Unexpected results of weight loss

I was sitting on my knees at work the other day cleaning out a machine and I realized that I had been sitting for 5 min or more and my feet weren't asleep. I also find myself moving my fingers a lot to see the bones in my hands move. Never saw those before.6

1. Having my underwear fall down my hips to be saved by the crotch of my jeans. Thanks goodness I wasn't wearing a dress!
2. Shopping in my closet, trying on a skirt that I had gotten too big for, and realizing I missed my window of opportunity!
3.My husband posted a picture of me from a year ago when I was at my heaviest and instead of crying at how fat I was, I was happy realizing I'm no longer there.21 -
being able to cross knees, was a total surprise for me! I did several times just to be really sure that I could cross my knees.11

Ahum mine is a bit embarrassing.
Going into the hot whirlpool to work out and started to jump around and could just grab my bikini pants before it dropped off.
Lazy me and dont wanted to waste any time walking back home to change i waited till nobody was there anymore. sitting relaxing and such...when i was alone i started to work out very fast to get my exercising done...while i was holding my bikini pants with one hand.

Hahaha, that's me exactly!1 -

Oh my soul, I am so looking forward to this. My arms need to stop cheering me on when I move them around. LOL14 -
Picking clothes 2 sizes smaller than I used to wear a year ago, believing that they will not fit me....only to find that they fit just perfect in the trial room! Very nice feeling...brings a smile every time8

Me too!
had not realized that water would weight down the loose bikini.

You all are inspiring; thank you for sharing the good, the bad and the ugly. I can't wait to eventually share one of my own. This really should get "Sticky" status.2

And i hide it very well i just pretended to have my hand in my side was part of the exercise..while holding my pants. Walking back home afterwards i was laughing at myself.

These are all great!! For me, it's showering. Lathering up less surface area is really weird at first and drying off and realizing you're not utilizing the whole towel anymore is also strange in a wonderful way!7
-
This thread is amazing. I'm looking forward to experiencing some of them myself3

Few more:
1. I can wrap my towel around me well now, (surprise!) it stays in place and does not unwrap because the end was not tucked in enough.
2. No back pain....(touch wood!)
3. I can climb up stairs without pulling on the railing
4. I can balance on one leg now to wear undies
5. I do not feel anxiety or stress about shopping for clothes

My really unexpected thing was having my hygienist comment this week that my change of diet seemed to have decreased the amount of plaque on my teeth. We thought this must be as side effect of the fact that I have pretty much stopped drinking apple juice. (Do the sugars in pasta and bread land on one's teeth, does anyone know?) I was expecting my doctor to comment on my weight loss, but not my dentist!10

I can now cut my toenails properly!9

love this thread and I can identify with so many of these. My two biggest surprises:
1) I work at a university and attend graduation every semester in my cap and gown. Well my head shrunk 1/2 an inch and I had to buy a new cap. 1/2 an inch of fat around my forehead!!
2) no more cracked heels! here I thought my horribly cracked heels were the result of dry skin and living in an arid climate. Nope, turns out it was just the pressure of all of my weight.23 -
Awesome thread and so inspiring! I'm down over 40 pounds with a lot more to go, but I am also experiencing the cold thing and fitting into booths without a struggle amazes me. I can't wait for the chub rub to disappear! Thanks everyone for sharing your successes. They give me so much to look forward to!3

I lost 10 kg so far, today I discovered that my wedding rings fit me again. One of them is even feeling a bit big. Wasn't really counting on that.
I can also finally cross my legs when I sit..3 -
When I first lost a lot of weight I was laying in bed one night and I felt this hard bump on my side that had never been there before. I was freaking out thinking it was a tumor or something. My ex husband felt it and laughed at me. He said it was my pelvis/hip. Sure enough, I had a matching one on the other side. :P10

I can also finally cross my legs when I sit..
The other day I was visiting a friend and sat down to talk. All of a sudden it hit me that my legs were crossed. In my head I kept thinking "Look at me sitting with my legs crossed!" Even though I know it's bad for your circulation, I kept sitting that way because I was so happy that I could.9 -
WOW! Over 200 responses - thank you guys :-)
Another one from me:
I've always loved clothes, but after buying two new sports bras at the weekend I've also just realised that losing weight has made me develop a new-found obsession with gym wear. I now have more workout leggings than actual trousers!
Unfortunately I've already got too small for the gym clothes I bought six months ago... I discovered this doing lunges in BodyCombat when my shorts started to fall down - sorry people standing behind me, I think you might have briefly seen my knickers!15 -
To add to the clothing mishaps; I was shovelling snow and realized that my pants were falling down! And the other day I walked out of my pajama pants (luckily that happened inside). This is such an inspiring thread, I've lost 10, and have about 80 to go, and looking forward to experiencing these changes really keep me on track.4

Me too!! It's the first area I go to when I go into a clothing store! It's like work clothes or even casual clothes are secondary.4 -
