. OP, I think it's clear who is trying to help you more (even if it's just motivation). All PRMinx brought to your post is negativity from the get go.
Negativity? Not quite.
I don't promise things to people that don't happen. A 5lb weight loss in two weeks? Hard to accomplish. Would it be visible if she did? Probably not. I can swing 10 pounds and you wouldn't notice.
And you're the one who brings up smoothie in every thread because you think they are some kind of miracle cure but, in reality, they are just a tool for you restrict calories.
