    Also do you ice your calf? I make ice cups in small kid size paper cups that I can rub on the sore area. I have used them after running when I have had injuries to my shin, calf and feet and they work great to reduce the inflammation and stiffness.

    No, I'm bad about remembering ice. But thanks for reminding me, I'll do it next time!
    It feels so much better today! I have strength training after work so didn't run this morning.

    Right on schedule. I have a 15k on the 7th that it looks I'm on track to do fairly easily. On another note, it turns out that "Shampoochies" that I posted the picture of the other day is actually a dog groomer that sells "bakery" items for pets. Their website shows pictures of dog biscuits and other treats for pets that are decorated like birthday cakes and such. That's not as weird as I first thought, but still....do dogs really care if their snacks say happy birthday on them?

    I agree. Doesn't seem to matter what's wrong a good run will set me back to right.

    I'm constantly preaching to my non-running friends that you're "only one workout away from a good mood". I saw that on a meme and adopted it as my running mantra. No matter how bad a mood I'm in, I always come off a run feeling good. I too wish I'd known this years ago.

    Another bit of information from the bbCode field you will want to store for yourself is the link to the ticker you just created - that's the bit in the url tag, e.g.
    [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/exercise/wCGWc43/]

    If you go to that address in your browser and enter your password, you can change the ticker, for example to add a few miles.
    If you forget to save the URL to take you to your ticker, you can also click on your ticker from a previous post and it will take you to the page where you enter your password and update the ticker.
    Yes, forgot about that, that's also an option. In that case you'll have to copy the entire bit in the "bbCode" into your post, not only the image bit, otherwise the clicking doesn't work.

    I do usually just post the entire bbCode just because it is easier to copy all of it :smiley:

    Does anyone have a go to treatment or work around for a sore toe? I have one that feels like I dropped something on it (didn't) and I didn't notice it hurting until well after my race last Sunday. I have tried moleskin and a band-aide and it is just sore. The nail is reddish (not purple or black) and it is my middle toe and not one I would usually have issue with.

    I've never had an issue with the nail on a middle toe, but in my experience when the nail is really sore & turns that reddish color it will turn black. I just keep running and wait for the new nail to grow. The good news is if that's what's wrong it won't hurt anymore after it's black. I don't know whether to hope that's all it is or not.
