So many fellow success stories. Started in February 2013, reached my goal about 15 months later and have been maintaining the last seven months or so.

Three hours plus walking and climbing flights of stairs. Currently 5'9" 155, no idea what I was at my highest, but guessing just about three bills. So about 150 pounds, definitely about 23 inches off my waist.

But so many of you have made amazing progress, it's just another nice story. :-)

Still a work in progress. My before picture isn't me at my highest, but when I refocused on doing this long term.

5'10", this is from 284 to 166 and has taken me about a year and a half. Not sure how much more I want to lose, though I'm pretty sure I've done enough damage that the skin will always be an issue. But I'll take that over being morbidly obese :)

Started my journey back in May 2007 at 237 lbs - was down to 178 by September of that year - had some fluctuations but stayed under 200 until last year when I went back up to 212 or so. Then I started run/walks last summer and got back into the 180s. Joined a local gym in December 2014 and today I'm at 186 lbs with a body fat percentage of 19.4. I don't know that the first pic was taken in 2007, but it's all I could find, and that's definitely how I looked. Third pic is a recent one.

Wow!!! Fabulous progress! Well done - you look great! Do you have a particular goal in mind? Also what height & age are you?

I'm a similar shape/size as your January photos - I'm 42, 5'5" and was 181lbs on Jan 1st, am now 167lbs....aiming for 140lbs (or maybe a little lower) by June as it's my 10 year Wedding Anniversary and that was my 'wedding weight' (I've been everywhere from 124lbs to 185lbs but 140lbs is when I'm happiest).

I'm 5'3 and 28 years old. My goal right now is 125lbs, but I'm more focused on a goal body than a goal weight. I want to be able to perform better (I'm a runner) and I just want to look good. I'll take looking great over hitting a specific number on a scale.

I weigh just about the same as I did on my wedding day, but am in a smaller clothes size. Its amazing what adding exercise to your life will do for your body.

Excellent attitude!!! I'm a runner too - have several 10Ks, 2 half-Marathons and a full Marathon under my belt. I gained weight partly due to a spate of injuries that prevented me from running for a while. Getting fitness back up now and can do 10K in an hour....need to up my distance then work on aiming for a PB in a June Half. I'm hoping for sub-2hrs!!!

I was 295 and I'm at 212 and have been wrestling with what my goal weight should be, I was going to stop at 175 but now I see the 160s are possible. I'm also 5'10. Congrats on your loss.

I currently eat 1800 calories a day (roughly). I lift heavy 3 times a week, run a 5k 3-4 times a week, and do a long run or ruck once a week (5-15 miles).

You guys have all done an amazing job! Very inspiring. Some of you that have lost a ton of weight don't look like you have lots of loose skin. What did you do to keep this from happening? Inquiring minds want to know. :) Thanks for sharing.

Supposedly lifting heavy helps, there is a thread somewhere about it I believe

I have lost ~100 lbs, and you can't see it through my tux, but there's some loose skin under there.
There's all sorts of theories about what you should and shouldn't do, but it seems to be down to luck and genetics. That said, I'll take my loose skin and great health over "full skin", obesity, poor health, high blood pressure, etc., every single day of the year.

Don't let loose skin stop you from improving yourself.
