Good evening walking buddies! I did a 2.5 mile walk with my dog this afternoon. I have been a bit sore and haven't gotten all my steps in today (8,490) but I will work harder at it tomorrow. I am just going to keep on truckin' and see where it takes me. Hope you are all out having happy walking trails!

I'm looking forward to the group support. I started my own walking challenge 2 days ago, I'm excited for the motivation.

Good evening walking pals! I woke up this morning with a pinched nerve in my neck. I have been miserable all day. Of COURSE I made the decision to sit today out and rest until my neck felt better. This evening, it felt a lot better. I was back and forth, should I go? Should I skip it? It was almost dark and I thought, maybe staying in would be the best course of action as there are still some really big puddles out there ... a woman and a small dog, alone ... in the dark? Yeah, staying home today. BUT, I mustered the energy, leaving the house saying, "Okay, at least a half mile, we have to do AT LEAST a half mile." We clocked a nice 2 mile hill walk this evening! At the half mile point, I thought, well I feel like I can keep going, and then another and another until 2 miles went by and we did it! I really didn't feel like I was going to get a walk in at all today. I had a BUNCH of reasons (excuses) to not do it ... so I am feeling so proud of myself that I DID do it! It may not seem like much to many of you 5+ mile walkers but it was huge to me. I am getting a little bit done every day! YAY! Hope you all had a great walk today, as well!! =)

Awesome job Gwennie60 you beat one of the biggest obstacles of exercising... our excuses. You have me motivation, I'm going to join the walking challenge. If it doesn't snow, I'll start tomorrow. First goal 2 miles.

I just got a new battery for my VirginPulse meter. So today I logged 8,593 steps. Count me in. I am inspired by several who log over 10,000.

Thanks, Jasminelipscomb! I had a bunch of them yesterday! I did walk today, 2.5 miles. But, when I took my doggie to the vet this afternoon, he did tell me I have to stop taking her on the hills! Apparently, her little leg (which had the ball joint from her right hip removed due things that happened before we rescued her) can't take the hills. SO, I will need to take her for more flat walks and I will need to work on something more rigorous for myself. I was a bit bummed but I will either add another exercise to our walking or I will have to do two walks, one with her and one without her. Otherwise I have to lug her up the hills and even though she is only 22.5 lbs, that's a lot of extra weight for those big hills (one of which I had to really struggle up this morning), needless to say, I don't think that will be an option! LOL

I really enjoyed our walk this morning and since we had the vet appointment this afternoon -- I didn't have time to procrastinate it! It felt good getting it out of the way first thing this morning! With everything I have done today, I have 4.89 miles in (according to the FitBit) and the day is not over ... maybe I will actually hit 5 miles! But, of course, only 2.5 miles was my intentional walk so that's what really counts. Happy trails, streets, treadmills, or whatever you are doing to log your walking miles, people! Until tomorrow!

Logged in a 3 mile mostly "flat" walk today. I didn't do much of any other exercise but I will definitely need to see about doing something to scorch those cals that I am not burning walking the hills with the dog. So bummed she can't do the hills any more. But, we are still getting our treks in ... even if they are mostly flat. =)
