Agreed, I cut out soda and juice a long time ago and never looked back, so it didn't occur to me that people still drink this stuff haha kidding! But it's a great tip - OP do this for some instant weigh loss for sure, if you're a chronic soda drinker.-3 -

In that amount of time you can lose a good 5 lbs of fat, and even more in water weight. Aside from the common sense caution of cutting calories and exercising more, I would suggest incorporating green smoothies into your diet! They work like a charm at getting rid of extra bloat. Also drink at least a cup of green tea per day. You don't have to limit carbs or anything just don't overeat over the next few weeks.
NO.
Honestly at least I provided some kind of advice and motivation to the OP. You just told her there's nothing that can be done at all, which isn't true. A difference can be achieved in 2.5 weeks, even if it's just feeling better in general - that will help her confidence shine through come the wedding day which is great - whether she loses 10 lbs or none at all. So shut up and go back under the rock you tried to escape from
Yes, a small difference can be made in that time period... but not with smoothies. They don't work and there is zero proof that they do.
If you look at my post again, I also suggested cutting calories, exercising more, green tea, not overeating, and not worrying about carbs. Not just smoothies.
Yes, I read your entire post and you did mention those (even though green tea shouldn't be in that list either)... But by mentioning smoothies, you're spreading misinformation. THUS, the reason why I only mentioned that part.0 -

Meh, all I can speak on is what helped me lose 20lbs and keep it off. If you don't agree with it no worries! just sharing what worked for me as OP seems to be in a bit of a crutch so if she's interested she can choose to research further and run it by her doc.-1 -
OP, sorry to hijack your thread lol... My advice would be to listen to the ones who have been here the longest and have had the most success. You won't lose a lot, but calorie restriction via a calorie deficit along with lots of water, some excercise, and adequate rest is a sure fire way to try and lose possibly 2-5 pounds in that time frame. Although, I wouldn't expect a loss of more than that.0

Just because someone's been here the longest doesn't necessarily mean that have the most success. Just like how a person's physique (good or bad) isn't always a good representation of his or her knowledge of fitness. I've had an MFP account for years just only started posting and getting active on here recently. Advice from someone who has been here FOREVER and still trying to lose weight? Sorry but I personally would take it with a grain of salt.-2 -

Please reread my comment... I said people who have been here the longest AND have had the most success. Please don't bend peoples words to fit your point of view. Not everyone on this site is still trying to lose weight. Some are maintaining because they have already hit their goal weight and choose to remain on here because it keeps them accountable.0 -
My advice is to buy a nice outfit and call it a day. Whatever you weigh on your brother’s wedding day is what you will weigh. There isn’t any need to get yourself all twisted and worked up at this point. You have stated that you already lost a ton of weight so why get yourself stressed out at this point over a few pounds? If I were you, I would make sure I get plenty of sleep and deal with the remaining weight loss after the wedding.0
-
I thought the OP was looking for tips to look her best on her brother's wedding day? Not lose lots of weight.
I'd go with low carb for a couple of weeks, and drink lots of water, and exercise lots. You're not going to drop a load of weight but you'll lose some water weight, and feel less bloated, and hopefully it'll make your skin look good, and therefore you'll feel better about yourself.
A new haircut maybe? And lots of sleep as you said.

This is another good approach. However much you weigh won't matter if you look very stressed/tired about trying to lose a few pounds.-1 -
FWIW... Lyle suggests 700ish calories daily, all protein. No cardio and heavy lifting. He doesn't recommend it, only suggests it if someone insists on "crash dieting"... and advises not doing it for extended periods of time, I believe no more than 2 weeks.-1

To echo some other posts, you won't lose any noticeable weight in that time. To look your best on the big day:
1. Get plenty of sleep
2. Little or no alcohol
3. Drink lots of water
4. Make-up
5. Spanx0 -

IF you had been diligent well before the wedding, then the last couple of weeks of some carb depletion, etc. would probably be beneficial, however one could crash diet and the actual physical difference in body and face would HARDLY be noticed at all on such short notice.
It's like a fighter getting a 2 week notice of a big fight and they better be ready. Unlikely to happen.
Not trying to be negative here, just giving you correct information based on experience.

Quite frankly, you do not have enough time to completely change your body. At the most, you might be able to lose five pounds in that time (mostly water weight though). Instead of falling into a fad diet, it might be best to limit your sodium to no more than the upper limit (2300mg -excess sodium can lead to bloating and water weight gain), possibly lower your calories to 500 below your maintenance (losing one pound per week), and find an outfit (and/or a good pair of spanx) that you feel incredibly confident in.0

What you said made it seem like people were only here to lose weight. You assumed that they were on here to lose weight, when truthfully, not all people on MFP are here for that reason. I know you certainly weren't talking about me... I've been here for 9 months and have lost a total of almost 55 pounds. I'd call that pretty damn successful.0 -

Eating a healthy diet, getting a good amount of sleep, and exercise will help you glow. If you feel "puffy" after the holidays, cut back on salt. A happy, contented smile will be the best enhancement for the pictures. Being well rested will help immensely with that.0

The above approach is much more sensible and will be more effective if you wear the right outfit. Maybe smile and chill a bit as well.0 -

Reducing sodium is possibly the fastest way to lose water weight and bloat. Avoid canned and processed foods high in this, as well as salty snacks like salted nuts and seeds. And I agree with the confidence part as well. OP - best of luck in your weight loss and be sure to post an update after the wedding on how any of our suggestions worked for you.-2
